After the battle, many of the crew members of the unit celebrated the victory, however, Suzina had nothing to be celebrating for. But as it happens, Justin was able to turn her frown upside down.
The unit has been in the air for some time now after leaving Brighton port. The inside of the space battleship was calm, uneasily quiet. As if it was the feeling of being unprepared for something that would never arrive. However, in the Strategics and Tactics Room, the air was tense.
"We should land in Zeeland since we might just be safer there since the harbinger went north, and we can only assume it kept going north!"
"No! We must land at North Holland! It is a direct and faster path southwards to Amsterdam and then to Antwerp."
"Obviously, we should just head for Amsterdam directly via the north and then go southwards!"
"Are you crazy? That's wasting so much time."
"Why don't we just land in Rotterdam, it's close to where we are at now."
"No way! We'll get hunted by that harbinger before anything!"
The final answer was not clear but what was clear was that the discussion was incredibly incoherent.
"We will land in South Holland and head to Harleem.", stated the captain, silencing the room.
"Ma'am with all due respect, that's where the harbinger was last seen, it's too risky!"
"Agreed!", the others shouted.
"Look, HQ is already trying all they can do to disband this unit. Due to the damages at Brighton, both the public and the military don't trust us. We need a victory if we are to keep in this mission."
"But is it really worth it? Let's land in Zeeland and stay out of the harbinger's radar."
"I would like that, but we cannot. We must get a victory if we are to keep serving humanity in our mission.", Eleanor stated.
"Well that's poetic. However, I do agree that we have no choice but to fight the harbinger directly.", someone said.
"I hate to say this, but I must agree as well.", another mentioned.
However, the Deputy Chief was in hesitation, he did not want to battle a harbinger just after the last.
"Fine, I agree."
Meanwhile in hangar 3
"Oh hey it's Suzina, you're finally awake.", said one of the crew members.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"Yea, I'm sorry about yesterday, I might have just been tired.", replied Suzina.
"Looks like Justin really changed your mind didn't he?"
"Yea he did... oh wait, how do you he came to me last night?"
"Oh come on, of course he would.", an engineer said, sparking laughter throughout the group of crew members.
"Wha- what do you mean?!", shocked and embarassed she said.
"Oh you know what I mean."
"All crew members, please report to the cafeteria for breakfast. The captain has an announcement", announced the voice on the intercom.
"Announcement? I wonder what this'll be about.", Suzina said to herself as they all made their way to the cafeteria.
Later at the cafeteria...
"I wonder what dinner is.", Suzina thought to herself.
Then, there was a voice on the intercom.
"All members, please pay attention to what the captain has to say."
"Our operation is to begin tomorrow. All members are to make the most of this day as we will be landing in South Holland. Therefore, we expect early combat with the a harbinger. I repeat, the operation begins tomorrow, we expect a battle early in the day, thus, we advise all crew members to make the most out of today."
Shocked were the crew members.
"South Holland?", they murmured.
"Isn't that place where the harbinger was last seen?"
"That's why she said expect early fighting you innocent girl.", Jolina said to Suzina.
After dinner, most crew members headed to their respective wuarters. However, Suzina instead made her way to hangar 3 which was practically empty, except for the presence of one person.
"Oh? Hello Mr. Head Engineer, what keeps you up this late?"
"Oh hey there Suzina, please, just call me Franks. Anyway, there's just something I can't wrap my head around when looking at your Aegis."
"What is it Sir Franks?"
"It's just that, somehow, our technology came from tanks to suddenly these big mechanical beings. When did we suddenly know how to make these?"
"Maybe someone just tried really hard to make it make sense."
"You know what Suzina, maybe you're right. Maybe my suspicious are nothing at all. Anyhow, you ought to go to sleep, big day tomorrow."
"Understood Sir Franks, and I think it'd be just as beneficial to you to get some sleep."
And soon, she left towards her room.
However, Franks was still looking at the Aegis, in a way that just screams, "How did you come to be?"
"Descend, let's avoid early detection.", the captain ordered.
"Ok then, you guys ought to go get some rest.", she added.
And after a while, the bridge was empty, empty excluding two people, the captain and the deputy chief.
"I said go get some rest, I can take care of things."
"Oh no need Cap'n, you need someone to split the controls with."
"Oh well if you insist.", Eleanor replied.
Next day...
"Ascend, Status:R! All men to combat stations, get Suzina ready for deployment as well as our FOBPA's."
"Load the missile launchers with Thermites and Plowders. Prepare the main beam cannons!", then the Deputy Chief commanded.
However, as the battleship ascended, they were shocked. There was no harbinger in sight, even as the horizon extended afar, there was nothing.
Even as the FOBPA's did reconassiance, they found nothing, but on the empty field there was what seemed to be an empty town.
And not before long, the captain ordered a task force to go down and search the town.
"Any sightings?"
"Nothing still, sir."
"Why is there absolutely nothing?", the squad leader thought to himself.
But as the task force was about to turn a corner, their hearts sank and time froze.
There was still no sign of a harbinger, instead, they saw humans, humans that had their guns
pointed at them.
It seemed to be a military task force as well, something HQ did not tell them about.
"Pidnemite ruki!", the opposing soldier ordered.
With no choice, the task force had to disarm and surrender.
"Wait a second...", the task force group leader wondered.
"That star, aren't you... Eurasian?"
