When Fliegenda next awoke, it was to the chiming of a system message.
"Well... a good thing I let that point rest, it seems I just found a better use for it."
"Now that that's reached zero, I guess I need to reach the next level... time to hunt something bigger."
He pushed himself around using the effect of dash and grounding, the heavy footsteps he left behind only topped by the ever increasing storm that gathered to propell him forward as he targeted absolutely everything with tag stomp without activating it.
That went on for hours, until he understood those skills as much as he could without some type of teacher.
It was when all these skills gained a level up that he stopped his training and once again focussed on hunting. His goal this time? A healthy rabbit.
And thus the grind began. He looked for the creature, moving barely above the ground to avoid any distracting sounds as he followed the creatures tracks.
He saw many parts of the forest doing this, noticing how the trees grew darker the deeper he went and finding the rabbit eating at a weirdly coloured sapling.
Immediately, his instincts kicked in, and the two of them stared at each other.
It was a surprise for both of them when net like walls arose around the part of the forest they were in, though both of them knew that this would be a fight to the death.
"I am Fliegenda, first of my kind and Champion of TrueG0d... that sounds fucking stoopid..."
The rabbit nodded and got ready to pounce.
"I am sir Floof, champion of floof and fluffiest of this clearing!"
And after a second of silence, both combatants exploded into action, fists against paws, sword like teeth against a needle filled maw. Superior ground mobility against a flyinig opponent.
Though the speed of both champions would be impressive, the fight dragged on.
At first, they where evenly matched. A jump from sir Floof countered by Fliegendas use of reverse tag stomps, while the goblins dive attacks could not hit the much faster rabbit.
After what felt like hours, but was no more than a minute of dodging and attacking, the first mistake was made by Fliegenda.
As he expected the Rabbit to just jump, he did not expect the knightly furball to lay traps with his previous maneuvers.
He jumped and activated tag stomp to escape, but his foot was inside a hole sir Floof dug, not escaping fast enough for the heavenbound effect to kick in, thus slamming right into the rabbit, with both participants being knocked to the back of the arena.
Sir Floof was sure he landed a solid punch, and, even as he searched for his fragile opponents remains, something felt wrong.
After three hours of running around, he once again settled on his favourite passtime. Munching on grass.
The grass in these parts of the forest where particularly great, and good enough to slow down his reaction when his danger sense ticket off.
His last thoughts where dedicated to the lack of a kill notification, when he mashed that stupid goblin.
Fliegenda looked at his arm in horror. He had waited in statue mode for quite a while, the grievous wound that the rabbits amplified hit left behind somewhat healed during his petrification. When he used four uses of tag stomp, he did not expect the arm he focussed it on to be ripped from the statue his remaining body had become.
As the horror of having crippled himself dawned upon him, so did the hunger. He devoured the rabit, the blood landing on the tree, before he re equipped the left arm he lost in the fight, now desperately searching for a way to attach it.
"That sounds like a lot of work..." he muttered, drawing up his character screen to estimate his situation.
"Yeah... fuck..."
