Chapter 237 — Great Celebration, But Also Rage

  Great Celebration, But Also Rage

“Since when did you decide to have it happen? And so soon…” With Nala and Esmeralda sitting on Fox's sides, Vanessa looked at them, supporting her head with her elbow on the backrest. Esmeralda smiled, about to explain every bit of their relationship, when Nala beat her to it and straightened her back to face Vanessa.

“It was after Esmeralda sneaked her way back into my man’s life,” Nala’s voice rang out. She nodded a little, backed by Vanessa, who also nodded a bit back. “Afterwards, it wasn’t any good time. But after the Second Ters-Ly War, seeing this much conflict, we opted for this path.”

“I see, Nala. Thank you,” Vanessa nodded a few more times before placing a ‘supporting’ hand on Nala’s shoulder. Then, she looked at Fox and questioned the ‘weak’ man who can’t say no. “What are your plans, then? Will you honor them both?”

“Of course. I’m marrying them at the same time. What else would I do? As for first wife and so on, such thing is dumb, only in corny movies nowadays.” Fox jolted his neck back, feeling a false sense of slight insult. Vanessa nodded, with Nala lifting her nose proudly.

Esmeralda protruded her lower lip out, smiling a bit and looking as cute and as adorable as allowed. Vanessa looked at each of them before sighing, realizing all of this would happen, and who knew how more. She just wished she could remain part of it all.

Esmeralda seemed to read into this, as she grabbed Vanessa’s wrists and placed them on her crossed legs before resting hers on top. She looked intently into Vanessa’s eyes and nodded continuously, speaking with a reassuring tone, “We’ll have to trouble you with some things. I hope you don’t mind. It’s all 3 of us who want it. Well, we spoke Foxie through it…”

Esmeralda went on to brag about how well-maintained Fox’s attitude and social events were going thanks to them, with emphasis on herself. Nala nodded here and there, further backing Esme up, while Fox remained in the middle, looking into the emptiness as Vanessa smiled.

  . . .

Next week. Fox’s rural mansion, outside Proteros City, and a few kilometers away. On a zone where only his mansion was the only terrain ‘taken’ from a long distance.

It was the 2nd month’s 2nd week, 2nd day. Even when randomly pulling up a schedule, and using barely some decorations, just to make the mansion look like a palace indoors where the ceremony would be held, it became quite a notorious date.

Fox wore a sweet tuxedo, with a bright, striking black and bright, light gray below it, matching a blood-red tie. His hair was well-cut, giving him a machiavellian, rich aesthetic, even though that wouldn’t make him handsome out of nowhere. He looked elegant, dashing even.

The world wasn’t aware that their ‘heavensbane’ was being married off, more or less. Even the President, who seemed to be busy today for some matters, which the populace related to the eastern continuation of the Radical Wars, was missing from the morning.

Yet, in a well-sized mansion, with so much terrain it could evolve into an enormous villa in the future, a marvelous, reuniting wedding was just taking place.

Fox stood before a Silverplated Eagle, trained by some special agents owning resorts where such important animals were taken care of. The little guy on a podium was quite the expert in weddings, although it wasn’t as old as others, but quite young instead.

He had just walked up to the little step where the podium was. It had room for 5 people to stand side by side, and a couple more rows in between, when numerous light footsteps sounded from behind. Fox turned his head just in time to see 2 beauties walk in by Vanessa’s hands.

Behind Nala was Butler, Egoaiz Prein, escorting her to the altar while the groom’s parent guided the bride, brides in this case, to the center. Behind Esmeralda, who was all smiles and bright like a sun in the middle of a galaxy, was Luis, escorting her proudly and with a thin smile.

Lesly looked from the center-left, as did everyone else along Fox, who couldn’t stop looking. Whatever morals to only appreciate beauty, intimacy, and familiar bonds in public were, they were gone the moment images like these appeared in one’s sight.

Fox teased a little smile before turning to face the front, waiting for them to take his sides, or stand together beside him. Esme and Nala were a sight to utterly and bafflingly behold.

Nala’s natural expressions and attitude captivated even those who did not think her appearance would captivate them successfully. She had a cold and indifferent face, with a new, pristine steel-like color from her gray, light blue eyes. Her medium long blonde hair was a little picked up, forming tendrils slightly above her forehead’s corners and down her cheek.

