“Fight!” the blood cried once more in its single voice before wilting away, disappearing back into Elijah’s bloodstream, its presence collapsed to the point of undetectability. That was a problem to worry about later. The teen needed to focus on what was in front of him, and thanks to the blood spurring him on, he was able to.
His consciousness snapped back into place. He was being dragged along, caught in a harsh current that his body desperately wanted to dissolve into. He ignored the feeling and instead began reeling himself in.
His tentacle arms had only remained attached thanks to the suckers that continued to grip onto what remained of the Hammerhead’s shaft.
The monster looked back and realised that, despite its speed, the human was gaining. Not realising that the pair were tied together, it started to make sharp turns, eager to shake its pursuer and disappear back into the murk for another ambush.
Elijah was unperturbed. Joint by joint he curled up his octopus-like appendage. His eyes burned with hatred. His translucent skin wavered, but his resolve did not. One thing drove the young man. It was kill or be killed.
The Hammerhead grew more desperate as it began to spin, barrel rolling frantically. Elijah was so close, but his grip was slipping. He tried to latch on with his other hand, but it had been dissolved by the last attack. His tentacle arm slipped. His jaw bit down.
The teen's teeth creaked in protest as they became the only thing holding him in place. It was only for a second however; Elijah used the opportunity to wrap up what remained of the monster’s shaft with his tentacle.
With a secure purchase, he latched himself onto the beast, shuffling along until his legs were wrapped about the wood and his head was above the metal head of the monster. It grew even more desperate.
Elijah’s vision was stolen from him as the Hammerhead charged up its bloody aura to heretofore unseen levels. Red, bloody bubbles that appeared as the screaming faces of the drowned tore off the beast and surrounded the teen.
He could feel them trying to tear the blood from his body, but with the amount of water mana he was channelling, they couldn’t find anything to take – he was more sea than boy.

Channelling all the power he had left, Elijah raised his head as high as he could, calling on all the water around them, then smashed it down onto the metal head of the beast.
For a second, nothing happened. Then, the ocean rushed down, focused through Elijah’s skull, and smashed into the Hammerhead’s hammer-like head. The world moved as the pair were sent hurtling down by the sudden explosions of pressure.
The beast cried out in pain, but Elijah didn’t stop. He continued to channel the current through him as the metal began to wear away. He continued as the world started to turn black. He continued as the pressure rose to unprecedented levels, sending them deeper and deeper.
BOOM!
They smashed into the sea floor. Every bone in the young man’s body broke at once, and darkness claimed him. Unseen by him, a crack formed on the metal head of the monster, and the flood of water that followed them smashed down on the pair.
The water hammer obliterated them both, leaving nothing but shrapnel and bone fragments behind.
