Trixie was tired!

  "Tireeeeeeeed!" She had been studying for almost a thousand years!

  "Good job, then what is this letter?" Nanny Mary nodded at Trixie and merely asked that, "You will get one of these if you get it right...."

  Trixie would not fall for this trap- "CANDY!" Good thing it wasn't a trap, but candy!

  "That's a T for Trixie!" Trixie said pointing at the stick with another stick atop it as a hat, why was Trixie's letter a stick with a hat? She didn't know, but that's what it was!

  Trixie liked to think it wasn't a hat but a princess tiara.

  It made sense like that after all.

  But that didn't matter either because -"Gib me candy!" Trixie said extending her hands towards Nanny Mary.

  They had been studying for literal ages (Did Trixie not say this before?) in Trixie's room.

  Nanny Mary did say that while the library was the best place, they couldn't make too much noise there for respect towards people if they wanted to read in peace.

  Even if it was their library they still needed to respect the rules, and Trixie would listen to that, even if Trixie was da rulz.

  Totally not Trixie not wanting to go into the library, even if Nanny Mary had said that she would look after ambushes, she still would be careful of them!

  As Shiori-sama used to say, 'Don't trust an enemy is dead unless you can see their dead body in front of you!' Whenever she was in her Overlord mood.

  Which didn't happen as often as Trixie would like, another reason she didn't like the head maid, because Shiori-sama didn't go in that mood unless they were alone in a slumber party.

  Trixie had never seen a dead person's body, so she wasn't sure how they looked different from the normal people that weren't dead. But she assumed she would know the difference if she saw them.

  "Here then, good girls get their rewards." Nanny Mary patted Trixie's head while she was eating the candy.

  The candy wrapper? It went straight into her pocket, the Toybox would throw it to the trashcan when Trixie was near one!

  She had no time to deal with these things! Besides, it was annoying to dispose of them right, couldn't throw it into the trash or the head maid would find them!

  Oh right, the head maid! Nanny Mary said during the class that she would deal with that soon!

  It was a promise from Nanny Mary!

  "Heheheheh," Trixie smiled while eating the candy, Nanny Mary had shown promise and promised to deal with the head maid. Wonder how that would go?

  "Are you ready to deal with the problem with the head maid Trixie?" Nanny Mary asked, smiling at Trixie. "Since your father wasn't with us this morning I took a few liberties thanks to the authority he granted me."

  "You did?" Trixie asked surprised, no one had done that before!

  Was this the power of someone with the Epithet of Nanny!?!?!?!?

  "Yes," Nanny Mary nodded at Trixie, "We will fix your issue with the head maid this way, the Knights from your house helped too."

  "Of course they did, they are the bestest knights of all the colored gangs!" Trixie made sure of that!

  "... *Sigh* I guess that is something we can't fix," Nanny Mary sighed about something, wonder what was that about? "But let's go, they should be waiting for us. There wasn't much time, but a few of the good ones should have come."

  A few of the good ones?

  Trixie stood up since Nanny Mary was cleaning and preparing to leave. There was no reason to clean, they were in Trixie's room! The Toybox could fix whatever they broke and clean whatever they left behind!

  But since Narry Mary was fixated in cleaning Trixie followed suit.

  "A few of the good ones?" Trixie said walking to the door, Nanny Mary followed soon, extending her hand for Trixie.

  So Trixie grabbed the hand and started walking with Nanny Mary, they were walking towards the foyer. Trixie didn't like the foyer, it was always dirty since peeps kept coming and going, a few even stayed there to play around (Totally not Trixie).

  Trixie was noticing more peeps around too, and not all of them had a firm connection to the ToyBox, wonder what was that about? Did they have more guests and Trixie didn't notice?

  Surely not, Trixie would have noticed!

  "Greetings everyone, my name is Mary Lindon Tayer and this is the Lady of the House." Nanny Mary said as they stood in front of a group of... old.... ladies.... "Introduce yourself, Trixie."

  "Hi!" Trixie said waving her hand at the guests while noticing how Nanny Mary wasn't scolding her, so they were old people then? It was fine to think like that? "I am Trixie White!"

  "The Daughter of Evil?" Someone whispered.

  "The Demon child?" Another one whispered afterwards.