Esmeralda had a much worked hairstyle, comprised of a series of small buns behind and atop her head, giving her a crown-like appearance, and expressing pure joy in her eyes and wide smile. Her bosom was something impossible to not notice, even when it was lovely hugged by a diamond-shining section of her dress. She had gauntlets larger than Nala’s gloves, showing a much fancier attire. Nala wasn’t so fancy, but she looked exquisitely unreachable.

They were goddesses, and funnily enough, both were natural, striking blondes with incredible figures. Yet, they were both moving towards the same man, to be married off to him.

As they approached the step, they lowered their eyes, suddenly becoming a delicate and fragile scenery. Nala and Esmeralda lifted their eyes after soon after, meeting Fox’s back and broad shoulders, which were waiting and lonely.

Smiling, even Nala, slightly from her lips, they lifted their feet and stepped up. Everyone around the ceremonial podium gasped in appreciation, although females were heard the most.

As typical of ordinary marriages, more so from the not well-off, the podium was at the center, while seats were distanced a few meters from them. All around them. There weren’t many people, but everyone had the correct eyes: shiny and engrossed.

This was Fox, whom they knew at least well. Those were Esmeralda and Nala, who were known for being a little growing gem and the President’s daughter, and a successful infrastructure and metal supplier, besides a special agent with Fox.

Esmeralda’s status in the secret world, which was still negligible, wasn’t known to anyone but the elite PSD, let alone the public.

From the Ruvas’ side, Lorena and Bruno squeezed their intertwining fingers and a smile to each other’s faces. Her eyes were fully focused on the moment afterwards, watching the customs go on as Fox received both brides. Mermelada and her wife watched just as intently.

Luis and Ego looked at each other before letting go of the hands they offered to let their girls ceremonially push from and step up.

Nala and Esme looked back. Nala was more indifferent than ever, slightly nodding at Ego before turning and taking Fox’s left, walking behind Esmeralda. The latter looked back at her father with wide open, downturned eyes. She then narrowed them and smiled, scrunching her nose before turning around to take her spot beside Nala, whom she hooked an arm with.

Once both beauties and brides were on his left, Fox took a look at them. Their dresses weren’t much, but they felt so nice to touch… Nala’s wedding dress was gray, a little silver-plated, such as the eagle before them. Esmeralda’s wedding dress was of a pale platinum, shoving their marrying image with a little more of ‘colorful movement’.

Whiistlee~… From the crowd, the special agent, trainer of the Silverplated Eagle, sounded a high-pitched, low sound whistle. The eagle lifted its neck and straightened its back, its body hung backwards a bit. It looked at Fox before eyeing the brides.

Flap, flap- FLAP! Then, it lifted its wings and soundlessly opened its beak before fluttering its feathers. It looked like it would shed them off and turn into something else, but they glowed a bit from the light before it flapped once, looking at Esmeralda and Nala. Then twice, staring at Fox’s polycoria eyes. At last, it flapped again, this time taking to the air high up, just below the ceiling.

Its control was seamless, smooth, unstoppable. But the eagle looked not just majestic; it had ruthlessness, rebelliousness, and the haughtiness of being untouchable. Fox, Nala, and Esmeralda looked up as its back softly rubbed against the smooth ceiling.

Criiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~~! The eagle flew in small circles around them a bit more before diving, to which the three on the step were already nearer the podium. The eagle impacted the podium’s surface, marveling the audience, before using its wings, which became thicker and wider after fluttering in the air with its feathers, to cover them from every eye.

With the ‘outside’ knowing nothing, and the ‘parents’ of the three smiling contentedly, Fox gave each of his sweet wives a gentle kiss. Then, he saw them kiss each other. Esmeralda took precedence before Nala, being more proactive.

Seeing his wives lovely grant each other a kiss, as Nala followed Esmeralda’s footsteps with such passionate love when her turn came, made Fox obscenely willing to talk about life.

After being kissed by their husband, Esmeralda kissed him back before cutely holding Nala’s shoulders, near her neck, by placing her hands atop them. Nala was a bit taken aback, but she quickly enjoyed it. Meanwhile, as their lengthy kiss went on, Fox and the eagle looked on, stupefied, with Fox’s hand ruffling its upper chest a bit.

