Chapter 141: The Will of the Goddess!

Chapter 141: The Will of the Goddess!

  “Swish!!”

As a peak legendary warrior, Brand swung his sword with a brilliahat resembled the bzing sun, its scorg radianveloping the entire sky in an instant. In that moment, he seemed te with the world itself. Everywhere one looked, all things were bathed in this holy light.

  This was the Domain!

Feeling the power of Brand’s strike, Alex’s expression turned serious. He finally uood what Stone had meant when describing the might of a legendary figure. Truthfully, Brand’s attack was her fshy nor particurly extravagant in its visual effects.

Yet, the moment Brand unleashed his sword, Alex couldn’t help but feel as though he were a ned prisoner being marched to the execution grounds. The executioner awaited the judge’s decree, and ohe order was given, the axe would fall, severing his life in a siroke.

Yes, when a legendary powerhouse made their move, it felt as if the enemy was being dragged into a world that belonged solely to the wielder.

Brand’s world seemed to revolve around judgment, which was why it evoked such a sense of dread.

  No… it wasn’t just a feeling.

  “k, k, k!”

As Brand’s sword desded, golden s appeared out of thin air, om, surging toward Alex and Malthael behind him. These s were the maion of Brand’s domain!

For an ordinary padin, such power would be impossible to resist. But…

  No one stop Death!

  “k, k, k!”

The golden s failed to bind Alex and Malthael. Instead, they passed through their bodies as though they were nothing more than phantoms, illusory figures with no real presen the material world.

  “Hmph!”

Watg the s phase through him, Malthael let out a cold snort. His body shuddered, and in the instant, thin, eerie mist seeped out from beh his pitch-bck armor, rapidly spreading in all dires. The golden s, once seemingly invincible, began to shatter uhe corrosive influence of the mist.

Even the pristine, light-bathed world began to darken, enveloped in a shadowy pall. What once resembled a grand court of judgment noeared as a deg, death-ridden graveyard.

  “Pfft!”

Overwhelmed by the ining power of death, Brand turned pale and was bsted backward, coughing up blood. He colpsed to the ground, utterly defeated.

  “Father!!”

ie’s eyes widened in disbelief at the sight. She couldn’t prehend how her father, a legendary warrior, couldn’t withstand even a siad was left gravely injured in an instant.

What ie didn’t know was that Alex’s Soul Stones had been signifitly enhanced, and his characters’ powers had grown accly.

Malthael, now wielding the bined powers of the Angel of Wisdom and the Angel of Death, had awakened an absurdly overpowered ability: The Rift Between Life ah.

Unless Brand possessed death’s power, akin to the Nephalem in Diablo, he could not hope to harm Malthael in the slightest.

Moreover, Malthael’s deathly energy was highly suppressive against all life. As a mortal, Brand, who hadn’t even reached demigod status, stood no ce against one of the Five Great Angels.

“I’ll fight you to the death!”

Seeing her father lying on the ground, coughing up blood, ie gred at Alex with uing hatred. Her emotions were a storm of fusion.

Why had things turned out like this?

She had believed that by helping the little angel break free from bohe vile Alex would face divine punishment.

  But noas this happening?

How could he possibly have the prote of an angel?

Had she been wrong all along?

  “Ahhhhhhh!!!”

ie felt like she was losing her mind. Abandoning all reason, she raised her on and charged at Alex, her thoughts ed by rage.

Angels, padins, righteousness, evil—none of it mattered anymore.

All she wanted was to fight. To fight, fight, fight!

She wouldn’t think anymore—she would simply strike!

  “Hmph.”

Watg ie rush toward him in a frenzy, Alex’s expression darkened. With a cold snort, he raised his right hand and made a sweepiure.

As if in response, Malthael straightened behind him, the translut, mist-like wings on his back fring forward in a powerful sweep.

  “Whooosh—!”

A deathly storm erupted with Malthael’s motion, surging forward with devastating force.

In the face of this overwhelming tempest, ie’s lightning attacks failed to stir even a ripple. Like faint dlelight in a hurrie, they were extinguished without a sound.

