The past month went by fast for Anya, she had joined Samuel as a guest on his lectures at various study institutes. The constant traveling between cities and towns were truly an eye opener for Anya, she was fascinated by all of the sight she had seen, too bad they had been on a tight schedule hopping towns a moment after another, she promised herself to visit these places again when she had the time, she especially wanted to tour the Burned tower in Ecruteak and the Museum in Pewter.
She had seen the imposing tower the moment they arrived, the monument stood tall at the edge of Ecruteak and one could see that the place had history with just a passing glance, she was a bit sad that she couldn't get a closer look, they had stayed only for a couple hours for the lecture before promptly leaving for the next place, Samuel had somehow booked two or even three lectures per day. Even he had to admit he was going a bit overboard and might have taken more than he could chew comfortably.
Faesol was the smart one, she had chosen to skip the lectures and was left with Delia who has recently started working as an assistant to the professor, Delia was given free reign on how to handle things with the lab and Faesol. She just had to keep everything in order and keep an eye on Faesol.
There was an ongoing alert from the local police department that there has been sightings of a group of shady people skulking around Pallet, the local officers recommend locking up your doors and inform them of any missing items as soon as possible. They also encouraged the people to keep an eye out for suspicious people and Pokémon.
"Finally back" Samuel said as he tiredly crashed on to the sofa, his posture relaxed as he practically melted on the spot. Anya gave him a worried look, she didn't have any idea how taxing the constant city jumping was on Samuel as he didn't show it outwards, only inside the walls of his home would he allow himself to truly relax. She herself was also mentally spent, even if her own contribution to the lectures were minimal, still she went to the kitchen and soon came back with a glass of water, carefully carrying the glass between her cutters and gave it to Samuel.
"Thanks" he said gratefully. "Your skills in using those cutters have increased a lot, I still remember that you used to struggle with carrying anything smooth just a month ago, all those broken glasses" he chuckled.
"[That's true]" Anya gave an affirmative nod, "[These low friction surfaces are still a bit of a pain to hold on, but its nowhere near as bad as it was before, but who could have thought that learning to manipulate the defensive matrix could help me attach things to myself with just a thought and intent]" she chuckled as her cutter. "[Even if the limit is one to two objects at a time]" Anya had used the free time she had during the past month to experiment with the matrix manipulation as she liked to call it, she had a theory that this type of manipulation was the basis of held items in the games and was the reason how the held items didn't just fall of the Pokémon during heated combat, where the Pokémon are send flying or just moving at an extreme speed.
Funnily the way to keep things held on her was all about belief, the more she believed she could held onto the glass the more affirmed the object became into her matrix, she had also found that there were multiple types of matrix woven into Pokémon, the most prominent were the defensive matrix, offensive matrix and the passive matrix. All of them were capable of bending physics, how a massive Dragonite could fly with small wingspan was a good example of passive matrix in action. Offensive matrix on the other hand was capable of producing something out of type energy, like the huge mass of water appearing out of nowhere when using moves like whirlpool or surf and lastly the defensive matrix showing its unnaturalness by not outright pulverizing the Pokémon being hit in the face by a steel beam flying at mach speed.
A sound came from downstairs, soon a blur of purple shot through the building ending its momentum on top of Anya or more namely on her face.
"[I missed you!]" meowled the mess of purple hanging on Anya's face, Anya tried to answer but her voice was mostly muffled by Faesol's body. Prying the feline off her face carefully and hanging Faesol on her outstretched cutters. "[I'm back, I missed you too]" she said. Delia soon came upstairs too, carrying Ash with her arms.
"No wonder she just dashed the moment I opened the front door" Delia said with a laugh as she saw Anya hanging the Espeon like a wet shirt, the baby on her arms giggling along with her.
"You are back earlier than expected" she said as a matter of fact. "We were spending the time on the Pokémon arena, watching some people battling each other, they both show a lot of interest in battling. I'm worried that he will be too much into battling when he grows up" she said as she boop'd Ash's nose playfully. Anya also gave a small laugh like chitter, this caught Samuel's attention, something in the laugh itself bothered him, the tone itself gave him an odd feeling of foreboding now that he could understand the nuances a bit better, a month of communication without a typewriter did wonders on his understanding of her mannerism and speech.

