Chapter 115 Sisters Reunited & Officers Spotted

The next few moments went by in a blur as Gale cleared the steps needed to the door. There wasn't a lock. There wasn't a keypad, or any other type of sensor needed to open that door it was just a handle. Once she reached it and grabbed onto it not only did time stop in the room around them, but it stopped for Gale as well. It had been what seemed like an unimaginable amount of time since the two of them had even seen each other. She was about to open the door and see her sister again for the first time. Her body buckled as Valentina was almost pushed back from the response. She gripped Gale's shoulder a bit tighter. Any break between them and everyone in that room would see them and it would be over at least the easy path would be.

Gale started to hyperventilate a bit until she felt Valentina move closer and almost in slow motion for some reason whisper in her ear. "Go inside."

That was it. That was all Valentina said as Gale finally pushed the handle down all the way pushed the door open and with a little nudge from Valentina was inside as Valentina's hand went down sharp grabbed the handle and slammed it closed. Making sure that no one else was getting through that door unless they went through her.

Gale stumbled a bit and then once she was able to regain her footing her eyes widened. The air inside was dry. She couldn't feel any moisture inside. It was as if someone had taken the vapor out and all that remained was dry air. Thankfully it didn't affect her breathing because she could manipulate that sort of thing as she looked over and saw what looked to be a cube. There were lights flickering around it in all different colors. She had never seen anything like it as she started to slowly walk around it. There was nothing else inside the room but that cube.

She took in a deep breath and started to study it trying to find anything that looked different but between the flashing lights and the blinding white that encircled them on the walls, ceiling, and floor she couldn't concentrate. She understood why after putting everything around them together in her mind. This was sensory deprivation at its highest. She thought that her apparatus was debilitating this must've been torture and she needed to deactivate it as soon as possible so she could get Mist out.

She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath trying to regulate her anxiety even though Valentina had knocked her back to her senses just a bit she was still having trouble balancing herself. She held that breath for a few moments and then as she exhaled, she slowly opened her eyes. She had become calmer and now she was able to see through the cube. In the center was her sister. She couldn't see Mists exact position inside the cube, but she saw her body and then she saw a piece of the cube that was out of place. It was pitch black and not flashing lights ran through it. She walked over to it and started to examine it looking for anything that might be out of place. As she got closer, she saw it there was a small hole in the center and as she peered inside there was a little white button.

Gale took in a short breath stuck her index finger inside and pressed the button. The flashing lights stopped and the cube which she had not noticed before because of the lights was actually spinning on the inside started to slow and she could hear the motion of it. The inside spun a total of four times before stopping. There was a hiss, and the cube opened up vertically as it split apart inside was a ball. Her sister had been stretched arms and legs like an x, and she had been spinning inside that cube which was inside what looked to be a ball.

Anger started to flow through her. She could not believe what they had done and that's when she saw another apparatus inside connected to her sister. There were tubes in her nose and mouth and then she saw the machine inside the ball vitals and other things that she didn't recognize. It looked as though they were stimulating Mist to use her ability which meant the moment Gale took all this out and destroyed that thing the mist barrier around the island would probably disappear. She took in another deep breath and looked around for something anything that could turn all these stupid machines off. She just didn't want to rip cords and tubes out of Mist there was no reason to shock her back into reality.

She started to shake a bit. A combination of anger, anxiety, and sadness overwhelmed her senses, and she was starting to second guess coming in here alone. However, something happened that she was not expecting. When the ball had stopped it had brought Mist upright and as she was scrambling around trying to find the off-switch Mist's eyes popped open, and she looked over at Gale. Gale could feel her sister's eyes on her as she turned her head and they locked eyes. Mist's measurements started to elevate, and Gale started to get afraid there was no reason for her sister to freak out because she didn't know what it would do while she was still hooked up to the machines because they were still engaging her to use her ability on the outside of the facility. Any deviation from what she had been doing up until this point could make things go from bad to worse outside.

Gale shook her head and then finally saw another button. It was black and right above it the words shut off were in plain view. She didn't even hesitate to press the button with such force it appeared she was almost slamming it as the machines cut off and tubes jettisoned from Mist's nose and mouth. She had been suspended inside the ball by what looked to be chain cuffs those opened. Gale jumped back a bit and put her arms out to catch her sister. Mist stumbled forward as Gale wrapped her arms around her even though Mist was covered in an unknown substance Gale grabbed her and pulled her close as they both stumbled backwards with Gale planting her right foot and stopping them from falling.