Then, Nala’s turn came, and she slowly and lengthily returned the kiss to Fox, before turning to Esmeralda. The latter’s face blushed, quite a bit shy, but Nala only let her have 1 second to think before gently grabbing her neck and eating her mouth. Slow… passionate; eyes weakly closed.

It made Fox further hungry, not realizing how starving he had been, upon seeing Nala direct and lightly pounce her head back and forth on Esmeralda’s face.

Once they were done with their ‘formalities’, their foreheads on one another, the eagle blinked its experienced eyes before slowly lifting its wings. Its legs stood on a talon, causing Fox to lift an eyebrow in appreciation. The amount of strength and control necessary for that…

Cheeeeeeers~…. The crowd was becoming a little noisy, making Esmeralda smile. Nala’s eyes were lovestruck, gazing at them back and forth. Once their heads showed, their foreheads on together, the less than 30 guests went mad with gusto.

“Finally!” - “Hahahaha!” - “My gosh, they are so tender…” - “Congratulations~~…” - “Congratulations, President.” - “Likewise, Ego. Likewise.” - “Look at them~! Aren’t they the sweetest?” - “I swear, big brother is soooo lucky… Don’t you even think!” - “I am not, Fabi…” - “When are the babies comiiiiiing~!?” - “Woooohooo!” - “Welp, the agents are the loudest, who would’ve thought?” - “It’s all Raging Blood’s fault, Cap.” - “Yess!”

It didn’t take long for the smiley new husband and wives to be surrounded by their counterparts’ parents. Fox was grabbed and pulled by Ego and Luis, while Nala and Esmeralda gently went with Vanessa, who had a small circle with Mona, Teon, and the other females.

After some planning, both sides went at it and started the major celebration in Fox’s mansion. Now, it was no longer ‘Fox, Nala, and Esmeralda’s mansion’, but the ‘Caolian Mansion’. It was a change that, despite thinking nothing of it before whatsoever, made Fox smile.

Nala and Esmeralda were also smiling and joyous to see Fox process everything. From hereon, they were married.

Festivities began, with the magnificent eagle gaining itself some top-notch, worldwide renown meat. It would most likely save most of it and bring back to its nest.

The rest of the guests were tranquil, even if some were loud at times. Everyone had gone through the mansion tour after arriving early in the morning, but once the festivities began, none except Fox wanted to remain inside.

With dragging feet, Fox was brought around to meet everyone whom he already invited by his wives. They forced him to chat a little or at least be present in front of everyone as some chatter was exchanged. He didn’t forget to show off, especially in front of Luis, and Vanessa as well.

The food was marvelous. Many, many 9th Order pizza boxes were stored in the right place inside the mansion, fresh and cold beside the wood fire ovens, semi-automatized. A new liquor, an invention Fox was still debating on how to use, was also present.

All in all, the wedding began harmonious and quiet, becoming louder and more celebratory, before finally becoming a party at its greatest splendor. Late night was its closing, all brought to their homes in Proteros City, except for Vanessa, Teon, and Nala’s team, including Miros and Elega, who worshiped the married trio all day.

The only one who wasn’t there to celebrate his wedding was Roam, but without Luis and Lesly at the precinct, who knew how awkward would tomorrow be. That was what Luis said to Fox, anyway. Like this, a brand-new life started in Lymoca; perhaps the world.

  ***

2 weeks later. Year 1,028, 2nd month, 4th week, 4th day. Proteros City. Presidential precinct.

The mini-airport was being prepared. 3 dozen fighters with 3 times that size of combat helicopters were being readied to be deployed. There was a set of Miros’s babies per helicopter, with only one heavy combat helicopter, which the treasure of the group would board.

In Luis’s office, only Fox and Luis were present, with the rest getting ready, all consisting of PSD agents besides the fighters’ pilots. Outside were the next term’s candidates, still amidst honing their capabilities. But only 4 years more, and they would take the reins directly from Luis’s hands. How could they feel anything and not be nervous despite their learning program?

“What did you want to show me?” Fox spoke to his father-in-law, who hasn’t uttered a word to tease him about giving him new grandchildren so far. Only Esmeralda considered getting pregnant, even if not immediately, as times aren’t the correct, after it all.

