Chapter 11: The First Spiders

  ---

Three weeks passed since the battle.

Three weeks of healing, rebuilding, and processing everything that had happened. The dungeon hummed with new life—forty-seven freed cores had chosen to stay, transforming the sanctuary into something unprecedented. A community of cores, slimes, adventurers, and one ancient succubus queen, all living together in harmony.

  But change was coming.

Lilith felt it first, as she always did. A shift in the mana. A new presence at the edge of their territory. Not hostile—not yet—but watching.

"Master." She pressed against my core, her warmth familiar. "They're here."

  The spiders?

"Scouts. A small group. They've been observing for three days." She smiled slightly. "Dusk caught them yesterday. They're... nervous."

  Nervous?

"They've heard about us. The sanctuary. The cores. The slime queen." Lilith's eyes sparkled. "They want to see if it's real."

  Do we invite them in?

"Not yet. Let them watch. Let them report back." She settled against me. "The spider tribes are cautious by nature. They need to trust before they approach. We'll give them time."

  I pulsed agreement.

But I couldn't shake the feeling that time was shorter than we thought.

  ---

On the fourth day, the spiders made contact.

Not directly—they were too careful for that. Instead, they left a gift at the dungeon entrance: a web-woven pouch filled with rare herbs and a single silk-wrapped crystal.

  Dusk found it at dawn.

"A message," she reported, presenting the items to Lilith. "The herbs are for healing. The crystal is... an invitation."

Lilith examined the crystal carefully. It pulsed with faint mana—not threatening, but curious.

"They want to meet. Properly. But on neutral ground." She looked up. "Dusk, can you arrange a meeting pce? Somewhere safe, somewhere neither side feels trapped?"

Dusk nodded. "The clearing east of here. Open ground, visible from all sides. No ambush points."

"Perfect. Tell their scouts: tomorrow at noon. Lilith will meet with their leader alone."

"Alone?" Mira frowned. "Is that safe?"

"Safer than bringing an army." Lilith smiled. "Don't worry, little one. I've been handling diplomatic meetings since before your great-grandparents were born."

  [Location: Eastern Clearing]

  [Risk: Moderate]

  ---

The next day dawned clear and cold.

Lilith walked alone to the clearing, wings folded, hands visible, every movement calm and open. She wore no weapons, carried no obvious power—but anyone with mana sense could feel the ancient strength coiled within her.

The spider leader was already there.

She was beautiful in the way of all spider-kind—delicate and deadly, with silver hair that moved like silk and four additional limbs folded gracefully behind her. Her eyes—all eight of them—studied Lilith with obvious intelligence.

"You came alone." Her voice was soft, musical, careful.

"As promised." Lilith stopped at the clearing's center, ten feet between them. "And you?"

"Alone as well." The spider's extra limbs shifted slightly. "I am Velvet. Elder of the Silver Web tribe."

"Lilith. First Queen of the Dungeon of Monster Girls." She smiled. "Though that name's a bit long. We usually just call it home."

  Velvet's eyes narrowed slightly—then widened. "You're joking."

"Often. It helps with the tension." Lilith gestured around them. "Shall we sit? Standing meetings are so formal."

Hesitation—then Velvet settled onto the grass, her spider-limbs folding beneath her. Lilith sat across from her, cross-legged, utterly at ease.

"You're not what I expected," Velvet admitted.

  "What did you expect?"

"A monster. A predator. Someone dangerous."

Lilith ughed—genuine and warm. "I am dangerous. Very dangerous. But only to those who threaten my family." She tilted her head. "Are you threatening my family, Velvet?"

"No. We're... curious. The spider tribes have lived in these nds for centuries. We've seen dungeons rise and fall. We've watched cores consume each other. But we've never seen anything like yours."

  "Good different or bad different?"

"That's what we're trying to determine." Velvet's voice was earnest. "The cores you freed—they speak of you with reverence. The slimes—they love you. The adventurers—they choose to stay. This is... unprecedented."

Lilith nodded slowly. "We're building something new. A pce where monsters and humans can coexist. Where cores can be safe. Where family means more than power."

"And you want spiders to join this... family?"

"I want spiders to choose. To visit. To see if this could be home for them too." Lilith met Velvet's many eyes. "Your tribe—you're refugees, aren't you? Fleeing something."

