Mucus?

Rendara calmly began analyzing everything that had happened in Sunka’s inn.

Step by step, he walked through the room, examining every corner, trying to understand what had truly occurred.

  “Hmm…Is this pure magic…?”

  He frowned slightly.

“Why does it feel strange…?The aura of this magic is completely different from the opponents I’ve faced before.”

  Then something caught his attention.

  “Slime…?”

  He crouched down.

“Magic? What is this? Why are there slimes with so many different colors?”

Without hesitation, Rendara touched one of them.

  Suddenly—

  A bright light burst out.

  “Ah—!! Too bright!!”

  He squinted.

  “Eh…?”

Even though the light was blinding, Rendara felt no pain at all, especially in the hand touching the slime.

Strangely, the slime began changing color.

It turned into a dense, pure white.

“Huh??What is this supposed to mean…?”

  Then suddenly—

The inn slowly began to fade.

  The walls lost their form.

  The structure started burning.

Rendara immediately rushed toward the unconscious innkeeper.

  “Mr. Sunka!!MR. SUNKA!!!”

  Sunka slowly regained consciousness.

  “Eh…?What is happening?!My inn!!!”

Even though the fire was spreading inside the building, Rendara didn’t tell him to run outside immediately.

  Instead, he asked:

“Mr. Sunka! Is there anything you want to save!?”

Sunka immediately snapped into action and began grabbing his valuables.

  Meanwhile Rendara stepped outside, thinking.

“What exactly happened…?I’m sure I neutralized their attacks…This inn shouldn’t have been affected!!Damn…”

He calmly observed the burning structure.

  “What is this…?”

Sunka finally escaped the building safely.

  “Ahh… huff…Eh??”

He looked at himself in confusion.

“Why am I not injured at all…?”

  Then he suddenly realized something.

  “Ah…That must be the adventurer’s doing… Rentaro.”

  Rendara smiled slightly.

  “That’s right, Mr. Sunka.But… I’m sorry. I couldn’t save everything.”

Sunka sighed as he remembered the bandits.

“Ah… those bandits. They’re well known for robbing people here.Ah well… what can you do…”

Seeing the disappointment on Sunka’s face, Rendara offered help.

“Then how about I help extinguish the fire?”

Sunka immediately shook his head with a tired expression.

“Impossible. It’s absolutely impossible to extinguish it.”

“The damage here cannot be put out with simple water. This is something far more complex.”

  Rendara’s curiosity instantly grew.

“What do you mean, Mr. Sunka?”

  Sunka sighed.

“Give me some time, young adventurer…”

He looked toward the nearby houses.

“I think you’ll find the answer yourself…Just look at the vilgers. None of them are helping put out the fire.”

He looked at the fmes again.

“Because it’s pointless…This fire cannot be extinguished.”

  Inside his mind, Rendara smiled.

  Interesting…

But outwardly, he simply showed sympathy.

“Well… I hope you stay strong, Mr. Sunka.I’m rooting for you.”

  Sunka smiled gratefully.

“Thank you, kid.For now… let me stay here alone.”

  Then he suddenly remembered something.

“Oh right. If you still need a pce to stay… why not stay at my house?”

  Rendara looked confused.

“You mean the same house Lily went to earlier?”

  Sunka chuckled.

“No. Lily is just the neighbor’s kid. Our houses are close.”

  He handed Rendara a key.

  “Here. Take this.”

  Rendara accepted it.

  “Alright, Mr. Sunka.”

Holding the key, Rendara slowly walked through the region of Geterds, observing everything.

Even though he was tired, he refused to sleep.

Instead, he used magic to keep his body fresh.

“Is there something I don’t know…?Was the knowledge from the royal library still incomplete?”

  He frowned.

“How could a citizen of Geterds use magic…?”

Eventually he arrived near Lily’s house.

Rather than entering immediately, he decided to enjoy the approaching dawn.

“Even if I don’t sleep…I still want to enjoy this natural moment as a human.”

The sky was still deep blue.

The night slowly began turning into morning.

Stars faded one by one, as if gently pulled away by the approaching light.

  The air was cold.

But it was no longer silent.

A rooster crowed in the distance.

  Leaves rustled softly.

Someone walked along the damp dirt road.

Rendara stopped in front of a house that stood slightly apart from the others.