“There, just in time.” Luis stood beside Fox, serious and mature, more than ever. The President has become like such for the past few months, seemingly finding a common ground as of late, and finding his way to showcase it exemplarily.

Fox looked at the mini-airport, which Luis wanted to turn into a hangar lately. He followed the President’s finger and watched as more aircraft turned from a precinct’s storage and out into the airport. They were quite a bit long, and some had heavy artillery guns equipped.

There were 2 dozen of them, each half for each type. There was no mistake, these were new drones, seemingly bombing type, and looked quite threatening. This was just with Fox barely entering the world of building these complicated weapons of massive destruction.

“What are these little things, now?” Fox was marveled, regardless of what he felt when seeing these new Lymocan drones; surprised and baffled. Luis smiled at this reaction, proudly crossing his arms and nudging his chin upwards in the air.

“They are Miros and Elega’s first children,” said Luis. Fox dropped his eyelids and rolled his eyes a bit, ‘Here we go.’

“These are magnificent tools, which I was too unwilling to use in our people.” Luis added. Fox nodded lightly. It was no wonder he didn’t see them, even when Colmillo was confirmed to have many free hours before he returned from the Radical Wars in the southwest.

“Are they really that powerful?” Fox questioned, already wanting to create mayhem elsewhere, where he’d get much more room to do whatever he wanted… if allowed.

“What do you think? It’s not combat-proof yet. Zero tests have been employed during conflict, or worthy enough for a thorough evaluation. That’s gonna be you,” Luis scoffed before speaking these words. “How are they? They might not look like much, but in the future… Hm…”

“…?” Fox looked at the President, who snarkily kept whatever he was going to say to himself. Fox shook his head and commented, releasing his crossed arms, followed by Luis. “What’s the point of hiding things from me? What good is there in that, pops-in-law?”

“Only 4 people know about it. You won’t get to know it just because you made it into my family line, kid.” Luis spoke with a grin. Such a grin was disgusting and lifeless in Fox’s eyes, but not worth to draw a family feud for.

“How’s that book going?” Luis asked after a few seconds, watching the aircraft arrive. Fox was about to leave but stopped. He contemplated a bit before saying, “That archaic book is a total mystery to me. In any case, I’ll leave it here for now, since I’ve ‘read’ it more than 10 times.”

“Tell me if you’d like some help after you return. We might find something together,” Luis nodded and almost patted Fox’s back, stopping and shrugging afterwards.

Fox turned around and walked to the door, with Luis following right after. The next term’s candidates and some cabinet members had some idle chatter, slowly coming to a halt as the two most venerated people in Lymoca, and popular nowadays, came out.

“Anything to add before Fox leaves, people?” Luis looked at them and briefly smiled. Fox stopped and looked at them, blinking once before expelling a bit of air through his nostrils. Luis shrugged again, this time humorously. He added, “I would’ve liked to hear at least one idea from you on how to facilitate the southern countries’ integration to Lymoca.”

  “Uh…” - “Well…” - “President, you might figure it out before we do, haha…” - “This…”

These people had no idea. Of course, it was a matter of utmost difficulty, complexity, with a lot of room for failure. But even then, Luis and his cabinet did indeed have some progress done. At least in planning. However, they wouldn’t help these candidates, they still needed a lot of learning.

Fox looked at them, then at the emptiness before him, before blurting out. “Well, I got an idea.”

“Oh?” Luis casually lifted his eyebrows and faced Fox. Then, he grinned a little, “Don’t tell me is that about forming an empire? Hahaha.”

“Hahahaha!” The group laughed, although they weren’t as warm and ‘chuckly’ as Luis was, or as quiet.

Fox wasn’t moved by any of these, though. He shrugged a bit before spitting out, “Why not? It wouldn’t be those past empires, including the Lylaco Empire, which failed transitioning to a new form of rule. If you want to integrate them with a global sense, that would make sense.”

“But if you just want to let them play in and out of Lymoca’s territory and protection, you can just give the Valads and Avicas light pats on the wrist so they can do whatever they want.” Fox shrugged, this time looking obnoxious. He looked directly at Luis, “After all, the world believes you even from the other habitable half of our globe. Just a thought.”

