Chapter 5: A Perfect Match

"Big Brother Du Han, good morning."

Early in the morning, Du Han, who had arrived at the small wooden house, was greeted by Leo's smiling face. Seeing Leo looking as if he had been waiting for a long time, Du Han was somewhat surprised. In his memory, none of the nobles he had encountered ever got up so early. Which noble would not sleep until the sun was high in the sky? This young noble named Leo was indeed a bit special.

Actually, Leo was feeling quite depressed inside. He also wanted to have a nice zy sleep, but how could he sleep peacefully with things on his mind? Early this morning, Leo started pondering over his golden finger again. The attributes he discovered st night did not include introductions to wolf souls and broken corpses, so naturally, Leo wanted to dig out other information.

After much fumbling, Leo finally saw what he wanted to know: Wolf Soul 1/100, Broken Corpse 1/? ?, Upgrade Energy 1/100.

The current wolf soul and broken corpse were obtained from the wild wolf that had tried to eat him yesterday. Leo didn't think too much about it; judging by the look of it, if he didn't collect a hundred wolf souls, he probably wouldn't see any changes. As for the quantity of the broken corpse, it was shrouded in mystery and unclear, so Leo temporarily set it aside. But the upgrade energy really surprised Leo. Did this upgrade energy, which accounted for one percent, mean that once he obtained a hundred percent of the upgrade energy, he could level up?

Being able to level up and having a way to do so was absolutely great news for Leo. After a burst of joy, the question arose again: How did he obtain the upgrade energy? Connecting with what happened yesterday, Leo narrowed down the target to the wild wolf that was killed and the herbs he picked.

Did he obtain the upgrade energy when Du Han killed the wild wolf, or when he kicked the wild wolf's corpse and absorbed the wolf soul and broken corpse, or when he followed the instructions in his head to pick the herbs? Although he was inclined to believe that he obtained the upgrade energy when killing the wild wolf, on such an important matter concerning his future, Leo dared not be careless. He would not make a hasty conclusion without testing it.

But wanting to test it brought up the problem.

Picking herbs was easy enough; after all, the main road from Goldshire to Stormwind City was safe, and there were no shortage of herbs beside the road. He could just go out for a walk and verify it. But what about killing wild wolves? What should he do? He didn't have the ability to kill wild wolves now. Moreover, Du Han mentioned yesterday that there were not only wolves in the Elwynn Forest but also more ferocious carnivores like bears.

To test whether killing wild wolves would yield upgrade energy, unless someone helped him.

Ask Du Han to take action again? Leo shook his head. Although they didn't interact much yesterday, Leo could tell that Du Han was not someone he could command. He wouldn't do something without benefits.

How could he get Du Han to help him? What benefits could he offer? After thinking for a while while stroking his chin, Leo finally came up with a pn.

Judging from the delighted look in Du Han's eyes when he accepted the herbs he divided to him yesterday, if his herbalist could provide some herbs for him, then he should be able to achieve his goal.

Therefore, after seeing Du Han come to find him and having an idea, Leo, after exchanging a few pleasantries with the town constable, began to persuade him: "Big Brother Du Han, you've seen my situation. I'm penniless right now. If I couldn't still pick herbs to make a living, I really don't know what to do. But for me to go into the forest to pick herbs is no different from courting death. Big Brother Du Han, can we make a deal?"

Hearing Leo's words, Du Han's eyebrows slightly furrowed. Could this Leo be thinking of asking him to protect him to the forest to pick herbs? Although an herbalist is worth making friends with, as a town constable, he has many things to do. It might be okay once or twice, but if it happens too often, then it won't work.

If he agreed to his request this time, then next time when he made such a request, it would be inconvenient to refuse. And once there's a first, there's a second, and then a third, fourth, and naturally, there will be more times, and then wouldn't it be annoying? Such a thing should not be agreed to. But he had just accepted his benefits yesterday; it would seem ungrateful if he didn't agree today.

Du Han was quite embarrassed for a moment. Why did Leo make such a request? It seemed that these nobles were really troublesome; he should interact with him less in the future.

Du Han didn't speak, but Leo couldn't let the room fall silent, so he continued to say the method he thought of: "Big Brother Du Han, look, what if we do this? Goldshire has guards patrolling every day, right? My meaning is that when the guards patrol, they can take care of me a little, letting me follow behind to pick herbs. Of course, everyone has worked hard to help me, and I would feel uncomfortable if I didn't repay them. I am willing to give ten percent of the income from each herb picking as a thank-you for everyone's hard work. Big Brother Du Han, what do you think?"

Ten percent each time? Leo's words made Du Han's eyes light up. Thinking of the value of the herbs he got yesterday, which were enough to make him work hard for a month or two, Du Han was tempted. Although Leo only said that he would take out ten percent in the future, this was a long-term business, and it wasn't bor-intensive.

Isn't it just sending people to patrol and asking the guards to pay a little more attention to protecting Leo? This is too simple. It doesn't interfere with his own affairs, and he gets extra money; where can he find such a good deal? At this moment, Du Han had already thrown the idea of interacting less with Leo out of the window.

Who was Leo? He was someone who had fought in the fiercely competitive workpce on Earth. Reading people's expressions was an important skill in the workpce, and Du Han realized it the moment he was tempted.

Before Du Han could speak, Leo spoke first, and he spoke very nicely: "Big Brother Du Han, you mustn't refuse, okay? Although the money isn't much, it's also my sincerity. If you refuse, I will have no face to ask everyone to help for free. I might as well find another way to make a living."

Refuse? Where would I refuse? If I refused such a good deal, wouldn't that be stupid?

Du Han, who originally wanted to pretend to be polite, saw the look on Leo's face and was really afraid that he would change his mind, so he quickly patted his chest and agreed.

Leo wanted to verify his idea and at the same time pick some herbs to work hard to fill his stomach, while Du Han wanted to increase his income. The two of them were truly a perfect match. Actually, this was also a matter of mutual benefit.

After finalizing the cooperation, Du Han didn't dey. He gave Leo a few pieces of bck bread he had brought for breakfast and then said: "Brother Leo, today it's still big brother leading the team. Have something to eat, and we'll be ready to hit the road ter."

Hit the road! Leo almost choked on Du Han's word. Hey, this word is not auspicious, pah, pah, what am I thinking about?
