CHAPTER 187: | HOLY WAR | 2, NO... IT'S THE ADVENT OF THE STARBORN LEVIATHAN
The soldiers, the templars, the priests, the rankers of the Lahaina Empire that were fervently advancing on all sides of the Evernight Church stopped their steps, stopped their actions, stopped their thoughts of murder, of judgment, of righteousness, as all of them could see only a handsome figure atop one of the towers of the Evernight Church struggling to lift his spear toward the sun.
The soldiers of the empire, no not just the soldiers but everyone present at the moment knew who the man was that occupied their attentions at the moment.
His name was Lumicor, a human with no background, no middle name or last name, not someone who had undergone a genetic evolution nor was he the inheritor of the crystal emperor Triton trapped at the now erased Altia capital due to an unknown reason.
His name alone brought fear to all. His mere presence brought chaos and even greater despair to all, that even the rankers that the empire held so great, that their existence alone was akin to a demigod, feared his mere presence alone, for none had ever survived a single strike of his spear, for his title alone [Radiant Demon] sung of his atrocities that all of them shivered at the mention.
For he alone was enough to singlehandedly wipe out an entire order that numbered in the hundreds of thousands in a matter of weeks alone, without resting for even a single moment.
His infamy as a war fanatic alone was enough, enough for Lahaina's empire greatest knight, greatest marksman, greatest mage, greatest clerics to retreat in fear, since Lumicor was not a human, no he was more akin to that of an undying demon, that even when his limbs were severed again, then again, then again until insanity claimed those counting how many times they had severed it, hoping that he would fall, yet he merely took another step, then another, as he massacred their friends, their families, their lives like they were wheats ready to be harvested by farmers, all retreated at his sights.
For he was a demon incarnate, a nightmare in human skin that even death was not enough to kill him.
These soldiers, knights, marksmen, mages, clerics, all of these toughest men, women, all of them feared his existence alone, even to the point that they would rather fight the lightning demon or the demonic dragon or perhaps vixens of the Evernight Church rather than have this demonic god jump at the center of their ranks like he was casually taking his morning stroll, while his spear wrought his enemies of their lives in a casual slash of his gilded spear.
Now witnessing this demonic god standing in one of the watchtowers of the Evernight Church, all of them let out a relieved sigh, even the emperor, since he too did not want this manmade disaster to wreak havoc on his men so early in the war, so all of them in silence, in a trance, stopped their actions as they watched him slash his gilded spear at the empty air.
They were trapped in a trance like they were undergoing an enlightenment, no all of them were not in a trance, more like the supreme law of time decided to not grace this world its presence, as all of them, be it cultists of the Evernight Church or soldiers of the Lahaina Empire, were all frozen in time like all of them were put in a stasis chamber.
"Eclipse."
Lumicor whispered in his softest voice, as an extremely thin line appeared on the folds of empty space at where his gilded spear cut through. Colors, the colors of the world were gone.
The world lost its colors in the next seconds.
"Interesting."
Izrael yawned in his castle as he stared at the world that had lost its colors, for him it was intriguing that a mere mortal, no a god who had the same caliber as him could execute such a complicated yet profound technique with its physical strength alone.
Truly the saying that you will discover something new every day is truer than he could recall in all of his time.
Izrael was not one to exaggerate his words nor did he have any other reasons to exaggerate his remarks, for he knew that it is indeed impossible for a mere mortal, no for even a god of his caliber to execute such a complicated yet profound technique by only using his mere physical strength.
Well unless his understanding in the spear was so profound maybe he could replicate it, the act of cutting the world in half in a single slash perhaps it may be possible, but Izrael was too lazy to delude himself that he could replicate it, as he could not help but stare at the monster that he created, at the emperor of the Lahaina Empire, Emperor Lohara Low Lahaina levitating at the sky.
"I am impressive demonic god."
Said Lohara in a rather lofty voice like he was someone who is untouchable, like this level of attacks did not even bother him the slightest bit, because for him a mere wave of his hands was enough to incapacitate that man, so he stared at Lumicor then smirked in a rather cruel way as he merely lifted his hand then pinched the line that cut through space with his bare hands that turned metallic the moment he touched it, as his jet black pupils shifted for a moment as they took a silver hue in them.
Lohara wondered what the so called demonic god expression would be when he destroyed his efforts before his eyes, so he clenched his hand with all of his might and space itself rippled then trembled then fractured in the next moment as the white line that scarred the empty space vanished along with the fracture, as he said coldly.
"Entertain me."
Lumicor witnessing such an absurd scenery stared at the others who were now locked in a battle to the death with their chosen opponents, as he merely chuckled at Lohara's remarks.
This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
Did he Lumicor the god of the lake of dreadnought fall this low? To the point that some insignificant nobodies had the guts to treat him as an entertainment? Truly he had lived for far too long as to experience such insults borne on his great self.
"How absurd!!! How dare a mere human subject me to an entertainment?!! How utterly absurd!!!"
His shouts reverberated across the entire battlefield, he was angered beyond reasoning because who dares to treat him as some form of entertainment when he was the god of the lake of dreadnought, how dare these insignificant characters mock him!!!
How dare these mortals mock him a god!!! He was a god!!! He was a freakin god whose presence alone brought fear to all!!
