As autumn fades, winter arrives.
Diana rides on the back of Conri's motorcycle, the wind brushing against her face as she watches him.
Their journey leads them to a secluded, luxurious pool vil overlooking the sea. The vil boasts a private sauna and an infinity pool, offering breathtaking views.
As Diana gazes at the surroundings, a strange sense of familiarity washes over her, though she has no recollection of ever being here before.
At the reception, Conri retrieves the key card, and they board a buggy that takes them deeper into the property.
A feeling of déjà vu creeps into Diana's mind-she swears she has experienced this moment before, yet she has no memory of ever setting foot in this pce.
Eventually, the buggy comes to a stop.
Conri steps out first, turning back to her. "Follow me."
Diana hesitates. The feeling is nostalgic, yet unexpinable.
With a swift motion, Conri scans the key card and unlocks the room.
As Diana steps inside, she takes in her surroundings, and an unsettling realization dawns on her-the pce looks eerily familiar.
Conri gently pces a hand on her shoulder. "Are you hurt?"
Diana shakes her head. "No, I'm fine... just hungry."
Conri nods. "Let's grab a te-night meal." Without another word, he heads out, and Diana follows.
They walk past towering palm trees, the moon casting shadows on the sandy beach. The sky is painted in shades of light orange, its reflection shimmering over the water. A soft, sweet fragrance lingers in the air.
"This feeling... it's nostalgic," Diana murmurs.
Conri leads her to a beachfront pub café, its warm glow inviting.
As Diana surveys the pce, she realizes-this is the only location that doesn't exist in her memories.
Conri hands her a menu. "What would you like to drink?"
Diana scans the options and settles on a Blue Cura?ao Mojito. She also orders crab with melon, tomato, ginger, and cheese tuiles.
Conri orders a cherry dessert for her, along with steak, ribs, and tomato juice for himself. "We can share. If it's not enough, we can always order more."
Diana chuckles. "If I eat too much this te, I won't be able to sleep."
Conri smirks. "That's a fair point. Let's just enjoy the music."
Soon, their food arrives.
Diana takes a bite of the crab dish and is pleasantly surprised by its rich fvors.
Conri cuts a piece of steak and pces it on her pte. "Try this."
She takes a bite-the meat is juicy and fvorful. "Do you come here often?"
"Yes," Conri replies, "but mostly for business."
Diana studies him for a moment before he continues, "This pce is open 24 hours. We can come back for breakfast or try another restaurant in the morning."
Diana nods. "Let's try somewhere new for breakfast, then come back here at night. It has a romantic vibe."
Conri smiles. "I'm gd you like it. I do too."
Yet, something still feels off. There's a void in Diana's mind-something missing, but she can't figure out what.
Conri notices her expression. "You look lost in thought. What's wrong?"
"I... I feel like something is missing, but I don't know what."
He raises an eyebrow. "Could it be that guy who chased after you?"
Diana shakes her head. "No, he didn't rob me. He just ran after the taxi I was in."
Conri's expression darkens. "Did you upset anyone?"
"No, I don't think so," Diana replies.
After a brief pause, Conri makes a decision. "Stay here for now. I'll find out who was after you. I'll also inform your school that you won't be attending for a while."
Diana exhales in relief. "Thank you."
After finishing their meal, they board the buggy and return to the vil.
"You can use the pool or the sauna," Conri offers.
Diana gnces at him. "Aren't you staying here?"
"I wish I could, but I have work to do. I'll be back in the morning so we can have breakfast together. Until then, don't open the door for anyone-you didn't order anything, so no one should be knocking. Stay inside, it's safer that way. If you need anything, let me know."
Diana nods. "Alright... but what's your number?"
Conri takes her phone, saves his number, and calls her. "Now you have it. If I don't pick it up, just send me a message."
"Okay," she agrees.
With that, Conri exits the room, leaving Diana alone.
