It hurt to read your journals. Of those times that came before. Reading what happened.
From your point of view.
- Sibsil Creed, Stories of Shurwinn, (2786)
Chaludra was a girl I could get behind.
If you had to be a graphic novel character, she was the one to pick. I mean, snarky, half-wild, fierce, and blood thirsty, I was more than a little in love with Chaludra.
I felt better, but I was too weak for the dojo, so Chaludra was the perfect post-relapse reading material.
I'd finished volume one in a flash and finally put together the mystery of Siblin Lone Warrior Nun because Chaludra went on a tour of vengeance against the Sibylline Sisters for failing at their jobs. They were supposed to predict the future, but they'd sent no warning, and Chaludra’s little sister was about to die from a virus that had ransacked their village.
You did not want to be a Sibyl when Chaludra was coming for you.
“Sibylline” must have been why Sorchen thought of the Chaludra series when I’d asked her what “Siblin Lone Warrior Nun” meant. The two words sounded alike, didn’t they? Simple mistake.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
Sorchen must have known about the Sistine Chapel paintings of the Sibyls, too. How much of the library had that woman read?
I still didn’t have the full explanation of the “Lone Warrior Nun,” but Chaludra was at Lone Rock Mountain Monastery, so maybe I was gonna find out. I picked up volume two.
Journal
Reading, writing, and resting have been my life for three days. Super boring, but I’m getting stronger by the minute.
I'm feeling better today, and I’ve read twelve—twelve—Chaludra graphics! They're a godsend! And they are eerily appropriate for what I’m going through right now. It’s like the author, Rue Linkin, wrote these graphics for me.
She obviously studied Ancient Earth things like the Sibyls and “Know Thyself.” I wonder if she’s from Earth, or a close descendant? It was only a few generations ago that the Shurwinn came here and colonized the sphere, so it’s possible that Rue has a lineage like that.
I wonder if other Shurwinn know about Earth stuff like Sibyls and the Sistine Chapel?
I love Chaludra’s story. She goes searching for the Sibylline Sisters, thinking she is doing one thing, and then she winds up doing something so much bigger than she thought.
Chaludra didn’t even know she was on a quest, but she became a warrior and a priestess accidentally by killing a frost giant and casting out a demon. Now, Book Twelve is hinting that her sister, Kitty, might search for the Sibylline Sisters too, so maybe Chaludra isn't gonna be “Lone" for much longer.
And what about me? Aren't I sort of like Chaludra—well, minus the blood thirst.
But being “Lone?" That I understand and don't want anymore.
Chaludra, it sure would be nice if you could help me figure this out. You found the first Sibylline Sister, so I’m not giving up, just like you. I’m going to figure out how to use what I can do and find the man from my dreams.
One way or another.