Malthael theended his hand with a sudden motion. His Scythe of Souls materialized and struck forward in a blur, pierg ie’s shoulder in the blink of an eye.

  “Ahhhhhhh!!”

The excruciating pain finally tore a scream from ie as her body began to vulse violently, her eyes rolling back. Moments ter, a phantom-like figure began to emerge from her body, seemingly dragged out by the Scythe of Souls wielded by Malthael. Her youthful face quickly began to age, her once smooth and delicate skin drying and crag like a bark. Within mere breaths, the vibrant young womaeriorated into the frailty of an old e.

As Alex flicked his hands, the phantom soul was fully extracted from ie's body by the Scythe of Souls. The spectral figure struggled desperately to return to its host, but the very moment, it was ed by the roiling tide of death emanating from Malthael, vanishing into the abyss beh his dark robes.

  “No!!”

Brand roared in anguish as he leapt to his feet, raising the Bde of Justibsp;high above his head. He charged forward with all his strength, sshing fiercely at the Scythe of Souls.

  g!!

As an artifact, the Bde of Justice was undeniably powerful. Brand’s full-force strike sent the Scythe of Souls flying upward. But Alex was not about to let Brand gain the upper hand so easily. As Brand’s attaded, Alex summoned his owhly energy, densing it onto the Voidbreaker Sword in his hand.

In a fsh, Alex appeared in front of Brand. Without hesitatiohrust the Voidbreaker Sword directly at Brand’s chest.

Brand gritted his teeth and, instead of retreating, charged forward with reckless determination. Abandoning all defense, he gripped the Bde of Justice with both hands, raising it high for a downward swing. He had already resolved that even if it cost him his life, he would drag Alex to the underworld with him!

But no one could have anticipated what happened .

Suddenly, a radiant golden light erupted out of nowhere!

  Boom!

A golden barrier rose like a solid wall, forcefully separating the two batants. Both Alex and Braaken aback, gng toward the source of the light.

It was then that they noticed the Statue of the Goddess of Order, standing at the front of the temple, glowing with a soft yet brilliant radiance.

  Could this be… diviervention?

Clutg the Voidbreaker Sword tightly, Alex’s face darkehough he had beeally prepared for the possibility, he hadn’t expected the Goddess of Order to interve this exaent.

What was she trying to do?

  “This is bad…”

The tense expression on Alex’s face was mirrored by Cardinal Karl and Stone, who now looked deeply ed.

This se was eerily remi of a historical catastrophe: the Fall of the Dark Corrupted Moon. Back then, Antonio’s rebellion against the Cardinals had been triggered by the Goddess’s intervention, leading to the darkest and most chaotic era in the history of the temple.

And now… could history be repeating itself?

As dread filled their hearts, a sudden and ued transformation unfolded.

  Boom!!

Uhe watchful gaze of the crowd, the right hand of the Statue of the Goddess of Order, which held the Staff of Order, began to glow with dazzling golden light. A beam of radiant energy shot forth, enveloping Brand.

Then, to everyone’s shock, the Bde of Justice, gripped tightly in Brand’s hands, trembled as though responding to the light. It slipped free of its master’s grasp, slowly rising into the air.

With a sudden fsh, the Bde of Justice vanished into the golden light, as if drawn to it, disappearing without a trace.

As the Bde of Justice disappeared, the statue’s radiance dimmed, and the barrier that had separated Alex and Brand dissolved into nothingness.

For a long moment, silence reigned.

“How could… how could this happen…?”

Brand stared at his y hands, his face a mask of despair. He felt as though the sky itself had colpsed.

As the sed wielder of the Bde of Justice, he had formed a sacred bond with the o just now, he had felt that e severed pletely. The Bde of Justice had abandoned him.

Not only that, but Bra his strength rapidly draining away, leaving him weak and powerless. The overwhelming power he once wielded had vanished along with the Bde of Justice.

  What did this mean?

Could this truly be the Will of the Goddess?