An alarm came down from the center of the ceiling spinning above them making three high pitched alert sounds. Gale's hair on top of her head lifted up as her eyes narrowed and she looked up at the alarm. Her left arm cradled her sister as her right thrusted upwards at the device. Whatever air dry or not that was inside that room was forced up at the alarm scattering it and propelling it back up into the ceiling. The room went silent. The lights dimmed a bit and the white that had assaulted Gale's senses became less intense.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

Gale was trying to keep her composure. She did lash out a bit at the alarm that was mostly because she didn't want to listen to that in such a small space but also, she finally had her sister back. They stood there for a few moments seconds started to tick by and then finally Mist gained a little strength as she planted both of her feet on wobbly knees she tried to stand up and she buckled a bit. Gale helped her up as she noticed when the cube had opened there was a step on either side of it. She moved them to it and sat Mist down on one of the blocks. Mist leaned backwards breathing in four times even though the air was dry it was better than what she had been fed for God knows how long.

Her head went forward a bit as she put her hand up and ran it through her messy hair. "Argh." She looked up and saw Gale in front of her. She squinted for a bit as Gale reached into her clothes and pulled out some bread and out of the other pocket a canteen of water. She extended both of them to Mist who looked down at the offerings. First at the bread and then at the water. She ignored the bread and grabbed the canteen opening it up tilting her head back and just gulping down as much as she could. It took Gale two hands to rip the canteen out of her sister's mouth so that she didn't finish it all as Gale took a small drink for herself Mist shallowed taking in a deep breath and as she exhaled her head came up a bit as her eyes opened and a small smile crossed her face as she very weakly spoke.

"Gale it's good to see you sister."

Gale's eyes welled up with tears. She was beyond ecstatic and then her eyes narrowed. The frustration and the anger that had lit her face up when she took out that alarm from before exploded all over her face. However, she was able to keep her tone mellow and calm. "That's right Mist I'm here." Her voice cracked a bit. She couldn't believe that they were speaking to each other. She took a short breath and gave her sister a soft smile. "We've come to get you out."

Mist tilted her head to the side raising an eyebrow as she spoke. "We?"

"That's right Mist Aurora Eclipse Glade they're all outside. We took a new job most of the facility guards and researchers are dead and right now our new friends are about to fight the guardian officers." Gale did her best to talk with tears still streaming down her face.

Mist's eyes widened. The guardian officers were the ones who helped build each containment area for her, her sister, and Glade. These men were vicious, and they had specialized tools to combat the three of them. She started to shake a bit. "No, no, we cannot fight them."

Gale could understand Mist's apprehension and her fear. She had been locked up so long she had forgotten how powerful she was. Of course, the officer who was in charge of keeping Mist in check was the fiercest of the three although no one had seen the officers face or for that matter their body. They still questioned if that officer was a man or not. The other two they were clearly male. The one that oversaw Glade rarely wore a shirt and carried a hammer that also had a crescent axe side to it along with a spike at the top that could be removed if he so chose. That weapon was purely comprised of man-made materials. Things that Glade could not manipulate even if she tried and finally the one who watched over Gale, he had armor that was unlike anything she had ever seen. It could transform. It was not an easy transformation but when it did it was crazy. The first form was heavy to where Gale could not even lift him up with her strongest air currents and the shield that he employed covered him just about from head to toe. She could not get passed it and then when she finally was able to come up with a wind speed that was fast and strong enough to lift him, he came out with another side to that armor and shield combo. Inside after the armor had shed all the weight was a lighter more durable set that had a small wind powered engine inside. When her wind currents would try and pick him up, he would be able to use them to move quickly. The shield would disassemble into two different bucklers that covered both of his arms making him a formidable fighter.

These men did not mess around, and they were a bit unhinged along with crazy. Gale was worried that even with new friends they'd be no match. As far as the one that guarded Mist, they had a chain weapon that was similar to the electrified stun baton. It had different settings to it. Electrocution to kill to stun even to combust and then the chain also had handles, scythe, knives, heavy solid pieces of metal, small mace attachments. It was a ridiculous weapon and now Mist was starting to shake even more.

Gale put both of her hands on Mist's shoulders and touched her forehead to her sisters. Her eyes closed forehead to forehead she spoke. "Sister it's alright these new friends of ours killed every single one of the elites. The officers may be stronger, but these women are intense and even with all their tricks and their gadgets and their strength I believe the woman of Crimson Judgement's core crew will decimate these officers and you and I will leave this room and this place behind. We'll be able to finally breath the free air once again."

Mist smiled even though it was a half-smile as she wrapped her arms around her sister keeping their foreheads together. Tears started to fall down her cheeks. She had been in that cube/ball spinning for a very long time continuing to protect the island being kept alive for the sole purpose of being experimented on to try and find something different. A better weapon. A better ability that could be used in armor or some type of attachment, but now she was free and if what Gale said was true and they could actually breath the free air again she was going to unleash a storm that was going to shallow those arrogant bastards into the dark depths of the water that they had trapped them in.

After the door had slammed shut all bets were off now as Valentina looked around getting each position for the three officers as Alexandria, Veronica, and Eve entered the room. Valentina took a stance at the door enough though she wasn't supposed to be in this fight she was going to make sure that even if one of the officers beat Alexandria, Veronica, or Eve Valentina would be right there to stop them from interrupting a family reunion.
