Chapter 47- New Enemies

Asha stands among a huge group of other Knights, led by Jonah, standing tall in front of the crowd, arms crossed when she hears Jonah scream out to everyone to get into position.

Someone is attacking and no one there knew who, other than Jonah.

A similar crowd of viscous soldiers rushes over the plain in front of the monumental main gate.

Jonah sternly commands everyone to hold.

The two armies clash, blows and armor clash and in the middle is Asha, nearly helpless in a non support role but still positioned in the front lines.

Meanwhile, a smaller, though still large, group makes their way in front of Ferrul and Warren's squadron.

Led by a tall, elegant woman and an unstable, erratic blonde-haired man in the front, commanding a troop of obviously less experienced soldiers.

In the back stands a tall, stoic man who commands attention just by walking.

Next to him is a chiseled man with shaggily slicked back black hair.

The group clears a path for the black haired man, who walks with confidence among the soldiers he had made his army.

The man stops when he steps past the man and woman in the front and offers a proposition.

He's staring daggers at Warren, like no one else exists in the entire city while he talks.

"I expected you to be a bit more heavily staffed."

"But apparently you only have three people here worth anything and I only see two."

"I won't complain about not needing to worry about being stepped on by titans like Jermaine or Lucius."

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

He looks over to Ferrul for a moment.

"Though maybe you lot found a real titan."

He chuckles to himself before continuing.

"One of you knows why I'm here."

"Warren, friend, please come up to the front."

Warren clears a path through his crowd as the man instructed.

His face is the most serious anyone there has ever seen.

  "Cyrus..."

"Leave now and you wont lose every one of your little toy soldiers you've collected."

A collective chill runs down the spines of every man and woman on both sides, other than Cyrus who simply chuckles before continuing.

"Well now, there's no reason to be so volatile, frien-"

Warren cuts through his words like a blade.

"You lost the right to call me that on this field seven years ago."

Cyrus' face goes stone cold, finally taking Warren seriously.

"So, I guess I should cut to the chase then, General."

"Either you order all of your soldiers down and let me take your head, here and now."

"Or I will tear through your little walls and stomp out the pathetic flame keeping you alive before running through your pathetic city, killing each and every pathetic noble you've upheld all this time, freeing all of their servants as I go."

"Before I kill your cowardly, pathetic dog of a king, who's spent his whole life cowering away in his castle.

"If that sounds good to you, refuse my offer."

"If you'd like a peaceful takeover and execution then get down on your knees."

Warren stands tall, face still stone cold, unmoving.

  Cyrus looks annoyed.

"Well I guess we have our answer."

"Henry, you know what to do-"

Cyrus is cut off by a massive ice mound falling down on top of his army.

The mass of frozen water crashes down on the army, massacring nearly every soldier present.

The iceberg melts away surprisingly quickly, revealing only three remaining members of this side of the rebel's forces.

Cyrus has both of his hands held high, seeming to almost create a force field around the three.

"Damn, shoulda known better than to recruit a so called former Commander."

"Shoulda known it was too good to be true that such a monumental force just fell into my hands."

"But something that I do know is to not clash with titans."

"Hopefully, Cassius, you won't get in my way from here, right."

Cassius, who stands behind the three, quietly nods.

Cyrus then looks back at Warren.

  "So, where were we."

  "Right."

"Henry, go after that red-haired boy in the front, he seems decently strong for his rank."

"Anna, go after the brute in the back, kill anyone on the way there."

  "I'll take Warren."

Yellow lightning bolts fly at James, nearly too fast to react.

Anna tears through nearly the entire army with ease, cutting through each person with her spear.

Cyrus and Warren simply stand off, ready for whatever the other one has in store.