“Hmm… this must be the pce.”

The house was rge for this region.

  Well-maintained wooden walls.High roof.Wide windows.

Not luxurious like a noble’s mansion.

But clearly owned by someone important.

  Yet it remained simple.

  No statues.

  No guards.

Only a wide porch with a fading mp.

  Rendara inserted the key.

  “Ah! It works.”

  Click.

  The door opened.

Warm air and the scent of old wood welcomed him.

  Inside was quiet.

  Still asleep.

  He stepped inside.

  Then suddenly—

  Something ran past him.

  Fast.

  Chaotic.

  Almost human.

  Rendara immediately became alert.

  “A monster?But no fur…”

  “A goblin?But it’s not green…”

  Then he raised his voice.

  “A human??!”

  The creature screamed.

  “AAAAAAAAAA!!!THIEF!!!PERVERT!!!”

Rendara immediately backed away and stepped outside.

“Did I enter the wrong house…?”

At least that was his only expnation.

  The noise woke the vilgers.

  “What happened?”“A thief?”“Where?”“A pervert?!”

  Someone shouted.

“The scream came from Mr. Sunka’s house! His niece Sasa is inside!”

  “Don’t let that pervert escape!”

The vilgers rushed toward the house.

  Meanwhile Rendara simply stood there.

  Waiting.

  “Oh… they’re coming.”

  He smiled slightly.

“Now then… are they the same as before?”

  Suddenly—

  A machete flew toward him.

  He didn’t dodge.

  A vilger shouted:

  “Yes! It hit him!”

  But another vilger looked confused.

  “Why isn’t he screaming…?”

Rendara calmly picked up the weapon.

“What is this…?Why is the effect completely different…?”

  Then he understood.

“So it’s true…Not everyone has that strange magic.”

  He concluded quietly.

“Geterds is still just Geterds. What happened earlier was merely an anomaly.”

  The vilgers were horrified.

  “He’s fine…?”

  Then someone shouted.

“Attack him!!He’s a perverted monster disguised as a human!”

  Dozens of weapons were thrown.

  Rendara simply said one word.

  “PARRY.”

  Every weapon bounced away.

  The vilgers panicked.

  “What is happening?!”“Impossible!”

Lily woke up from the noise.

“Yaaawn… why is it so loud…Can’t this pce ever be peaceful…”

Then she heard a familiar voice.

“Everyone… please listen. I can expin.”

  Lily froze.

  “Eh…? That voice…”

  “Rentaro??!”

  She ran outside immediately.

As she ran, she heard vilgers shouting.

“Just confess!!”“Cut your own head off, pervert!!”

  She screamed.

  “STOP!!!!!!!”

  At that moment—

A vilger swung a katana at Rendara’s neck.

  The bde hit.

  But nothing happened.

  “WHAT?!”

  Lily arrived crying.

  “Rentaro!!! No!!! Don’t die!!!”

  The vilgers stepped aside.

  “Wait… you know him?”

  Someone asked.

“Is this monster your friend, Lily?”

  Lily looked confused.

  “Monster…?”

  Then Sasa arrived.

  Elegant clothes.

  Cold eyes.

  “Yes. A monster.A perverted monster.”

  She pointed at Rendara.

  “He harassed me!”

  The vilgers murmured.

“The w is clear,” Sasa said.

“Anyone guilty must be beheaded. No matter what creature they are.”

  Lily shook her head.

“No! That’s impossible!Mr. Rentaro would never do that!”

“Even if we just met…I know he’s a good person!”

  Sasa gred.

  “Stop defending him!”

  Lily replied firmly.

“I’m only stating what I believe.”

  The tension grew.

  Then Sasa said something cruel.

“You must be hypnotized, Lily. That pervert probably pyed with your body already.”

  Lily’s eyes burned with anger.

“WHAT DID YOU SAY?!I WON’T ACCEPT THAT!”

  Suddenly—

A powerful aura erupted from both of them.

  The ground cracked.

Their hands trembled from the pressure.

  “Prepare yourself, Sasa!”

  “You too, Lily!”

  Meanwhile Rendara simply watched.

  Analyzing carefully.

  Then he smiled slightly.

  “Interesting…”

  “This isn’t like before.”

“This is real mana…the real magic I know.”