"[So, how have you been, has Delia been treating you well?]" Anya asked the Espeon who was lounging on top of her. "[Yes! It has been great, we were mostly playing outside or at her home]" Faesol answered her, she rolled over to her side so that she could make eye contact with Anya, "[Did you know, that there wasn't a TV in there, only this weird sound box]" she said astounded.
Anya thought for a moment before giving Faesol her own reasoning, "[Well, I think televisions are still quite expensive and aren't affordable to many common households here in the countryside, even the channels available are basic. There is what- like three and half channels to watch, some of them doesn't even have enough content for the whole day and one of them only shows some news in text format with the two major languages in Indigo.]" She carefully scratched Faesol's chin with her cutter. "[That sound box as you called it, its called a radio by the humans and it is sort of a predecessor to the television]".
"[You might remember the one guy talking about what was happening during one of the battles we saw on the TV]" She explained "[Those are called casters, they talk and tell about what is happening on the show so that people with radios could also know what was happening at the scene]" Anya hoped Faesol would understand her example and as she didn't really know how to explain it any better she let it go.
"[Oh, I see]" Faesol answered deep in though.
"[Have you thought about staying with Samuel when I move to Viridian?]"
"[I'll come with you]" she answered resolutely
"[You sure? It is most likely going to be boring there, small place and staying alone for long stretches of time while I am at work]"
Faesol hook her head as much as she could "[Doesn't matter, I'll try my best]" she paused for a moment "[To be honest, I think Samuel doesn't really have the time for me either, you might have missed it but Samuel too is a very busy person]"
"[Yeah, We will just have to make it work right?]" deep inside Anya knew she really didn't want to leave Faesol behind, she was afraid that dealing with Giovanni and possibly team Rocket could put them both in danger, it was one thing when it was just about herself, she didn't like the idea of endangering her friends or dragging them into her problems.
It didn't take long before Anya was teetering back and forth, trying to stay awake as her body relaxed, it was getting late and Anya had had a rough month behind her. "[Feef, I'm getting tired, could you please get up so that I can get to my bed]" Anya said tiredly, the Espeon stirred on top of her, got up and moved quickly to the bedroom. As soon as Faesol left a sudden coldness invaded Anya, like a warm blanket was suddenly pulled from her, the sudden change in temperature gave her some energy to get up from the sofa and quickly head to her bed.
What she didn't expect was that Faesol had done some redecorating while she had been away, large amount of her commissions were littered on top of the bed and buried underneath it all was Faesol, her signature two pronged tail popping out from beneath the plushies, playfully swaying back and forth. Anya was too tired to comment, promptly fell on top of the bed and pulling the blanket on top of her, not even a minute later she was already asleep.
Meanwhile Samuel and Delia were having a conversation about the passed month over some tea downstairs.
"So, how has Faesol behaved?" Asked Samuel casually while blowing on his hot cup of tea.
"She has been sweet, we had some fun times together"
"What about your more professional observations"
"Curious to a fault, the only thing regulating her behavior is her laziness and most likely Anya. She has not shown any signs of being a wild Pokémon at all, one could easily believe she is a ranch bred household pet. She is an odd example of a wild Pokémon as is Anya"
"Good, good, just as expected, I too had come to a similar conclusion. From what I know, there are two potential catalysts that could pacify wild Pokémon one of them being Anya herself having an innate talent for this, but I highly doubt that this is not the correct answer as I have talked with Anya before and I think she is as clueless as we are if not even more." Samuel took a quiet moment to let what he was going to say have more.
"The other possible catalyst being a much more problematic, the involvement of a strong Pokémon" he said in a hushed tone, letting his statement float around the for a while to let it really sink in.
"A Legendary!?" Delia shouted out in surprise as she took the hint "You are suggesting that a legendary Pokémon is behind this?"
"Not so loud, I have a suspicion that it is a strong Psychic type that is or has messed with their minds"
They both sat around the table, the cups of tea getting cold as their minds mulled over his statement. The one Pokémon that has been on Samuel's mind the most was Celebi, but he couldn't really believe Celebi doing such a thing, his past experience with the Pokémon in question painted the Celebi as a kind and friendly Pokémon, it has been years since he had last seen the Pokémon and he was still adamant about Celebi being a good Pokémon.
Another problem was that there wasn't any proof that Celebi hasn't messed with his mind either now that he thought about it, the chance wasn't zero, it might be the reason he had mostly forgotten the whole adventure with Celebi when he was ten and only recently has the memory come back to him when Anya had given him the not so subtle reminder.
