Hello gents, it's been a hot minute since I've spent any time on Varda Walk. However, after I finished book 3 of the other series I found myself with a bit of an itch to go back to my first child, with a hammer and a chisel. I'm going back through and doing line edits, in some cases minor re-writes. In some cases there might be major re-writes, but overall, probably not much because I love the story, if not my execution of it so much. Predominantly though, I'm going to be fixing the organization of the original run on Royal road, which was done in webserial format, with chapter lengths of purely arbitrary structure not really related to the plot. I hate the way it's published here, to be honest.

  Toward that end, after I finish doing the work on Book 1, I'll delete all the chapters of the first book and repost them in the way I actually wanted them to be read. I also redid all of the tables and images. All of them, goddamnit, and it's been a massive pain in the ass long overdue. Partly because I managed to come up with a format I could live with that RR's table formatting doesn't just fucking eat and mangle beyond recognition, courtesy of Survivor's guide. That's growth for you, you get better at stuff by doing it more.

  Current progress on the update is about a third of the way through the first book over the last week. Going back over it, this was a hell of an ambitious first try at fiction y'all. Goddamn there's a lot to go over here. Anyhow, I just thought I'd give any fans of the fiction a bit of a heads up that they have something to maybe look forward to, I dunno, I'm doing the work regardless, I always write for me first, but I might as well share the results. Anyhow, just thought I'd share what I've been up to the last little bit.
