Nails

Excitedly Ozlo runs through the shop, stopping when he reaches his master. "Burgin, I did it!"

Taken aback, Burgin looks the boy in his eyes. "Calm down boy, what did you do?"

"I folded the copper, like you told me. And I didn't even break it." Ozlo points back at the anvil he was just moments ago using.

Burgin walks over to Ozlo's station. "Aye, let me look here..." He gives Ozlo's "creation" a good once over before deeming his creation a success. "Good work lad, you've successfully bent the copper... And it only took you a whole afternoon. Now it's time for you to make something."

Ozlo quickly asks. "What am I making?"

Gesturing to the rack Burgin says. "We, we are making some simple copper nails. Grab me the hammer boy and I'll show you how it's done."

  "Yes sir."

For the first time in a long time Ozlo felt excited, really excited. He no longer felt two steps from the village idiot. Ozlo had hope. Hope that he could be productive, useful, and NOT stupid. At least not AS stupid.
