Chapter 2

“—and it's all his fault.” Echoed through the empty white space, the wizard being left in disbelief with a tear dropping by the side of his eye.

Meanwhile, Kazerk and the gang found themselves in the vast field of blue flowers, Millie tucked her hair behind her ear and watched in wonder, “So pretty…” she commented, her hand slowly going up to her phone again and attempts to turn it on.

With no luck of the phone turning on, Millie kneeled down in defeat.

Illiad waved, “Everyone! Let's not split up!” he shouted, his eyes moving to the several duos splitting up from the main group, “If you guys get lost, we won't be able to get out of here with full stomaches!” he announced, only few followed, the rest was too far to hear him.

Illiad just sighed tiredly, his head facing to Kazerk, “So, what did the old man said?” he asked and Kazerk looked at him with a bnk expression.

  “Ha?” Kazerk replied.

“Hatdog!” Leon shouted from the crowd.

Illiad let out a bead of sweat, “What did the old ma—”

“Oh, he said he'd give us abilities to survive in this world. We can either be heroes or just normal civilians.” Kazerk answered, “Basically, we died and he gave us another chance to live here instead.”

That caused an uproar in the crowd.

  “What?! What about our families?!”

“My mother is sick! She needs me!”

“My siblings too! I'm the only one who works in my family!”

“Wait!! I have to meet my grandpa in the hospital!”

“This has to be a joke, right?! I still need to pay for my dad's medicine!”

The students, their faces in a frown, worried for their people back in their home.

Olive then raised his hand up high and opened his mouth, “It's okay! I'm sure we can get back home!” he shouted, “If there's a way here then there's a way back!” he reassured.

Callise then stepped forward with her hand raised by her shoulder, “And for how long will that take us? Not many of us has the luxury of time.” she asked.

Olive backed a step, “I—” he stared, from Callise to everyone before turning his head to the ground, “I'm not sure…” he replied, facing to Kazerk with a hopeful look, “Did the old man said something about going back home?” he asked but Kazerk only shook his head. Causing some to gasp or wonder.

“But seeing he is a wizard. That must mean there's magic here.” Kazerk said, “Maybe we could get powerful enough to get back home!” they suggested with a bright smile on their face.

Everyone ignored Kazerk though, causing Kazerk to shrink back.

Illiad, on the other hand, focused on the group, "For now, let's find other people. Maybe we could ask for help." he suggested and everyone nodded along.

And with everyone following Illiad in the lead, Kazerk stays at the way back of the line.

As always, Kazerk has their head down, gazing at the grass and flowers below her. Pretty like her maybe, or that's too much to compare a flower to her.

Olive then perked up, "Hey, didn't Oli said something about abilities?"

Illiad gnced at his friend for a few seconds before looking back on the pathless road, "Kazerk Oli? Yeah, she did." he answered, his brows furrowed in thought, "...I think..?"

Olive deadpans, "Geez, you asked her and you didn't even listen?" he replied and Illiad shrugged.

"She's not right in the head." Illiad said, "She might've heard wrong. Have you seen her scores on everything? It's terrible!" he made a quick gnce behind him before whispering, "She's not really reliable in terms of information."

Olive's hands went behind his ear and scratched, "Harsh." he replied, "She still passed the css, you know."

Illiad snorted, "Bet she did something."

"Aaahh!!! Look! Look!" A female student shouted, Krow Sherly.

Illiad and Olive paused their walks and turned behind them, Krow had a holographic screen in front of her.

Olive's eyes widened, "Woah, what's that, Sherly?" he asked, coming closer to the woman.

"It's a Status Window like in games." Krow answered, "Look! I have an ability!" she positioned herself to let Olive read the words, "Desired Types".

"What does that mean?" Olive asked.

"I have no idea." Krow answered.

"I wanna check mine too, how did you do it?" Olive asked and Krow gave him a thumbs up.

"Just say Open Window." Krow answered and Olive thanked.

Olive checked his ability and he got, "Up High".

Not making any sense, he raised a brow, faced Krow, and asked, "What does this mean?" and Krow shrugged.

"Don't even know mine. Maybe there's details." Krow said, "There." she pointed just below the ability's name.

When Olive clicked, the details read, "Makes people feel high but the user will be the one to feel the hungover by the end of it. No illness will appear."

There was silence for Olive while Illiad gred hard at Olive with a raging look in his eyes.

"Olive..." Illiad started, pointing at the details, "Didn't you say you never do drugs—" Olive swiftly turned his head to Illiad with a horrid look on his face.

"No!!! I really don't!! I don't why my ability is this!" Olive defended, facing back to his Status Window, "Maybe it's because of my aunt???" he guessed, "She's always drunk and then I had to make her a hangover soup."

Olive then closed his Status and turned to the group, "What about you guys? What do y'all get??" he asked.

Illiad checked his and said, "I get to summon weapons but only one per day."

Bob, who was in the crowd, shouted, "I get to read secrets!" his voice slowly dropped as he read through his details, "But only if tell my most embarrassing secret first..."

Some ughed, some don't, and few thinks it's rather useful.

And then there's Lavender, who can heal by connecting through the pnts, see in their perspective and look through the past. And during that, she could change the past in order to avoid the person she's trying to heal not get damaged.

At first, everyone thinks it's a good ability but then Lavender stated that if she had to change the past then their current reality might get disrupted.

It was dangerous and needed time to actually "heal" a person.

One by one, everyone got to tell their abilities. Kazerk was the weird one, said the details was only, "Give out quests and Level-Up."
