Chapter 23
(Cold Beauty)
Violet sighed the umpteen times as she dialed Oscar’s number, but he kept on bouncing her calls, and the next thing was to switch it off. She cursed inwardly, pacing to and fro around the living room. After waiting for about thirty minutes more, she heard the door opening, revealing Oscar wearing a tired look as he came in. She stood up akimbo, looking like a fierce viper ready to strike its victim, as she walked closer to him.
“Where the hell have you been, and why haven’t you been picking up my calls” She growled at him; he let out a frustrated sigh.
“Damn, babe. I’m sorry. I erm…”
“You what” She cut in, not giving him the chance to express himself
“I have been waiting for the past five hours, and all you have to say is that you are sorry” She questioned
“I didn’t know that you were here”
“But you saw my calls, and kept on bouncing it”
“I was with Megan; I wouldn’t want her to notice anything. She wouldwould be suspicious if I kept hanging up without replying to the phone call. So I had to just switch off my phone” Oscar explained..
“Huff…you were with Megan…she again?” She scoffed
“Violet….”
“Don’t f**king call my name. I thought we made an agreement that you were gonna cut off all ties with her. What’s going on..damn. I think you will have to choose between me and that b!tch” She yelled, about walking away when he grabbed her hand.
“Come on, you know that I will choose you. I love you so much Violet, but the thing is….huhmm” he sighed.
“What…she has gotten prettier than me…right..because she got her beauty back”
“No, it’s not about that. You know that I don’t like Megan one bit; I’m just with her because of her money”
“Money? Huhn..you are rich Oscar..what happened”
“I got bankrupt recently; I need some cash to brace up back to my level. And Megan is my only hope for now. But trust me, when I get what I want, I won’t hesitate to leave her broken” he stated, placing k**ses on her cheeks, as he trailed it down her neck.
“Are you using this to bribe me” She smirked, as he placed his lips on her
“Just know that you are the best. Not even Megan can take your place, trust me” he whispered into her ears, as she let out a blush, wrapping her hands around his neck.

A street in London~~
Emerald’s POV
“Boy, don’t call me angel..you don’t know me well….don’t call me angel…” I sang happily to one of Arianna Grande’s songs as I joggrf down the quiet street. Jogging has been my daily routine, right from when I was young. It helps me keep fit and the music helps my brain to feel relaxed.
My name is Emerald Scott, and I’m one hell of a weirdo, well, being the only girl in the midst of three guys made me this way.
I hate it when guys see me as an inferior, that’s why I train a lot. Beating up guys is also my thing, and I don’t like them; except my brothers, or let’s say, I haven’t found my speck yet. But damn, guys are fond of breaking the heart of fragile ladies, and that’s what I’m avoiding, I don’t wanna end up like Rose, because I might be tough on the outside, but really weak inwardly.
“Don’t call me angel when I am….ouch,” I groaned, as I kicked my foot on a large stone. I released my body into the air, expecting it to reach the ground when I landed on something soft. Gosh, I was so engrossed in the music that I didn’t watch my way, but what the hell am I resting on, I thought and flipped my eyes open in shock.
Right before me is an angel staring down at me. His eyes were brightly blue, just like that of the sky on a clear sunny day. His blonde golden hair fell across his face..and his lips…oh gosh, Emerald, wake up, you shouldn’t be crushing on any freaky guy, they are all bad; a voice reminded me, as I pushed him off, arranging my shirt properly, and gave him a quick glare, but he returned it with a smile. I rolled my eyes.
“Hi….” He muttered, and I could swear that his voice sounded more angelica, damn, why would I meet with an angel on a broad day
“What….” I asked rather roughly
He shrugged, rubbing the nape of his neck
“I...just saved you..and erm…don’t you think a thank you will do, instead of acting rude” He stated, but his expression wasn’t that of an angry person. He was clearly smiling.
Jeez, I can’t believe that I lost my manners.
“Erm..thanks..but stay away from me” I noted and resumed my jogging, but he didn’t heed to my word, he jogged along
“I’m Dave” He stated while I paid no attention to him
“So, can I know the name of this beautiful damsel” He stated
“Don’t you understand a simple warning; stay away from me” I muttered, trying as much as possible not to yell
“But I ain’t disturbing you, I’m also jogging as you can see” he stated
I rolled my eyes. He chuckled
“Fine…I will just leave you to jog alone, do you want that”
No response
We kept on jogging that way till I got to my house. He waved me goodbye, but like I had been doing earlier, I ignored him. I won’t fall for their trap this time.
VAMPIC FALL~~
The echoing laughter of the priestess sounded loud across the whole shrine cave as the earth shook to its vibration.
Standing before her is Lazarus, who stood fearlessly, holding out the bolt as a sign that he won the mission. The seven elders stood at the far end, watching the scenario as the other six vampires who were sent appeared in the cave one after the other, including Deleon. He appeared in his own glory, casting a disgustful glare at Lazarus who returned it with a smirk.
“The mission is complete, the bolt has been retrieved. So…let the ritual begin, as the winner of this contest will be crowned the seventh disciple.” The priestess muttered, collecting the bolt, and striking it into the air, as a flash of lighting erupts, making cracks in the cave. The other vampires vanished, leaving only Lazarus, who was qualified.
Unknown World~~
“Where the hell are you!!” She yelled, walking towards the little table where a candle is being place, just as she always does, whenever she come visiting.
“I’m right here…” A voice sounded behind her as she heaved a sigh of relief
“I brought a message from the palace….” She smiled, walking closer to him with a seductive smile
“Good news right?”
“Sure….you will be out of here very soon”
“Really…”
“The men sent out have returned; the bolt has been retrieved. The ritual has started, as Lord Zarus is been made the seventh disciple” She stated, walking round the table, as she slightly flickered the candle fire with her finger.
“Hmm. Zarus…” He muttered to himself, rubbing his beard
“The coronation will start soon, Prince Hunter will be crowned King of Vampic fall” She smiled.
“That is good news…finally…” he smirked, pulling her closer, as he placed her lips on hers.
