Chapter 25
(Martha)
Megan’s POV
Standing backstage, I stared at the little mark that suddenly appeared on my wrist. It looked like a tiny feather, but how it got there still baffles me. I can’t remember having any other mark, aside the birth mark on my neck. I tried cleaning it off but it wouldn’t bulge. It looked pretty though, but I hope it isn’t something related to the weird guys I encountered a week ago.
Talking about them, I haven’t set my eyes on them ever since the last time we parted. I tried tracking the location where they stayed but met new occupants, who claimed that they hadn’t set their eyes on such people, despite my description.
Did they just vanish into the thin air, I thought, as Gracie’s voice jolted me out of my thoughts.
“Megan, the fans are waiting” She stated, as it became down on me that my name has already been called, but I was here getting drown in my thoughts that I failed to notice.
I’m actually about to perform in a random show, organized by some top citizen of London, and my fans are dying hard to see me. It’s been a while since I took a live concert here in London, and that weird guy would have ruined it if he hadn’t taken that beast off my face.
Gosh I wish I never encounter them ever again, they bring bad luck to me. But the fact that I can’t get the picture of the other one out of my mind is perplexing. What’s his name again…hmm, I think it’s Lazarus.

“You did great back there” Gracie commended as we stepped into my limousine. I just finished performing and the fans were going crazy, as some had attempted touching me.
“Sure…thanks” I mumbled.
On getting home, I met Martha in the living room, she stood up spreading her arms wide to hug me, but damn, I ain’t taking that.
“You ain’t gonna hug me...fine” She stated, but I completely ignored her
“Megan, what’s wrong; are you just ignoring me, or I’m no longer welcome here?” She muttered following me up the stairs into my room.
“I will just take a shower now, any more things on my schedule list” I asked Gracie, as she shook her head.
“Not for this week…” She muttered
“Fine, you can also take a break, see you later” I simply stated, as she left, leaving me with a slightly pissed Martha.
“I know that we ain’t really close, but I’m still your childhood friend right?” She asked
“Huhn…can you just let me breathe, I’m just coming back from a concert” I snapped taking off my cloth

“Fine, I just wanted to say hi…”
“Seriously, you just wanted to say hi..like you care”
“What do you mean...like I care...come on babe, did I do anything wrong”
“Yeah...too bad I won’t be saying it, you act like you are my friend but weren’t there for me when I was sick”
“Sick? You were sick Megan...I didn’t know about that, I only heard about you missing which was weird by the way. And as of then, I was not in London, I couldn’t come here to see for myself, but truth be told, I still care about you Meg, and even if you don’t like me the way you love Violet, I still won’t hold any grudge against you.” She explained
I sighed shortly
“Well, I’m still pissed, yea...I was sick…but…just forget about it...I need to shower” I muttered and entered the bathroom. I heard her heave a sigh
Getting out I met her still on the bed, going through my phone, she couldn’t hide any longer because I already caught her.
“What the hell are you doing with my phone” I questioned
“You don’t mind if I check it out, do you... it's new and lovely” She giggled, I rolled my eyes
“That doesn’t mean that you should start checking its content”
“Sorry about that..”
She dropped the phone as she watched me dress.
“Have you heard from Violet, lately...” She asked
“She is out of town” I muttered but heard her scoff
“Ok… and your boyfriend?”
“Huhn…Martha, when do you suddenly become interested in my boyfriend, because the last time I checked you don’t like him, so why asking about him” I questioned, picking up my hair brush from the dressing table, as I faced the mirror.
I could see her shrug.
“I don’t know…but how will you feel if you find out that he is cheating on you”
“Are you here to speak against the people I love or for something else” I snapped already pissed at her question.
“Hey, chill sis, don’t take it the wrong way. I’m just asking”
“And for your information, Oscar can never do that to me”
“Oh…yea I know, just assuming though” She chuckled, and it sounded weird. Martha doesn’t chuckle this way, but I only brushed it off.

“Brother…Lazarus…” Celeste called as she entered his room. He heard her but was too worried to answer. She smiled on seeing him, he was shirtless and the mark on his back was so visible.
“You are here and you didn’t bother to answer me” She pouted, hugging him from behind..
He chuckled, as she trailed her fingers on his back.
“What’s this mark” She asked
“I don’t know…” he simply muttered
“Does it have to do with the discipleship stuff?”
He shook his head
“No…it has been there for a while, always appearing and disappearing”
She nodded
“Have you informed the priestess about it…she might have a clue?”
“She doesn’t need to know about it, it’s just a harmless mark” he stated, as she shifted a bit, giving him the chance to wear his clothes.
“I won’t be seeing you often anymore, your life is now dedicated to the king” She pouted sadly.
“It’s what the law requires, and whereas, the late king has been good to me, this is the only way I can repay his kindness.” He stated, looking down at her. He heaves a sigh knowing what she meant.
“But you have Arthur to keep you company, and I’m not leaving totally. Just a few missions; and I will be back”
“That’s not why I’m sad; I’m just worried about you. Serving Hunter will be really tough, he isn’t a good guy”
“I know about that, but he won’t hurt me; I’m worried about you”
“Why”
“Stay away from the palace, if possible, stay away from the king. He had a look of lust while staring at you the other day. I don’t want to get into a fight with the royals, because I won’t mind shedding more blood if it has to do with you” He stated as she nodded.
“I will miss you”
He smirked, picking up his mask as he put it on
“When will you stop covering your face with this mask, ain’t you tired of it”
He chuckled
“Oh, you once told me you would take it off when you find your mate”
“What if I have found her…”
“Really, where is she, you didn’t tell me about her” She asked, already interested in the talk.
“No, you can’t meet her yet; it’s just…hmm, complicated. See you later sweetie, take care” He pecked her cheek, walking out of the room.
She wanted to find out more about his newly found mate, but why wasn’t he telling her anything, she thought.