Though full, she decides to unwind. First, she enters the sauna, but after just ten minutes, she steps out-it's too hot for her liking.
She moves to the pool, letting the cool water rex her. As she gazes at the starry sky, a sudden image fshes in her mind-the red moon.
A sharp pain shoots through her head. She quickly gets out of the pool.
Hurrying to the washroom, she takes a shower and then colpses onto the bed.
Memories slowly trickle back.
"The red moon... I've seen it before. But wasn't it just a dream? Why does it feel like it's becoming real?"
The pain intensifies, making it impossible to think.
Gncing at her phone, she considers calling Conri but hesitates-he's working, and she doesn't want to disturb him.
Eventually, exhaustion overtakes her, and she drifts into sleep.
Meanwhile, Conri is already looking into the man who chased Diana.
He dials a number. "Edward, can you track the person who was after Diana earlier?"
Edward's voice is serious. "I followed the bck car after you left with her. The driver refused to say who sent him, but he warned that this is just the beginning-the mastermind won't stop."
Conri's expression hardens. "Understood. Head to where Diana is now. I'll send you the location. If you see anyone suspicious, record them."
"Got it. I'm on my way," Edward replies.
"Good. Keep me updated," Conri says before ending the call.
As Conri dials his secretary, he gives clear instructions, "Please send me all the meeting schedules and necessary documents via email. I'll be away from the office until further notice."
The secretary responds, "Sir, your presence is required for the company's annual meetings."
"I'm aware," Conri replies. "I'll join via video conference so everyone can see me. The meetings will proceed as usual, just without me physically present. Simply connect the ptop to the projector."
"Understood, Sir. I'll send you the details now and forward the meeting minutes afterward."
After ending the call, Conri heads home to grab his ptop, chargers, and a few essentials. He packs his belongings into a suitcase along with a rge, empty leather bag.
Deciding to leave his motorcycle behind, he opts for his car instead.
Before heading to his destination, Conri stops by the bank to withdraw 50,000 in cash, storing the money securely in his leather bag. The banker provides bills in various denominations, including 50, 100, 1,000, and 10,000 notes.
Suddenly, Conri remembers the custom-made neckce he had ordered for Diana, which was ready for pickup. Without hesitation, he drives to the jewelry store.
Upon arrival, he presents his receipt. "Is my item ready for collection?"
"Yes, Sir. Please wait a moment," the staff responds before retrieving the neckce. It glistens with iridescent hues, featuring a heart-shaped design crafted from seashells and pearls.
"The piece is stunning," the employee remarks.
Conri nods. "Please pce it in a gift box. It's a present."
"Certainly, Sir. One moment."
Once he receives the boxed neckce, Conri resumes his journey to the resort.
Not long into the drive, he notices his fuel gauge nearing empty. Checking the time, he makes a quick stop at the nearest gas station to refuel. While waiting, he grabs a quick snack before continuing.
As he drives, a thought lingers- Diana is alone at the resort. She might be feeling uneasy.
Upon arrival, Conri parks his car and loads his luggage and the leather bag onto a buggy before heading to the room.
Quietly scanning the door card, he steps inside and finds Diana fast asleep. Taking the opportunity, he gently pces the neckce around her neck.
"Did I wake you?" he asks softly.
Diana stirs, holding her head. "I have a headache."
Concerned, Conri quickly calls the reception to request painkillers and orders food.
Shortly after, a staff member arrives with the medicine and meal. Conri hands Diana the food. "Eat something first before taking the painkillers."
Diana takes a few bites before noticing Conri isn't eating. "Aren't you having anything?"
"I had something light earlier. We'll have lunch together ter. Get some rest after taking your medicine."
As she heads to the bathroom, Diana catches sight of herself in the mirror. The neckce around her neck gleams with rainbow-like hues. Examining it closely, she murmurs, "This design... it looks familiar."
Curious, she steps out and confronts Conri. "Did you put this on me?"
