The mind of a true Psi

  Chapter 25

Glenda stared at him. “Can you show me what happened?”

"What do you mean?" Titan asked.

Glenda smiled nervously. "I mean show me what happened to you with your mind."

“How would I do that?” Titan asked.

“Ah. Just like you can talk to me with your mind. Just remember what happened and send it back to my mind.”

Titan’s eyes glowed suddenly as he remembered everything that happened and relayed it all to Glenda’s mind. His mind envisioned every event quickly in perfect picture moving images.

Glenda’s eyes blinked rapidly and then she held up her hand. “STOP! That’s good enough. Thank you.” She said,

Titan’s eyes returned to normal. “Sorry. It was my first time doing something like that. You alright?” He said.

Glenda took a deep breath in and out and then she smiled. “Yes. Yes. I am fine. It was intense. Thank you. Why do you call it The Rush?”

Titan chuckled. “It’s exciting. I feel a punch of getting to my objective. Everything is coming against me but I feel the rush of being blind to everything but one object, the prize. All my focus and intention goes in one objective direction.”

“Me.” Glenda said softly. “You wanted to see me that bad?” She said.

"Yeah. You were a strong enough impression on me." Titan said and he shrugged. “That and I got questions. Are you free?”

Glenda smiled as a door way to the gym appeared behind her. She turned and walked toward the entrance.

Titan jumped over the desk and followed her inside the gym. Glenda turned to him as she held up a glowing gold sword.

“I read a report that you defeated the earth spirit dragon.” Glenda said.

Titan shook his head. “I didn’t defeat it. I survived an attack against the dragon. I gained a parry skill in the fight. He was an angry asshole.” He said.

Glenda’s sword disappeared and then it appeared behind Titan blasting his back with gold electrical energy.

“Shit!” Titan said as he rolled forward and scratched his ass. “Damn. That shit felt like a bee sting to my ass.”

"That's all you felt. A bee sting?!" She asked.

Titan shrugged and waved a careless hand. "Yeah. I can tell you add some real heat energy into your attack this time." He said.

Glenda stared at him. She looked slightly annoyed and interested in or an idea. Titan couldn't tell.

Titan frowned as tried to use his focus to understand what she was thinking but a wall of energy was suddenly around her mind at that moment.

"Did I say something to piss you off or something?" Titan asked carefully.

Glenda chuckled but she shook her head. “Wow. No. No. I was just thinking. Okay. So did you absorb the phase energy of the dragon?”

Titan nodded. “Yes and no. I think the phase bulk of the phase energy was absorbed into the sword and evolved the sword. Hank said it changed into a summoning creature. It's weird.”

Glenda’s eyes glowed as a playful smile played on her lips. “Send your sword toward me.” She said.

Titan held out his sword and it went flying into Glenda’s palm.

Glenda froze and she stared at the sword in her hand like she couldn't believe it was there. Though she had asked him to pass it to her.

This only confused Titan more. He shook his head at her. He still couldn't get a strong impression for what she was thinking.

Glenda's eyes focused on the sword with wide eyes. She was frozen. Her hand slightly shook as her mouth was slightly open.

“What’s wrong? You asked me to send you the sword. Your acting weird today.” Titan asked.

Glenda coughed and cleared her throat. “I’m just adjusting. Let’s see. Scan and analysis.” She said,

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

Glenda's eyes glowed brightly changing into golden energy lazer beams. The lights in her eyes scanned over the weapon in her hand.

The Axiom Edge glowed violet and responded to her light rising out of her palm.

The weapon floated up and five floating windows with detailed information of the weapon.

A high whimsical musical sound came from the blade. The blade danced a little in the air as Glenda focused on it intently.

Glenda frowned. "Why is it making that sound?"

Titan chuckled nodding at the sword. "Axiom Edge likes the attention your giving it right now."

Glenda froze. "You can understand it? No. Of course you can. Emotional response and sound communication. Creation magic or phase generation of mind. That means Axiom Edge is semi-alive. Amazing."

Titan grinned and folded his arms across his chest. “That’s cool. So what’s the verdict, doc?”

Glenda nodded her head and the weapon flew back toward Titan’s hand.

“You have a level three Axiom Edge that has evolved to summoning magic being contracted to you. It is an amazing feat.” She said,

Titan parried two energy shots quickly with his sword. The shots came at him from the corners of the room.

