The night was quiet, until it wasn’t. The gustling of wind spearing through her ears as she ran with her husband and children. The constant fear of being chased by people who only believe in societal norms. The people who couldn’t believe that the two most trusted teens of this split world would go and do something like this.
Before she could react she heard her name, “Brooklyn!” He yells out, the two small babies crying in his arms as he rocked them and tried to quiet them down. He reaches over as best he can and nudges Brooklyn, “Brook, get up!” She groaned softly as her eyes slowly opened.
“What?” She groaned out as she looked at him then at the two little ones in his arms, “Why are you up? Why are they up?” She asks as she brings her hands up to rub her eyes. Matthew took a deep breath as he sat down on the bed, gently setting one of the little girls into Brooklyn's arms. “Brook, they found out, they're on their way here right now, they're looking for us and our little girls.: He explains, Alice calming down as Brooklyn held her little girl close.
Brooklyn looks at him in disbelief then glances down at Alice, “But.. we, we kept them hidden though, they shouldn’t have found out. They shouldn’t have found out Matthew. How did they find out?” She asks frantically as she scrambles to get up, holding one of her little girls close to her chest. Matthew just stared at her for a second then grabbed her hand, “Brook, sit down, we have a few minutes before we have to run. Their still an hour out.” He says then takes a deep breath.

“We tried out hardest, but it didn’t work out. It doesn’t help that you snuck past the border, it’s hard. But we’ll get through it, we just have to run to keep them safe got it?” He asks searching her eyes for any possibility of not wanting to do any of this anymore. Brooklyn nods, she would never give up on this relationship, on these babies, ever. Brooklyn took a breath.
“Alright, we need to split up then.” She says, “You take Madison, I’ll take Alice, we meet back up tomorrow, make a loop, meet back at this motel, or somewhere close, like the diner a couple miles down. Got it? That’s the best chance we’ll get.” She says then looks at Madison, she leans over and gives Madison a kiss on the head then lifts her head back up and gives Matthew a quick kiss. “I’ll see you later.” She says, then gets up to go pack a bag for her and Alice.