"ADVENT OF THE STARBORN LEVIATHAN!!!"
In his rage Lumicor did not even hesitate to activate his [Ascension X] skill [Advent of the Starborn Leviathan] this was a sovereign ascension skill at the highest place an [Ascension X] skill, no it did not even matter anymore, the quality of this skill did not even matter anymore since the spectrum of this skill quality could not even be compared to that of an emperor tier nor it could ever be put in the same category as one.
For it had reached a state far beyond, beyond what a mere mortal could ever tread, perhaps, yes perhaps this skill had the qualifications to be elevated to that state in the future, even then it is in the future, so for now the question was how could Lumicor use this skill?
When he could not use the mana in the atmosphere since the banner templar controlled the world will to not let their enemies to use it?
Even now Lumicor could still feel the mountainous pressure of the world will like there was an entire world sitting on his back, so how could he force the mana in the atmosphere to obey him with just his mana attunement?
When he did not even have his mana circuits that Alister Von Fai incinerated to dust in his betrayal?
The answer to that question was quite simple. Lumicor sacrificed his lifeforce so that he could momentarily increase his mana attunement to their maximum limits, so that he could force the mana in the atmosphere to heed his command instead of the world will in for a split second.
Which was enough for him to gather a million units of mana to oversaturate his monster core, so that he could carve a new set of mana circuits in his monster core to utilize for this moment.
Even though he would sacrifice nearly half of his life span as a radiant leviathan which was equivalent to ten thousand years since he a radiant leviathan could practically live up to twenty thousands.
Even though he would lose half of his lifespan and perhaps he would also lose his attunement to mana as a price in forcefully elevating it to its maximum just for this moment, a moment of satisfaction.
Lumicor did not even feel a tinge of regret at this enormous sacrifice since he could just train his way back up here in a matter of months to regain his mana attunement while he could refresh his lifespan in his next evolution which was near.
Now being able to utilize his mana circuits for what felt like eternity since it left him in a vacation, Lumicor felt gratification rushing in his flesh as mana flooded them, also now with his mana attunement maxed out Lumicor felt way better than ever as he could now conjure [Eclipse] in a single thought.
"Fuuuu... how relaxing..."
Lumicor said as he stared at Lohara still levitating in the air like he did not even matter, as he flicked his hand and radiance rose all over the space.
"Fire symbolizes hope, light symbolizes purity, starlight symbolizes dreams. I am the Incarnation of Starlight."
Lumicor whispered as the moths of radiance levitating in the empty air spun erratically as their light grew brighter and brighter until all of them reached a point of brilliance where everything even time stopped, as they shed their shells so that they could transition into starlight begun.
Like a god descending to the mortal world the miniature world where Lumicor was currently at begun to ripple slightly in the descents of his divine armaments, as moths of starlight coalesced into existence from the brightest radiance.
The world was filled with divine glory as moths of starlights appeared in the empty air like the constellations in the night sky, as all of them collectively conjoined into one to create an orb of darkness that looked like a black hole, and from the black hole formed a fragmented halo of starlight.
Instead of an angelic halo fitting for a god of starlight the one that formed this time was a fragmented one, a broken constellation hovering atop in his head in its infinite glory, the glory that it once possessed, for Lumicor did not possess the required mana to form a complete one.
His appearance could be described like a fallen archangel that fell from the heaven, yet as an archangel who had sat at the highest place his gaze still held the lofty ambition of an archangel to become something far beyond of its creature, to become the sole light in the world, to become god itself.
Lohara witnessing such an insane transformation that could drive any of his men into insanity merely waited for its conclusion, for he levitated at the sky unbothered as he observed the starlights gathering into a cluster to form into a black hole that anchored the descension of Lumicors armaments.
Lohara waited as he witnessed armaments after armaments appear from the black hole that then begun to wrap against Lumicors form like they were formless water, one after another like a grand ceremony was taking place at the sky.
To call Lohara dumb for waiting for his opponent to fully transform was stupid, for he had the confidence that he would still remain victorious at their duel, he was certain that he could take this man down if he ever so wished it, so what is of him transforming into a god?
Into something that was far beyond what a mere mortal could ever comprehend?
"Entertain me more, do not disappoint me Lumicor."
Lohara whispered under his breath as he waited for Lumicor transformation to conclude, for he was not stupid as to wait his opponent to become a god, for Lohara who was sitting at the pinnacle of mankind had found no foe that could rival him, that could give him a battle that his very soul craved.
Lohara stared at Lumicor nearing the end of his transformation, he watched as the last piece of equipment graced Lumicor's handsome face covering it from head to toe, as a fractured crown could be seen sitting atop his head while his supposedly sixteen wings.
No more like nine wings as others did not fully materialize, let out a powerful burst of energy all over the place, as he levitated in the air like an archangel donning a menacing heavy armor with fractures all over it, as he gripped a gilded spear in his hand.
Lumicor in his most powerful form coldly stared at Lohara like he was a god, for his god complex would return so long as he regained his true power, for Lumicor claimed himself to be a god.
Lumicor pointed the tip of his spear at Lohara's head as he said coldly like he was a god judging a mere mortal that dared to challenge his divinity.
"Mortal let us begin the battle between man and gods! Show me if you are a godslayer or just a foolish mortal claiming to be one?"