Velvet's composure cracked—just slightly. "How did you—"

"I've lived a long time. I know the look of people who've lost their home." Lilith's voice softened. "Tell me. What are you running from?"

  Silence stretched.

  Then Velvet spoke.

"The Deep Weavers. Another spider tribe—older, stronger, crueler. They've been consuming smaller tribes for decades. Ours was next. We fled with whoever could run." Her voice dropped. "We've been wandering for months. Looking for somewhere safe."

  "How many?"

"Forty-three. Mostly young, some elders, a few warriors." Velvet met Lilith's eyes. "We heard about your sanctuary. About the freed cores. We hoped... but we were afraid to hope too much."

Lilith stood and extended her hand.

"Then hope, Velvet. Bring your tribe. Stay as long as you need. We'll protect you."

Velvet stared at the offered hand.

  "Why?"

"Because that's what family does." Lilith smiled. "And because one day, when you're strong again, you'll help someone else. That's how it works."

  Velvet took her hand.

  ---

  The spiders arrived at dusk.

Forty-three of them, ranging from tiny hatchlings to ancient elders, all moving with the careful grace of their kind. They carried what little they'd saved—silks, crystals, memories.

The slimes greeted them at the entrance.

Bubbles bounced forward immediately. "HI! I'm Bubbles! I make bubbles! Do you like bubbles?"

The youngest spider—a hatchling no bigger than Bubbles herself—peered at her with wide eyes. "Bubbles?"

"Yeah! Watch!" Bubbles blew a stream of iridescent spheres. They floated around the hatchling, popping gently against her fur.

The hatchling giggled—a tiny, chittering sound.

  "Again?"

  Bubbles grinned. "Again!"

Within minutes, the youngest spiders and slimes were pying together, their elders watching with cautious hope.

Mel approached Velvet with a tray of honey cakes. "Welcome. You must be tired from your journey. Please, eat."

Velvet accepted one cautiously, sniffed it, then took a small bite. Her eyes widened.

  "This is... incredible."

"Mel's famous honey cakes," Mira said, appearing beside her. "She'll feed you constantly. It's what she does."

"You're human." Velvet's tone was surprised—not hostile, just curious. "You live here by choice?"

"Best choice I ever made." Mira smiled at Mel. "These are my family now."

Velvet looked around at the scene—slimes and spiders pying, adventurers and monsters talking, cores pulsing gently in their sanctuary. For the first time in months, she felt something she'd forgotten.

  Hope.

  ---

That night, Lilith gathered everyone in Floor 2.

"We have new family," she announced. "The Silver Web tribe. They're refugees, fleeing a predator tribe called the Deep Weavers. They need our help."

"Then we help." Ruri's voice was firm. "That's what we do."

"Agreed. But we need to be smart. The Deep Weavers may follow. They're stronger, more numerous, and they don't value life the way we do." Lilith looked around. "We need to prepare. Build. Train. And we need to accelerate our expansion."

  "How fast?" Elena asked.

"Fast. Floor 11 is ready—that's where the spiders will initially settle. But we need Floors 12 through 19 as well. Space for them to grow, to feel at home, to become part of us."

"I'll start construction tonight," Shiny offered.

"Not alone you won't." Ember stepped forward. "We all help."

  "Together," Frost agreed.

  Lilith smiled. "That's my family."

  ---

  The next morning, work began.

Spiders and slimes worked side by side—a sight no one had ever seen. Silk weavers colborated with metal slimes to create reinforced structures. Poison dancers trained with fme slimes on combat techniques. Elders shared ancient knowledge with anyone who'd listen.

Bubbles had acquired a permanent shadow—the hatchling, whose name was Whisp, followed her everywhere.

"You're like a tiny spider me," Bubbles told her.

  "What's a me?" Whisp asked.

  "A person! You're a person! I'm a person! We're persons together!"

  Whisp considered this. "Okay."

  They continued pying.

  ---

Velvet found Lilith on the third evening, watching the construction.

"You've done something remarkable here." Her voice was quiet, wondering. "I didn't think it was possible."

  "What?"