  "That will be all for you three," Nanny Mary said pointing to the three at the very back, "The Knights of White will escort you out. If you would?"

  Nanny Mary said, snapping her fingers, and a pair of knights of White appeared beside the three old women at the very back...

  The old women jumped a little when they saw the Knights of White.

  "We are sorry!" "Sorry!" "I am not with them!"

  They all started speaking, but the Knight of White didn't listen to them and merely dragged them away, the other women reacted differently.

  A few of them looked smug about it, another group seemed somewhat fearful, Trixie could smell the makings of a good toy in those, and lastly the final group seemed nervous for... different reasons? They didn't seem very much focused on Trixie but on Nanny Mary.

  "This is the Lady of the house," Nanny Mary spoke sitting Trixie first and walking forward, "She is to be your boss should you take in this job."

  Job?

  "Trixie, any questions you would have for them?" Nanny Mary said turning to Trixie, "Anything you want for your new head maid?"

  Head maid?

  "They are head maids?" Trixie asked confused, they didn't look like a head maid though?

  "They came for an interview for that job, yes." Nanny Mary said pointing to the women who were waiting for Trixie's answer, or well, question in this case. "Should they be hired, one of them will take on that job, they all are qualified for it... or so their recommendations say anyway."

  New head maid then? They were going to hire a new head maid? But they already had the head maid!

  "If we hire a new head maid... What happens to the old head maid?" Nanny Mary asked to no one in particular.

  "...They would get fired...?" One of the remaining old women said, "Who is the current head maid? I was under the impression you didn't have one."

  ...SHE WOULD GET FIRED?!?!?!?

  "Trixie likes that one!" Trixie said pointing at the one that had spoken, it was one of the meek ones. She was also the smallest of them all, so it would be easier for Trixie to get her to listen.

  "That is correct," Nanny Mary said nodding to Trixie and the smol Head maid, "The house of White doesn't have a head maid, but if they had, any other head maid would no longer be able to work or be here. Since the head maid would be the one we hire on this occasion, any other head maid would lose their right to remain in the White State."

  Trixie got it! Nanny Mary was a genius!

  "Then, what is your name and what will you do to Trixie if we hire you!" Trixie said pointing with her fingie to the old smol woman that had spoken.

  "My name is Elizabeth Singh," The woman said bowing to Trixie and then once again to Nanny Mary, "I have a recommendation letter from my previous employer here. As for what I would do to Lady Trixie... I don't get the meaning behind the question."

  Nanny Mary took the envelope offered, read it, nodded at it and then returned it to the Elizabeths maid.

  "Trixie is asking if you would scold her." Nanny Mary said, scandalizing Trixie.

  She didn't want the new head maid to get ideas!

  "Scold... her?" The Eliza maid said confused, "But... I will be new, I would need time to earn that right. So in the meantime, no, Lady Trixie. I would, however, refer any such questions to your Nanny or your parents."

  Nanny Mary nodded at that answer.

  "...So she won't scold Trixie for dirtying the carpet?" Trixie asked once again to ensure her freedom.

  "... If it's a small accident, then no," The Eliza maid answered, "... I assume our predecessor overstepped her authority then?"

  "No Lady of high society would dirty a carpet bad enough to get scolded by the servants." Other of the head maid candidates said.

  Trixie knew they were baddies, she could smell their evilness! The Toybox merely poked them a little and they showed their true colors!

  "That will be all from all of you then," Nanny Mary said clapping, "All of you are free to wait in the foyer in case you want to get a job for the openings leftover, or leave."

  Nanny Mary then helped Trixie stand up, they were leaving? But Trixie wanted to play around with the new toys!

  "Elizabeth, with us." Nanny Mary then offered Trixie the hand, so Trixie took it. If someone offered Trixie a hand, she needed to take it! What if Trixie got lost?!?!?!?

  Trixie was too cute to get lost!

  "Yes Mistress." The Eliza maid said walking quickly after Nanny Mary, was Nanny Mary a mistress?

  "As I said, I am Mary Lindon Tayer. The Nanny." Nanny Mary introduced herself, again, hadn't she done this before? Trixie got the feeling that she had heard her name like a thousand times already. "My work is to be the Nanny of Trixie and help manage some of her responsibilities, one of which is the employment of new personnel."