“…” - “… … …” Luis was silent. The group was baffled. Some emitted light scoffs, maybe a whispered giggle, but Luis remained silent. After a couple of seconds like this, Luis formed a slow smile and shook his head. “It could be opportunistic, but not the direction I want.”

“The mistakes from the past will remain there. Now, go. Before you scare these babies more, and those children.” Luis ‘complained’, looking at the candidates before turning to his cabinet members. Fox turned his gaze from Luis to them before wordlessly turning around.

“President, you aren’t really thinking of…” - “That was uncalled for, wasn’t it? President, you must retain integrity, even if those with their heads high…” - “How strange, right?”

Fox heard some meager words on his back as he walked away to reunite with the rest, but he didn’t care. Luis seemed bothered by their reactions, more so as they dared to speak only after Fox left, not even giving an idea in return at the very least.

“Enough!” Luis calmly shouted, but he didn’t expect them to turn quiet and eat their necks into their bodies just because of that. He looked at them, a bit baffled, before bringing the conversation on the way to the intelligence base in the main precinct.

… A couple of hours later. The dozens and dozens of aircraft left the presidential precinct and Lymoca as a whole. Furthermore, they left the Lymocan waters, entering the Quarter Moon Ocean after overflying Lymaospasó.

The drones were seamless, almost undetectable, if it wasn’t because the Lymocan choppers had incredible outside-vision faculties. They flew near the choppers, but they could surpass Lymocan fighters’ speed by leaps and bounds.

The fighters accompanied them halfway through the Quarter Moon Ocean and left just about 40 minutes ago, with the aerial fleet continuing and nearing the EPA Commonwealth. Between the Commonwealth and Lymoca, they had more than good enough relations to protect each other, even if they were meant to go undercover.

It was only respectful of Lymoca to retreat their fighters before nearing EPA Commonwealth’s waters. As such, after receiving confirmation from the Commonwealth, nearing Preutorias’s southwestern extremity, Fox contacted Luis from his helicopter, one of the main ones.

The aerial fleet was well-formed, but not too far from each other, as most were helicopters. Even with Pugor engines, their peak speed couldn’t compare to Lymocan warplanes. There were 3 main helicopters, of which 2 were combat helicopters, and the other was the heavy weight.

That one remained in the middle, with Fox’s in front of it, and the other on the rear. The rear main helicopter had Nala’s team. Akina, Lyan, Miros, Colmillo, and a few elites that Fox selectively picked. It was a pity, but Alea was still critical, and Nol only attended Fox’s wedding through WID connection.

The middle one had Esmeralda and Nala, while Fox was alone at the center, with some Captains. Everyone had medium NUAs again, except Esmeralda, who meditated in her main chopper outside her high NUA.

“Well then, Fox. Give your greetings to the Commonwealth’s presidents. Even if you don’t want to, do so for me, alright?” Luis spoke through the comms. Fox voiced a quick agreeing harrumph. Luis added, “We’ll be counting on you lot. You know you have to ensure the prote-”

“!” Fox turned his head to the left, just as he was about to hang up on Luis and relax in the cargo area. He suddenly turned his head to the left, where the north was, and yelled as he let go of the radio handle. It continued emitting his voice as he went, “Red alert! Pivot the young and full speed ahead!”

“Fox, what is it…?” Fox heard Luis’s voice, but he didn’t give it importance. A moment later, it cut off, protecting communications of the aerial fleet. The entire fleet reacted, with a coded message shooting to the EPA Commonwealth. It was to request for immediate rescue.

Pvwang, pvwang pvwang pvwang~… … … …pvwang! Pvwang- pvwang- pvwang- pvwang!

The drones were immediately driven away to protect them, zooming into the southeast and closer to the water, ready to submerge at any given moment. But right after, from the north, several dozen top-notch fighters flew at maximum speed towards them.

“Those aren’t military-only! Some are modified—” Fox yelled at the top of his lungs, heading back to the cabin, where he would give direct, immediate orders, yelling as he walked back there. “Unknown enemy military and secret world!”

The aerial fleet readied as much as they possibly could, with the main helicopters remaining together, but the rest spreading up to a few kilometers, but 1 kilometer at the very least from each other.

The Lymocan fighters were too far away, while the EPA Commonwealth would take a few minutes to decode and come to their rescue… Hopefully, this enemy ambush wasn’t employed with the Commonwealth’s aid.

