Note – Eras

Era of Inventory: In 1977, the first usable database management system appeared, which accelerated information processing and storage. This enabled humanity to begin surveying, describing, and making searchable the world around it. In the first step, production and service processes were processed, then written knowledge became the focus of inventorying. Later – with the increase in computing capacities – an inventory was made of human interactions, and even later, of the material world at the compound, atomic, and then atomic bond levels. Meanwhile, huge space telescopes inventoried the surrounding universe. The end of the era of inventory would be difficult to define, as data is still constantly being added to the great inventory to this day. However, the system and its processes solidified by the mid-2030s. The catalogue of the spatial shapes of all molecules was completed. The catalogue of theoretically possible materials was completed. The central inventory enabled the creation of increasingly refined models, which aimed to predict the results of arbitrary processes as accurately as possible. Such processes could be those that wanted to predict and influence individuals' political votes, but it also included predicting the effect of proteins produced by DNA segments.

  Era of Change

2023 – GPT-4 and DALL-E 3 appear, bringing an inescapable change in the field of artificial intelligence. The era of change was partly created by the ocean of data accumulated during the Era of Inventory, but partly also by environmental challenges. We place it between 2023-2053. Technology reached a point where it was possible to think about matter at an atomic level, which changed the possibility of thinking about the material world in an unprecedented way, including biology and medical sciences. In parallel, however, climate change and those fighting against climate change also caused changes. The destruction of residences due to extreme weather, or eco-terrorist attacks against large corporations perceived as polluters, were everyday occurrences. Civilization simultaneously fought to keep its population alive and for the success of technology. In the former battle, it suffered a severe defeat.

The Great Migration, also known as the Era of Famine

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

2053 – The first occurrence of climate refugees not being accepted, thereby signing their death warrant. While parts of the Earth become depopulated with climate change, other places become overcrowded due to migration. Nation-states are initially welcoming, later, when their own existence is threatened, they become aggressive. They erect walls in the plains, making further migration impossible with electricity, poisonous gases, fire, and iron. Those in safety turn their heads away from those in trouble, accumulating food and weapons. Everyone knows that the day is near when they too will have to set out. Either due to environmental change or migration. Due to environmental catastrophes, and migration, the food, and energy supply chains collapse, practically destroying themselves. The accumulated reserves provide safety for a while, but soon all countries plunge back into anarchy.

  Reconstruction

  2089-2150

2089 is the beginning of the construction of the first prototype city. Nation-states withdraw into themselves, helplessly under their own ruins. The large corporations, however, successfully protected most of their assets and their employees everywhere in the world. They are aware that their thinking ability and decision-making speed far surpass that of the population plunged into anarchy and the helpless politicians. They recognize the historical opportunity to take control. To this end, they abandon their profit-maximizing activities and set new, long-term goals, which in these days means inspiring security. They buy up or occupy areas where they build knowledge-based cities. These cities later become a technological model. The remnants of the nation-states use this knowledge to build and operate their own cities.

  Preparation

From 2151 to the present day.

In 2151, the first robot mining colony is established on the Moon, to be followed by more and more on various celestial bodies. After society was stabilized, the project of stabilizing and expanding human living space began. The re-wilding of Earth and the artificial increase of biodiversity begin. At the same time, robots populate the planets and moons of the Solar System to mine and create space stations that house thousands of people far from Earth's uncertain unpredictability. The first phase of conquering outer space, the conquest of the Solar System, and the planning of the second phase, the conquest of the galaxy begins.