  "As you said Miss Mary." The Eliza maid quickly corrected her way to talk to Nanny Mary, but it was still deferential. She knew her position, Trixie liked that. "What will be my immediate responsibilities then?"

  "To get Trixie candy!" Trixie said nodding sagely, that was the most important mission of them all after all.

  "First you will survey the state of the house," Nanny Mary said snapping her fingers, a new Knight of White materializing besides them, "This one will guide you around and answer all your questions about the layout of the mansion."

  The Knight of White nodded at Nanny Mary's statement. And said nothing else, good toy.

  "You will notice some... irregularities," Nanny Mary turned to look first at Trixie, then to the Knight, and lastly to the Eliza maid. "Your job is to deal with them and normalize the mansion as much as possible. You have free rein over the employment of new maids and butlers, so long as the house has enough to pay and house them."

  "Understood," The Eliza maid said, nodding to Nanny Mary, "When can I expect to meet the lord of the house and the lady?"

  "Lord White is currently..." Nanny Mary said turning to the Knight of White that had come to them a few scenes ago.

  "Lord White is in his office dealing with some serious matters," The Knight of White spoke, "He should be ready to meet the new staff in a couple hours, this way he can meet all the new staff in one go and not one by one as they get hired."

  Smart, Papa was smart.

  "Understandable, as soon as he is available get Elizabeth to meet him." Nanny Mary ordered, "He should give his go ahead too, even if he gave me the authority to hire new personnel, he still needs to approve it."

  "Lord White trusts your judgement, no employment will be annulled." The Knight of White stated.

  Trixie of course also nodded at that, she liked the Eliza maid.

  "As you say," The Eliza maid said nodding. "Any requirement for the maids and butlers?"

  Neither Trixie nor the Knight of White said anything; the Knight was loyal and didn't mind it, and Trixie was just happy if they didn't bother her after all.

  "We don't need employees who would disrespect the house they serve." Nanny Mary said narrowing her eyes and glaring in the direction of the foyer, "Anyone like the ones before, if you can pick people with some mild affinity towards mana, even if they aren't Circle users. Then the better."

  "... Does that mean I have an affinity towards Circles?" The Eliza maid asked surprised.

  "Everyone has an affinity towards Circles." Nanny Mary said shaking her head, "I meant it more as people who could somewhat feel the magic or are used to it, this is not a hard requirement. But as you have seen, this house holds Knights among their employees. More than usual anyway."

  What was Nanny Mary talking about?

  "Don't mind it." Nanny Mary finally said after a few seconds of trying to explain what she wanted, Trixie didn't get it, at all. "Just tour the mansion and start thinking about how many maids you will want."

  But they already had maids!

  "Also, pick up the roster of employees if needed, they will provide it." Nanny Mary said pointing at the Knight of White who was getting more and more work to do.

  Poor thing, they would get it working all day as it was!

  "Will do, I assume they already have the full roster, so surely we will not need to hire that many people." The Eliza maid said walking away with the Knight of white, they would do their own tour huh.

  "You have no idea..." Nanny Mary said, shaking her head, but they did have maids! And butlers!

  "Okay then," Nanny Mary said turning to Trixie.

  Trixie didn't like this, it felt like she was going to get scolded!

  "Trixie is innocent!" Trixie preeminently defended her honor! Trixie won!

  "I am sure of that too," Nanny Mary said, kneeling beside Trixie, "See? We now have a Head Maid. Meaning the head maid you fear will not be able to come, since her spot is now held by someone else."

  Ah right!

  "Trixie is safe!" Safe-ish anyway, now that the head maid wasn't an issue... no wait, wasn't the same with the librarian then?

  Trixie had a librarian and they weren't the one that bullied Trixie, so she was safe? Safer?

  "Yes," Trixie nodded nevertheless, "What is she going to do now?"

  Trixie had heard what Nanny Mary said, but she didn't get the deeper meaning, and Trixie was sure there was one!

  No way there wasn't one!

  "She is going to tour the mansion, get a panic attack when she notices this mansion has barely any personnel considering how big it is. And run around trying to hire as many people as possible." Nanny Mary smiled as she said that, "Of course, that will make it harder since she needs to hire people for almost all the available jobs, and then make sure they don't bully you."

  That last bit was important!

  Don't bully Trixie!

  That was rude!
