When I got home, I was surprised to see an interstellar ambassador van camped in front of our house. What could they possibly be doing here? My mind started to race as all the possibilities went through my head. My favorite, of course, was that I was about to get a one-way ticket to Titan, the worst I was in trouble for interstellar crime, not that I had committed an interstellar crime.
I walked to the door, and the first thing I heard was Uncle Josh complaining.
"Why would you want him out of all people?"
I walked into the living room to see my aunt and uncle seated on the couch with an interstellar ambassador. The ambassador looked up at me and then kept talking, which was fine with me. I was intrigued.
"Because, according to our tests, he has Dark Matter Manipulation skills above those of an average human."
At this, I wanted to run and jump for joy. I was getting off of this godforsaken planet! I would never have to deal with bullies, aunts and uncles, or principals ever again. In space, I would be treated like an adult and would be given my own rights. Life had finally taken a turn for the better.

"And what exactly does that mean?" my uncle asked, still being stubborn.
"It means that the average human can only manipulate an amount of Dark Matter about the size of a penny, which will do you virtually nothing. People who have these types of manipulation levels will never improve much, as our studies say. However, if I gave your son here as much Dark Matter as he wished, he could manipulate about a small orange worth of Dark Matter, so to speak."
I loved to see my 'parents' get shot down by this. This random fact that I knew by heart meant that I would never have to see them again, and they would get a smaller house because I wouldn't be living with them anymore.
"So as I was saying," the man continued. "His flight to Titan will take about two weeks, and if he wants to go, he can go no matter what you say."
I could tell this guy had explained this a million times now, and he had no enthusiasm for me.
"Do you wish to go to Titan and train in the Titan Academy, Wyatt Cleveland Krozzer?"
"Yes, sir," I said as my legs went weak. This was so surreal. I had figured that my time was up when I turned thirteen, and each year that passed after that let down my hope even more. Still, here I was going back to the planet that I was born on, that my parents were killed on, and that I would avenge the monster that killed my parents. It was time to fulfill my destiny.
