Chapter 43: Complicated Emotional Entanglements
“?”
The CEO actually wasn’t angry—and even asked her to sit down? Was there such a thing as a free lunch?
Ye Xian gnced at the table full of exquisite and delicious dishes. She couldn’t help but feel like she’d walked into a trap.
But not only did the big boss not punish her, he even invited her to dine. How could she dare be picky?
Nervously and obediently, Ye Xian sat down, secretly observing the subtle expressions on his face.
“If that one’s too much, I’ll just switch to another.”
Ye Xian: “Switch? Switch… what?”
Bo Tingshen picked up a fine white jade porcein teapot and poured a cup of genmaicha, then gently pushed it toward her.
Ye Xian was stunned by the gesture. The CEO himself poured her tea? What had she done to deserve this? Was there poison in the tea?
“Winston’s newest season of apparel is about to unch. They’re interested in partnering with LD.COM. The first round of online presales will begin in July.”
“LD.COM?”
Wasn’t that her second brother’s e-commerce ptform?
Winston was a high-end menswear brand under the Bo Group, known for its superior quality and steep prices. She’d heard that even male celebrities in the entertainment industry had to book in advance to borrow their pieces for events.
So her suspicion was correct—unexpected kindness always comes with strings attached. Turns out the CEO wanted to trade those compromising photos for tangible business interests.
But if he wanted to work with LD.COM, he could have just approached Ye Shaowen directly. Why go through her?
“President Bo, I don’t quite understand. If Winston wants to colborate with LD.COM, shouldn’t you be talking to President Ye, not me?”
She smiled politely as she spoke, only to find Bo Tingshen staring at her intently with his piercing gaze, as if he could see right through her thoughts.
“I don’t like people who ask questions they already know the answers to.”
Pying dumb?
“But I really…”
“LD.COM already rejected Bo Group’s partnership proposal.”
Rejected it? Had her second brother lost his mind? Bo Group was wealthy and powerful. Colborating with LD.COM would’ve been a win-win. So many ptforms were dying for such a partnership—yet her brother turned it down? That was some next-level business blunder.
Unless…
Ye Xian suddenly recalled Ye Shaowen ranting over the phone multiple times about how much he hated Jiang Wanze, to the point that he probably extended that hatred to the entire Bo family. No wonder he pulled that stunt with the lingerie gift for the Bo family elder.
It must’ve been because Ye Shaowen held a grudge against Jiang Wanze for constantly bullying her—that’s why he refused the deal.
“Did President Ye reject it because of Jiang Wanze?”
Ye Xian asked casually, but Bo Tingshen’s brows immediately furrowed in displeasure. “I don’t want to hear about your complicated emotional entanglements.”
Ye Xian: “?”
What complicated emotional entanglements? There were no such things between them!
Wait—could it be that the CEO believed those rumors? That she was Ye Shaowen’s kept little mistress, and that’s why he came to talk to her?
So now he was upset because she dragged Jiang Wanze into it? Tch, what a devoted brother.
Bo Tingshen noticed Ye Xian zoning out and his frown deepened. “If you want access to the resources, you not only have to convince LD.COM to colborate with Winston, but also get Ye Shaowen to accept Winston’s terms.”
“You’re adding terms?”
“LD.COM must change all of June’s marketing slogans across every channel to Winston’s slogan, charge no more than 30% ptform commission, and commit to a strategic partnership for a minimum of three years.”
“Only 30%? And three years?”
Ye Xian’s eyes widened in disbelief.
