Chapter 54

  Trying To Make Sense Of It All

  Jackson:

  With the kids asleep everything should be peaceful but my mind is anything but. I lay awake thinking about everything that has transpired over the past years. Starting with the twins' birth up until the past few months. We found Wayne and his mate. We saved them from the darkness, Mom and Dad adopted Ashura, Thoran and Nome. D and I adopted Tanchi. Now we have found and saved 4 more family members. Eric, Lexie, Wren and even Brenton. From what Ashura told Dad and I, Brenton was embedded in poisons that would have killed his wolf and himself in a few months. He had spelled strings surrounding his insides that had bound his wolf but he had also had been injected with wolf's bane and silver for years and he needed to be purged of the darkness that was buried deep inside him along with all the toxins.

  He was finally able to shift after the purge. He found his mate. Nome. Brenton wolf is weak and starved. Nome is taking over Brenton and his wolf Arrows meals. Making sure they both eat healthy high protein meals.

  Dianna is tossing and turning next to me. She is just as restless as I am. She wakes the rest of the way up and props up against the headboard leaning into me.

  Dianna:

  Can't sleep either can you? There is so much that needs to be done.

  We need to interrogate the prisoners today, schedule a meeting with Brenton, the kids have school and we all have training. But, there is something that is bothering me. I mean it's not really bothering me in a nervous type of way. It's more in a curious type of way.

  Jackson:

  Why is our family growing like it is?

  Dianna:

  Yes. We went from a family of 8 to now a family of 33. All are smart and powerful and even we are learning more about our other abilities. I know we are preparing for something bigger that is going to happen. It bothers me that we don't know when.

  Jackson:

  All of these wonderful people have been put in our lives to help us. I truly believe that nothing will happen until everyone is beyond prepared. Talking to you always eases my mind because you know what is bothering me. You just say it out loud and I'm able to put it in perspective for you and myself.

  Dianna.

  That is what makes us perfect mates. Now let's get some sleep while we still have enough time to get proper sleep.

  Jackson:

  It wasn't long until we both fell into a peaceful deep sleep.

  When we woke up it was past 10:00am. We overslept. This is not good. Dianna wakes up and she is just as panicked as I am. We hurried and took a shower and just when we were dressed, someone knocked on the door. It was Ryan with a tray full of food. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, orange juice, and even fresh baked cinnamon rolls. She tells me that the prisoners have been interrogated and the conversations were all recorded. The meeting with Brenton will be this afternoon and we will listen to the interrogation recordings at that time so we can hear the children and Brenton's side of things. The children had breakfast and are in class. Louis and Ann are at the hospital and Nicholas, Ashura and King Vlad went to Drac Corp. Thoran and Hynes are going over every piece of information we have. Nome and I will be searching old tomes and all family genealogy to see if we can find anything else about the prophecy and hopefully we can find out how everyone fits into this and the roles we play.

  Dianna you are wondering if I can help uncover real truths and thoughts of the suspected spies and prisoners.

  Dianna:

  Yes I am more than willing to help uncover any information that could but an end to all these experiments and disappearances..

  Jackson:

  How many people know of your ability?

  Ryan:

  Just Hynes and now the both of you.

  Everyone thinks I'm a pure Ware.

  Mentalists are undetected by other supernaturals, but not to other mentalists. We can smell each other from at least 5 miles away regardless of wind direction.

  Dianna:

  I think we can make some sense of some things now by starting with everyone's abilities to see where they may be useful. It's something we haven't thought about discussing. We just excepted everything without trying to reason it out.

  Ryan:

  Nome and I will get started archiving all the family's abilities right now.

  You finish eating. From what I hear we are in for a full day and we've wasted enough time chatting.

  Jackson:

  That was interesting to say the least.

  Dianna:

  Yes but it was educational.

  Have you ever wondered why we never questioned any of this? Take the adoptions for instance. We didn't question anything about the adoptions. We just agreed and we immediately did the ceremony right then. Jack I think this is going to start making sense to all of us soon.
