As the dusk of the second day settled, Fliegenda realised that he needed to find a den that would accept him.
He supressed most of his instincts for two days so far, and it became harder to supress the urge to dig out a hole and procreate with the nearest humanoid creature.
Those were the thoughts that filled his head as he stumbled through the forest, the lack of an arm making him realize his own fragility.
"I guess I'll head towards the setting sun from now on, hiding as a statue during the day, and flying at night until I see a place to live in..."
And with that promise, he focussed on the sun's direction and followed it, beating his wings and taking to the sky once more.
He travelled over the canopy, following the slightly sloping forest until he found a river.
As he followed the water downstream like the webnovels he read back in his old world told him, the forest soon turned into rolling hills of green, while the mountains in the north he originally came from disappeared behind the horizon.
His journey took him southwards as the river made a bend. The fullmoon above illuminates everything in its soft light.
He tried multiple arial manoeuvres, sometimes taking different spell parts to see what would happen.
"Binding from groundbound, air mana and movement from tag stomp..."
As he cast the spell, his intelligence once again went to work repairing and optimizing the magic until he released it and, for the first time, worked in his favour.
He became even lighter, his body becoming invisible and his movement even quicker.
He dashed over the skies and smiled as the endless hills beneath him slowly decreased in height and turned into flat grassland.
He remembered his home in the netherlands and how much grassland they had there, as the system gave him his favourite kind of notification.
"That sounds awesome..."
He muttered, the english words disappearing as he scattered the syllables around.
His speed increased, and he started a mad dash as seven points of willpower spread between become breeze and jet legs, his speed soon supassing that of sound, a booming noise heralding his arrival to the creatures of the ground.
Slowly, the wind became more, and clouds followed the vacuum that Fliegenda left behind on his path, as the hills and trees zipped beneath him.
The land grew ever sparser around the river as the forest remained northwest of him, though his direction shifted as the river drifted southwards, forcing him to make a decision.
"Do I try to surround the world, or do I follow the river until I find civilisation?"
He pondered before he decided to make a stop for the evening. The sun was slowly creeping over the horizon behind him, and he gently floated to the ground, arriving there soon after and immediately turning himself into a Statue, though he kept become breeze active, curious what would happen if both of them where used at the same time. As he used three willpower for each of them, he activated groundbound aswell, just to be sure as he closed his eyes and fell asleep
Just as he began to see fields on the horizon, the first rays of sunshine illuminated the ever increasing darkness.
As thoughts of the people he lost threatened to overwhelm his mind, he called for his character screen once more.
"Nothing will ever take my strength from me... or my soul. Do you hear that sys? I'll be the first among champions, even if I have to kill thousands for it. True G0d took me from my family and friends, but at least here I will be better. The next elves I see will be nice people. They can't all be racist, can they?"
He asked into the night, closing his eyes as the promised grand announcement came.
"Wait... the broadcast is the work of a god? One that knows everything?"
But it was too late to concentrate, as Fliegenda fell asleep.