Glenda frowned. “Did the dragon attempt to talk to you?” She asked.

“No. It was too busy trying to kill me and Hank. I think the dragon projected his thoughts because his emotions were too high.” He said.

An energy beam exploded up from the floor under his feet. Titan was thrown up toward the ceiling.

Titan rolled his body and did a summersault rolling through the air. His body was caught in an energy forcefield.

Titan was rolled and slammed down on the mat and he was held down.

“You've been working out.” Titan asked.

Glenda held out her glowing hand toward him. She used her other hand to tap a finger to her chin.

“That makes sense. The dragon wasn’t destroyed. It disappeared after you and Hank left the open dungeon area. It may appear again if you enter that area again once you get stronger.” Glenda said.

Titan grunted as he tried to raise. He sighed and appeared next to Glenda only to be lifted off his feet and slammed against the wall.

Titan lay on the floor on his side and elbow holding his head up. “Hmm. Why did the dragon disappear?”

Glenda sent seven gold swords toward him. He threw a glowing purple dagger toward the swords.

  “Wrong question.” Glenda said.

The swords explode on contact as the dagger sliced into them. Titan slow moved up to his feet. Titan frowned.

Glenda nodded. "Impressive move. What are your thoughts?"

“You're right. That question doesn’t matter. The better question is why are dungeon monsters evolving right now? Why were those nine warriors hunting for me outside of the dungeon?” He said.

Glenda held up her sword and sent it flying toward him.

Titan blocked the sword with a dagger. The sword exploded on contact sending Titan flying backward.

Glenda waved her hand and sent a giant golden energy hammer slammed down his body. His body flopped on the floor and he lay on his face.

Glenda stared at him. “What’s wrong? Are you getting tired?” She asked him.

Titan rolled to his back. “The dungeon system evolved into something else.” He asked,

“Yes. I do believe it may be targeting you as well.” Glenda said.

Titan grimanced not liking that theory at all. It only meant more annoying events would happened. He had to focus on getting money.

“Shit! Just what the fuck I don’t need. Another fucking surprise.” Titan said.

Someone cleared their throat. Titan sprang up to his feet. He looked toward a tall bulky man with bronze skin dressed in a dark blue uniform nodded to him.

“Hello Agent Young. I am Commander Peter Kendrick of the dungeon extermination squads here in Central City State.”

Titan saluted him. “Hello, Commander Kendrick. How may I help you?”

Kendrick had claw marks across his face. Crimson eyes studied Titan. “My apologies for interrupting your training session. I heard there was an issue of you flying through the air. Was that a necessary mode of public travel?" He said.

Titan shook his head. “I can’t fly sir. A Psi assassin was trying to kill me. He teleported me above the city. I was falling and then I figured out a way to get to Sage Glenda using my sword.” He said.

Kendrick stared at him. “How many assassination attempts have been made on your life?”

“I don’t know. I think around five or four.” Titan said in a tone that was a mixture of annoyance and indfference.

Kendrick stared at him. “As you and Agent Glenda have theorized something is happening to the dungeon magical system. You and a select number of agents and civilian dungeon crawlers are now being targeted by monsters and assassins.” He said.

Titan nodded. “What do you need me to do sir?” He asked.

Kendrick nodded his head. “I need you and Agent Glenda to head to a major dungeon area on the east coast. You have a strong ability of tracking down dungeon bosses analyzing situations.”

  “When?” Titan asked.

Glenda walked up to Titan and stood close beside him.

Kendric’s eyes glowed for a second. “Damn. You need to get more sleep. In five hours I have a plane waiting for you at the airport. Glenda will take you there before then you’ll need to get some armor. Go to the redemption shop. Get yourself fitted. The tab is on me.” He said before turning and disappearing in red smoke.

Titan turned to Glenda. “Commander Kendrick has a strong mind. I thought he was a fire mage. I couldn’t see his system menu. Interesting.”

Glenda grinned. “You wouldn’t have been able to see past his natural mental fire wall. He’s a level sixty, rank five, paladin for the force of justice and honor.” She said,

Titan whistled. “Pretty impressive. Hmm. Can you see me.” He said.

Glenda’s eyes glowed for a second. She turned her head to the side as a playful smile played on her lips.

“You have a true tactical Psi mind.” She said smoothly.

“You have a cute smile. Oh. What do you mean by that?” Titan said.

Glenda giggled. “You only allow me to see what you want me to see.”
