Coming out of my cultivation on the fifth day, I noticed that my cores were at their peak again.

  This already happened two nights ago and allowed me to reach the eighth stage of Qi gathering. I even took advantage of the Qi gathering on the outside of my body to continue tempering my body and managed to reach the next level of my body cultivation stage.

  I also needed to reach the peak of Qi gathering for one of my two remaining quests, so I started my breakthrough immediately. At the same time, I started practicing my body cultivation technique to see how far I could go.

  Soon, the energy in my cores was expended to expand them to their final size, causing a vacuum of Qi within my body. This created a small vortex of Qi around me as it tried to fill in the vacuum. Sadly for it, all the Qi flowing through my meridians was absorbed by my body to create more Chi and temper my body even faster.

  As this process went on, I needed to increase my speed of practicing my body cultivation as the vortex kept growing and causing more Qi to rush in.

  Soon, I reached a point where I needed to change my movements as I reached the end of my current stage. This created a small gap where some Qi could reach my cores, causing them to start filling again. Thankfully, I was able to move on to the next stance so I could continue cultivating the final stage of the first realm.

  Sadly, I was not able to stop that small thread of Qi from reaching my core, so I was going to have to end this at some point. However, that would not have to happen for a while, so I was able to continue with my practice.

  An hour ter, the vortex had grown to encompass half the mountain before my cores were filled, and I reached the second-to-st level of my body cultivation stage. At that point, the vortex dissipated, and I was now free to do what I wanted.

  I then heard something next to me and turned around to see Mom standing there looking at me in shock. I only smiled before opening my status window and looking at my race to see if I could evolve.

  That was what happened st time I reached the peak of a cultivation stage after all.

  The system confirmed my suspicions by showing the lovely words of ‘Evolution Avaible.’

  Commanding my system to open the evolution window, I looked at the remaining evolutions I could choose from. Most of them sounded amazing, but for the sake of completion, I wanted to finish the common five elements first. This narrowed my options down to three. From there, I chose the one that offered healing potential, which meant I would be taking the wood element evolution.

  The moment I thought of choosing this one, the window closed, and the evolution started.

  The phenomenon that accompanied this evolution was a storm of flower petals coming in from all over the garden and surrounding me like something straight out of a fantasy book. What was not out of a fantasy book was the sharp pain coming from the base of my tails.

  This pain was overwhelming, and I tried to endure it, but from the arms wrapping around me, I guess that did not go as pnned. It did eventually end, though, after what felt like an hour but was almost certainly much shorter.

  However, this distraction was short-lived, as I felt the distinct sensation of a third tail on my back. Escaping from the arms of the person holding me, I controlled my tails to come around in front of me, where I saw that they were about three inches longer.I also saw that my new tail had the same red base as the others, but each of the hairs faded to a soft pink for some reason.

  I was then brought back to reality by something fluffy patting my head. Turning my head to the side to see who was patting me, I caught a glimpse of a silver tail darting out of my vision.

  Quickly turning my head to the other side with humph, I saw Mom standing there with three tails of the same color instead of two. That completely took all of my attention for a few moments before Mom patted my head again with both her hand and one of her tails. After that I hugged her before stuffing a brush into her hands.

  This got a ugh out of her before she said, “Don’t you know what today is?”

  That confused me for a moment before I remembered and said, “The day I will finally be able to upgrade the compound and finish one of my quests!”

  My words were followed by another ugh, and Mom then said, “Then we should head to the outer sect area.”

  Nodding along with her words, I was about to follow her but I checked my status first.
