Jubilation!

They- tall, upright things with their countless differences, had carried him in their arms and held him towards the sky. In reverence or excitement, he knew not.

“ Rejoice, my people! “ The grey haired one commanded, holding him in such a way that put strain on his back. Even when thrashing and hissing, it did not seem to dissuade him. Someone at the grey one’s side shifted, looking upon him with a worried expression- but did not approach, thankfully.

Only this one is troublesome enough He thought, craning his neck to look over the countless other strangers gathered along a lower level in the ornate room they stood in.   Escaping the confinement of his egg had been a tiring endeavour, with the new world that had been brought forward a wonderful and terrifying new experience. It would not disappear though, and he wanted to sleep.

Flapping his wings angrily, the tiny feathers hardly catching the surf the grey one brought his head down and looked at him with an expression so… Loving.

Upon emergence, there had been one that he had seen. The only reason why any of this was tolerated- was for the grey one, who smiled so joyfully and pressed his lips against the crown of his forehead.

For once, the warmth that blossomed in his tiny chest did not hurt.

” You will discipline yourself in time, however you must endure. They wish to see you. “ He said gently, finally rearranging him so that he could lay on his side. The sounds were foreign, but it could be tolerated. It was nice to hear, after all.

As calloused fingers scratched along the tiny nubs sitting utop his head, a tiny rumble made its way out of his throat. It must’ve been time to clean away the still present stickiness of the egg- though the exhaustion still clung, it could be tolerated. Soon, he’d rest.
