Winning a coffee date with a Sage

  Chapter 10

Titan turned and walked toward the door of the government building. The building was a one floor repurposed storefront.

He walked to the door as a group of three men and two women stormed out cursing repeatedly.

They caught him looking at them and they flipped him off before stomping off.

Titan smiled. He turned and walking inside the building.

Glenda was behind the long counter dressed in the same white one piece form fitting dress.

Glenda’s face glowed with a beautiful smile at him as he walked toward her. “Hello. Oh I see you got your Psi class confirmation. Can you see my system menu?” She said.

Titan felt his focus lock on her body. A golden system window opened.

Titan whistled and he grinned at her. “Yeah. I can. Can you see my system menu?”

Glenda grinned. “Oh no. The source of my power is magical by design. I can see a faint purple glow to the Psi power around you.”

Titan smiled. “So does each class have a different glow?” He asked.

Glenda’s eyes seemed to heighten with glow from her eyes.

“Yes of a sort. When was the last time you checked your own system menu, lately.”

Titan shrugged. “I don’t think it would change that much.”

Glenda had a small smile on her face. “Hmm. I think you would be surprised. So are you ready to have some training on the mat?” She said.

Titan smiled. “Oh yeah. I also have some questions for you about the Psi class.”

Glenda grinned and she nodded. She waved a hand at the front desk. It disappeared away and she turned headed to the back.

Titan followed her inside the training room. It was the same as he remembered it.

Glenda turned toward Titan and held up her hand. Her golden energy sword appeared in front of her.

“I’m afraid I only have a passing rudimentary knowledge about the Psi. But, I will assist you as best as I can. “

Titan nodded taking off his scabbard. He removed the sword and it glowed in his hand.

“That will be fine. Any knowledge will be helpful.”

“Let us begin where we left off.” Glenda said before firing off three magical orbs from her sword toward him.

Titan rolled dodging one attack and then blocking one other shot before he was knocked off his feet by one orb.

“What is the origin of the Psi class?” Titan asked as he sprang again to his feet.

Glenda chuckled. “Fifty years ago when the dungeons first appeared in our world they awakened a long with the magic users.”

Energy orbs fired off again with four orbs toward Titan.

He dodged fast quick speeds. Titan smile only to be hit from behind by an energy attack.

Titan went flying across the gym space and land on his face. He rolled over missing an attack at the back of his head.

“If the class has always been around why aren’t they widely known? What’s the fear dungeon crawlers have of them.”

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

Titan jumped to his feet and draw out his weapon.

Titan felt a rumbling beneath his feet.

He jumped away a second before an explosion of light went under his feet.

Glenda switched her stance and she stood with half her body facing him.

The energy sword launched toward him like a rocket and nearly knocked him over.

Titan tracked the movement of the energy sword as it felt around the room.

“True legendary power. That is your answer. A true Psi has always been few in number. The single most powerful Psi tends to stand alone.”

Titan side-stepped and then rolled two attacks by the sword.

“You are a pretty powerful lady in your own right..” He said with a grin.

  Glenda chuckled. “Am I?”

“I think so. If you’re not as powerful as a Psi you certainly are far prettier than any Psi Class I have ever met.”

Glenda’s face glowed. “Hmm. Thank you. But my powers have limits.”

“Psi powers have limits. If you don’t eat, your body shuts down. If you don’t think fast enough you die in battle.” Titan said calmly.

The energy sword started speeding toward him and then fractured.

Titan jumped back in surprise and then dodged as smaller gold swords appeared and attacked Titan from different directions.

Titan dove and rolled on the floor and still took several hits to his body. He laughed and covered his body up.

The attacks stopped. Titan laughed. “Damn you are creative.”

Glennda grinned and held out her hand. Her sword appeared again before her.

  “Are you ready to continue?”

Titan groaned as he came to his feet slowly.

“Absolutely. Why did you become a high level sage?” He asked.

Glenda nodded her head. “I love reading and learning. The title is just a name for the type of mindset and description for what I am.”

Her light sword began to shimmer. Glenda stared at him. “Lay a hand on my shoulder and you win a prize.”

Titan nodded his head. “You have got me interested.” He said his eyes focused.

Two clone energy swords came down at him from opposite directions.

  [Activate Skill: Blink Step.]

Titan appeared behind Glenda touching his hand to the nap of her neck lightly.

“What is the prize by the way.” He asked.

The energy exploded in a bright light blinding Titan’s vision.

Titan was sent flying backward. He hit the wall hard and slid down in real pain.

Titan lay on the matt looking white light. He sighed.

“Are you giving up?” Glenda asked somewhere in the room.

“No. Just waiting for my vision to return.” He said calmly.

  “You surprised me.” She said.

Titan shook his head. “No I didn’t. You were calm the whole time.”

“On your feet. You have another set of eyes to use in your head.” She said.

UPTitan got on steadily to his feet. He frowned. “Okay in the event I am blinded in battle. How do I see with my mind?”

  Glenda laughed.

  Titan smirked. “What’s so funny?”

“You are a very interesting man. Mr. Young. Use your focus and psi powers to expand your focus out.”

Titan nodded and then held out his Axiom Edge as he extended out his powers.

His mind visualized the room around him and then he got echo of a mind.Twenty steps in front of him.

Glenda’s mind was warm and sparkled with energy. Explosive active energy around it. He could almost feel the waves of it.

Suddenly he heard and felt her energy sword racing toward him.

Titan waited. He closed his eyes and then side stepped it striked it down with his Axiom Edge.

  “Wow!”

He opened his eyes again and the world came back into focus slowly.

Titan looked directly toward Glenda. She was standing in the same spot. But she looked different.

Glenda’s energy sword floated in front of her. Her body was surrounded by a golden sparkling vibratant energy flowing from her mind.

She gave him a dazzling smile and nod of approval. “You are progressing famously.” She said in a honey sweet voice.

Titan dropped down to the matt tired finally.

“How was I able to see your mind? This all so confusing to me.” Titan said as he shook is head.

Glenda stared at him. “Explain it to me. How did your mind interpret the information you were seeing?”

Titan frowned. “I could hear your breathing. I could even smell you. Something else happened. I could see the energy coming from your brain waves.”

Glenda smiled and nodded her head. “Go on. Continue. What was your impression your that your mind did with that information?”

Titan shook his head. “I don’t know how you would take my impression of your brain. I don’t want to insult you."

Glenda’s lips shook a little from held back laughter. “You could not insult me. Please. Tell me what you saw.”

“There’s a golden power bank of explosive energy to your mind. Like a mini sun that sparkled with vibrant energy. It's very pretty.”

Glenda’s face flushed with heat. “Thank you for the compliment."

Titan smiled. “You’re welcome. Would you be interested in getting coffee later on?”

Glenda smiled. She started to say something but stopped when the sound of a phone went off.

She held out her hand and cell phone appeared in it. She put it to her ear.

The sound of a male voice speaking quickly and directly was commanding her.

She nodded and started writing off a note and with a wave of her hand it the words turned into a slip of paper.

Titan held out his hand and the note flew into his palm.

  Yes

I would love to have coffee with you. Not today. I am being called away on business.

Please go down two blocks north to the food market. A dungeon as activated. Government Agents are attempting to contain it until help can be called. I have been called away on other matters.

Titan looked up to see Glenda had disappeared leaving behind a glow of magical energy behind.

I looked behind him as a doorway opened that exited the training room.

Titan sighed and then proceeded to the doorway.