"This. Slimes and spiders working together. Cores and adventurers living together. Monsters and humans loving together." She shook her head. "The Deep Weavers believe strength comes from consuming others. From taking. From dominating. But here..."

"Here we believe strength comes from supporting each other." Lilith gnced at her. "Which approach do you think sts longer?"

Velvet was silent for a moment.

"Yours," she admitted. "Yours sts longer."

"Then teach your children that. When the Deep Weavers come—and they will come—show them that there's another way. That family beats fear every time."

  Velvet nodded slowly.

  "I will."

On the tenth day, Dusk brought troubling news.

"The Deep Weavers. They're moving. Not fast—they're methodical, cautious. But they're following the Silver Web's trail."

  "How long?" Lilith asked.

"Two weeks. Maybe three." Dusk paused. "They're bigger than we thought. At least two hundred warriors. Plus their queen."

  Lilith's blood ran cold. "Queen?"

"Arachnia. The Deep Weaver Queen. She's ancient—nearly as old as you, Lilith. And she collects cores. Wears them as trophies."

Lilith closed her eyes. "Of course she does."

  "We can fight," Dusk offered.

"We can. But at what cost?" Lilith looked toward the construction—toward her family, working together, building something beautiful. "We need more power. More fighters. More queens."

Lilith. My voice echoed in her mind. Floor 20. Anya. She's the key.

"Master's right. We need to accelerate. Floors 11 through 19 in two weeks instead of four." Lilith's jaw tightened. "It'll push everyone to the limit, but—"

"We'll do it." Ruri appeared beside her. "We'll do it because we have to. Because family depends on it."

Lilith looked at her—her sister queen, her partner in this impossible dream.

  "Together?"

  "Together."

  [Timeframe: 2-3 Weeks]

  ---

The next two weeks were brutal.

Everyone worked—slimes, spiders, adventurers, cores. No one rested. No one compined. They built with desperate urgency, knowing what was coming.

Floor 11 became the spider residential level—warm, dark, comfortable. Floor 12 followed as a nursery for spiderlings and young slimes together. Floor 13 was a training ground, designed by Ember, Frost, and the spider warriors.

Floor 14 housed shared kitchens, where Mel taught spider cooks her recipes. Floor 15 became a library, with ancient spider knowledge preserved alongside dungeon records.

Floor 16 was a healing center, Dawn working with spider medics to create something unprecedented. Floor 17 held the first colborative forge, Shiny and spider silk-weavers creating masterpieces together.

Floor 18 was a gathering hall, rge enough for everyone. And Floor 19—the final pre-queen floor—became something special: a garden, combining spider silk pnts with slime-cultivated flora, beautiful and strange.

On the fourteenth day, they finished.

  Exhausted, triumphant, together.

"We did it," Ruri whispered, leaning against Lilith. "Actually did it."

"Now comes the hard part." Lilith's eyes were on the distance. "Now we wait."

  [Construction Complete: Floors 11-19]

[Status: All Defenders Exhausted but Ready]

[Time Remaining: Days - Deep Weavers Approaching]

  ---

On the fifteenth day, the Deep Weavers arrived.

They came at dawn—a tide of darkness flowing through the forest. Two hundred warriors, their bodies gleaming with malevolent purpose. At their head, carried on a throne of woven bones, sat Queen Arachnia.

She was massive—twice the size of any other spider, her body covered in ancient scars and the pulsing crystals of absorbed cores. Her eyes—all sixteen of them—glowed with hunger.

"LITTLE REFUGEES." Her voice echoed across the clearing. "DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD HIDE FROM ME?"

Velvet stood at the dungeon entrance, trembling but firm. "We're not hiding. We're home."

"Home?" Arachnia ughed—a horrible, scraping sound. "This pathetic cave? These weak slimes? You think they can protect you?"

"I think," Lilith said, stepping out of the dungeon, "that you've made a very big mistake."

Arachnia's eyes focused on her. "Ah. The succubus queen. I've heard of you. Ancient, they say. Powerful." She smiled. "I'll enjoy adding your core to my collection."

"You'll try." Lilith spread her wings. "But first—meet my family."

  Behind her, the dungeon opened.

Slimes poured out—all nine types, led by Ruri. Spiders followed—the entire Silver Web tribe, ready to fight for their new home. Adventurers emerged—Mira, Baldo, Elena, and dozens more, weapons ready. Cores pulsed from within, feeding mana to the defenders.

