  Country: The Kingdom of Cascadia

  A vast realm spanning an entire continent, rich with diverse landscapes ranging from deserts and meadows to snowy highlands and deep forests. The kingdom is ruled by a single monarch, whose authority extends over all regions.

  The Power: Quanta

  Quanta is a current that flows through one's veins, responding to the user's intent. When controlled properly, it can perform extraordinary feats; when overused, it can cause severe injury—or even death. Though often inherited, Quanta may also manifest unpredictably in those without family ties to known users.

  Mechanics of Quanta:

  A user draws Quanta with intention, projecting it outward in various forms such as force, blades, sparks, or even explosions. The strength and precision of the effect depend on the user's control and chosen medium.

  Medium:

  A medium is a specific channel through which a Quanta user amplifies their power. Raw Quanta alone can perform simple, non-lethal tasks—such as lifting or pushing objects—to ease the user's daily life. However, when focused through a medium, its effects become far more potent and destructive.

  Metal serves as a universal medium, usable by nearly anyone capable of channeling Quanta, and is therefore the most common choice for combat or weaponary. Still, some users possess unique, personalized mediums that resonate more strongly with their individual Quanta, allowing them to channel energy with greater precision or intensity than metal ever could (can also use metal but not as good as their unique medium.)

  Veinguard:

  A containment system developed by Elderwatch to prevent fatal overuse of Quanta. Implanted near the user's right carotid artery, the Veinguard emits an initial warning through vein aching when a user is nearing their limit. Continued strain causes an automatic suppression of power, forcing the Quanta to shut down before it becomes lethal.

  Organizations

  Elderwatch:

  A secret authority established centuries ago under royal command. Its purpose is to monitor and regulate the use of Quanta, maintaining secrecy to prevent war and chaos. Elderwatch is also responsible for locating, containing, or eliminating dangerous and unstable users.

  Elkington Academy:

  A secluded boarding school nestled in the valley of Valebridge. Officially, it appears to be a normal academy—but in truth, it was founded to recruit, train, and protect Quanta users. Its mission is to help students master their powers safely while preserving the secrecy of Quanta from the outside world.

  Starshade Guild:

  A public guild known for taking on a wide range of requests, from ordinary errands to morally gray undertakings. Outwardly, it appears to be a large, independent guild; in reality, it serves as a filter system. Certain high-risk missions involving Quanta are redirected to Elderwatch, while low-risk or training missions are sent to Elkington Academy for student practice.

  Elkington Academy System

  Recruitment:

  Students are discovered either through "suspicious" mission encounters (for the na?ve or unaware) or via genetic tracking, particularly among the descendants of alumni.

  Dormitories:

  There are eight houses, each named after trees and located near the surrounding forests: Oak Crest, Willow Shade, Maple Glade, Elm Ridge, Cedar Grove, Birch Haven, and Pine Hollow.

  Lavender Vales serves as the first home for younger students under thirteen and all new recruits. They remain there until passing the examination to enter another house—unless placed elsewhere under special circumstances.