"Yes," he confirms. "Do you like it? It's called Eternality Love. I designed it myself using seashells and pearls. It's one of a kind."
Hearing the name, Diana freezes. "I've heard those words before."
Conri tilts his head. "Where?"
"In my dream... it felt so real."
"A dream?" He raises an eyebrow. "That's interesting."
Neither presses further on the matter.
As Conri unpacks his ptop, Diana gnces at him. "Do you have work to do? Sorry for being a bother."
"You're not a bother. I can work from anywhere as long as I have my ptop. Get some rest. We'll go out for lunch ter."
Diana's gaze lingers on the rge leather bag but she refrains from asking about it.
Conri immerses himself in work while Diana drifts into another nap. A few hours ter, he notices she's still asleep and gently wakes her.
"How are you feeling? I'll order food here since you're not well."
Diana rubs her temples. "I feel a little dizzy." She leans against Conri's chest. "Have we been here before? I told you about my dream... In it, you gave me this neckce, then got injured. The moon turned red, and you left after hearing a sound. I was alone... I was scared. Please don't leave me."
Conri reassures her, "I won't unless it's dangerous for you to go outside. But don't worry, I won't be leaving since I have work. We can go out after office hours."
He gently touches her forehead before pressing a light kiss on it.
Diana's cheeks flush. "You should focus on work. I don't want to keep distracting you."
Checking his watch, Conri decides, "Let's order lunch. What would you like?"
Diana looks at him expectantly. "What's on the menu?"
Conri searches online for nearby restaurants. "This one delivers to the resort. They have set lunches with starters like grilled garlic bread, Caesar sad, or mushroom soup. Main courses include sagna, carbonara, pesto pasta, Hawaiian pizza, or salmon pizza. For dessert, there's tiramisu or geto, and it comes with coffee or tea."
Diana decides, "I'll have grilled garlic bread, Hawaiian pizza, tiramisu, and coffee."
"Tiramisu contains alcohol," Conri warns. "You should pick geto."
She pouts. "It's been a while since I had tiramisu. Let me have it this once?"
With a sigh, Conri gives in. "Just this time."
After pcing the order, he pays with his credit card.
A while ter, the doorbell rings, signaling the food's arrival. Conri takes the bags inside.
"Let's eat at the dining table," he suggests.
Diana joins him, and they share their meals, trying bites of each other's dishes.
Partway through, she checks her phone. "My battery's dead. Do you have a charger?"
Noticing her phone model, Conri retrieves a compatible charger from his luggage. "Here, use this."
As she plugs it in, he advises, "Unless it's urgent, don't use your phone too much. If you need to contact your parents, just let them know you're okay."
Diana shakes her head. "They're overseas. I don't want to worry about them."
After finishing their meal, Conri resumes his work. Diana, too full to sleep, lounges on the sofa, watching TV with the volume lowered.
"I'll be working upstairs," Conri informs her.
Diana blinks. "There's an upstairs?"
"Yes, the mirror over there hides a staircase. I thought you knew."
Shaking her head, she follows him as he slides the mirror open.
The second floor is surprisingly spacious, featuring a lounge area, a TV, and a business meeting set up with a conference projector.
Spotting another staircase tucked behind the sofa, Diana points. "Where does that lead?"
"Let's find out," Conri says.
On the third floor, they discover a game room with a pool table and a small lounge bar.
Diana marvels at the space. "This vil is a perfect mix of work and leisure."
Conri is equally surprised-he had never explored the entire pce before.
"I'll stay downstairs," Diana decides. "I don't know how to py pool, and you have work to do."
"If you need anything, just come up," Conri reminds her. "If I'm on a call, wait for me on the sofa. And don't open the main door for anyone."
She nods in agreement.
Hours ter, the doorbell rings persistently.
Diana gets up to check, her eyes widening in surprise.
Standing at the door is Lowe.
Hearing the repeated ringing, Conri descends the stairs, his expression hardening. "Who is it?"