“Listen to me,” Fox said to the pilot and co-pilot teams, and the engineers right outside the cabin. They looked at him with deadpan faces, scared silly. The engineers were all military, after all.

BOOOM! In but a moment, the enemy encountered Fox’s group. One of their modified warplanes sent a large missile before launching 15 smaller ones right after. The helicopters were aimed at, with the main choppers falling into immediate threat.

Fox ordered to continue in a direct line as a few helicopters fell to the enemy, but they were likewise taken down, 1 for 1, and sometimes 1 for 2 in Fox’s favor. Unfortunately, the enemy had too many advantages against helicopters, even if they were Lymocan models.

BOOOOOOOM! Despite the countless anti-missile devices, the helicopters were overcome with the number of projectiles exchanged in between, especially the enemy’s rockets and missiles. A large plethora were sent to Fox’s main helicopter, with small groups of people hugging, jumping off as a dozen missiles exploded before the helicopter at the same time.

Fox’s medium NUA wasn’t enough to plane at such speeds, but he lifted his left arm and aimed, immediately launching a hook with a sticky head as his helicopter was brutally destroyed, with some engineers and agents reached. Metal and glass shards struck in and sent blood into the air.

The engineers were hit at their backs and back of their heads, killing them instantly, while the agents survived thanks to their NUAs, deflecting them with ease. Fox’s hook was of a gruesome black color, extended from his skin like molting outwards that fused together. It was a gut bion added to his left arm’s improvement since before the Radical Wars.

Fox’s body flung from his fall to directly towards the main heavy combat helicopter, followed by the remaining main combat helicopter, which rushed forth to fly at the same speed. Afterwards, more and more missiles flew towards them, intercepted by some helicopters’ machine guns, sacrificing firepower against the enemy.

Fox entered the heavy chopper and saw Esmeralda pick herself up with her helmet off. She looked slightly hurt. The helicopter swayed, with enemy rockets reaching its immediate surroundings. Fox helped Esmeralda up without speaking a word, making her put her helmet on before Nala came out of the cabin.

Boom, boom, boom… Fox began commanding from the heavy helicopter, debating to call the drones back while employing a rapid movement. All helicopters moved left and right in crescent circles towards the enemy and back, sending missiles while aiming them to the sky or to the water, flying them underwater to take the enemy by surprise.

It still wasn’t enough. A few more helicopters fell, and the main heavy helicopter suffered some hits from the enemy rockets. Just as Fox decided to recall the drones into the fight, their immediate, urgent radio comms sounded.

“EPA Commonwealth! We’re seeing you. Providing support now. Can you fly lower!?” A voice urged them, and Fox wasted no time to order the aerial fleet down. Some had to fly higher up in diagonal trajectories.

BOOM BOOM BOOM- pvwang pvwang pvwang pvwang- BOOOOOOM- TRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRR!

Over 200 fighters flew from the east, right in front of them, towards them. They opened fire with rapid, small missiles, eliminating half the remaining enemy fighters, with the modified ones being massacred afterwards by even more missiles and countless lines of bullets filling the skies.

Some of the explosions reverberated on the helicopters, which suffered some turbulence before stabilizing right after.

“EPA’s defensive air force wing to… Fox? Are you alright!?” The voice sounded after a minute. Fox checked Esmeralda and Nala again before rushing into the cabin. He spoke to the voice, which was female, before changing the channel. “Yes, all enemy units have been destroyed. Give me a minute, first.”

“Fox? What happened!?” Luis’s grave voice sounded next. Fox didn’t waste time, again, and went directly to what he wanted. “ANS and their hoogs attacked us. Half our aerial fleet are down, and… they thought my helicopter was your daughter’s.”

“…” Luis fell silent, as cold and heavy as never before. From what he knew, Fox’s chopper was supposed to be in the middle of their formation…

“I want to request permission to recruit… agents for my new hoog secret organization. It’s not done yet, nor close to it. But as Raging Blood, we will achieve the District’s tasks, operations, and needs. I must have more liberty to-” Fox practically begged, hoping Luis wouldn’t back down, for both knew how insane Fox could act.

“Granted!” Luis outrageously barked, surprising and gladdening Fox’s visage, who looked back at Nala and Esmeralda reclining against the walls.

  …