And from the depths, I watched.

  Ready to act if needed.

Arachnia stared at the assembled force.

  Then she ughed again.

"THIS is your army? Slimes and humans and refugees?" She gestured, and her warriors surged forward. "KILL THEM ALL!"

  The two forces met.

  ---

  The battle raged.

Bubbles' crimson joy bubbles flooded the battlefield, disorienting Deep Weaver warriors. They stumbled, confused—but their queen's will drove them forward.

Mel's honey trapped a dozen, but more took their pce.

Shiny's metal form held the line, but even she couldn't stop them all.

Ember and Frost fought back-to-back, fire and ice creating barriers, but the Deep Weavers were too many.

The Silver Web warriors fought with desperate courage, protecting their young, their elders, their hope. They'd run for so long—they wouldn't run anymore.

Mira's sword fshed. Baldo's pickaxe swung. Elena's arrows flew.

But the Deep Weavers kept coming.

Arachnia watched from her throne, smiling.

  And then—

From the dungeon entrance, something emerged.

A figure. Female. Eight legs. Silver hair. Eyes that held ancient wisdom and newborn power.

She wasn't Velvet. She wasn't any of the Silver Web.

  She was new.

  "ANOTHER QUEEN?" Arachnia screamed. "IMPOSSIBLE!"

The figure stepped forward, and the Deep Weavers froze.

  Not from fear—from recognition.

"You," one whispered. "The legend. The first. The mother."

  The figure smiled—sad and fierce.

"I am Anya." Her voice carried across the battlefield. "Spider Empress. Guardian of this dungeon. And you—" her eyes found Arachnia, "—are trespassing."

Arachnia's composure cracked. "You're DEAD! You've been dead for centuries!"

"I was waiting." Anya's extra limbs spread wide. "Waiting for a home worth guarding. Waiting for a family worth fighting for." She looked at the defenders—slimes and spiders and adventurers together. "I'm done waiting."

  She moved.

Even Lilith couldn't follow her speed. One moment she was at the entrance; the next, she was through the Deep Weaver ranks, leaving stunned and broken warriors in her wake.

Arachnia screamed and unched herself at Anya.

The two spider queens met in mid-air.

  And the battle shifted.

  ---

With Anya leading, the defenders pushed.

Silver Web warriors found new courage. Slimes fought with desperate joy. Adventurers pressed forward, exploiting the Deep Weavers' confusion.

Arachnia and Anya cshed again and again—queen against queen, ancient against ancient. They were evenly matched, but Anya had something Arachnia didn't.

  Family.

"YOU CAN'T WIN!" Arachnia screamed, her attacks growing desperate.

"I already have." Anya smiled. "Look."

  Arachnia looked.

Her warriors were breaking. Running. Surrendering. The Silver Web tribe had become something they couldn't defeat—a community.

  "NO!"

Anya's final strike took Arachnia's head.

  The Deep Weaver queen colpsed.

  And her army shattered.

  Silence fell.

Then cheering—louder than anyone had ever heard.

Slimes and spiders embraced. Adventurers hugged monsters. Cores pulsed with joy.

And Anya stood at the center, breathing hard, surrounded by her new family.

  "Welcome home," Lilith told her.

  Anya smiled—tired, happy, whole.

  "Thank you for having me."

They hugged—first queen and second, sister and sister.

And in my core room, I pulsed with pride.

  Another queen had joined us.

  Nine remained.

  But tonight, we celebrated.

  Author's thought:-

And so the dungeon gains its first Spider Queen.

Anya’s arrival marks an important turning point for the sanctuary. What started as a small dungeon with a few slimes is slowly becoming something much rger — a pce where monsters, humans, and even wandering dungeon cores can build a future together.

But the more the sanctuary grows… the more attention it attracts.

  Some will come seeking safety.

  Others will come seeking power.

And there are still many ancient forces in this world who believe monsters should only exist to be controlled… or consumed.

The Deep Weavers were only the first to challenge this new idea.

  They won’t be the st.

Next time we’ll begin exploring Floor 20 and Anya’s new domain, along with the changes her presence brings to the dungeon.
