Chapter 44: Are You Done Talking?
“As the price for you getting the resources.”
“That price is way too steep!”
“You can say no.”
Bo Tingshen pushed away the teacup in front of him. His sharp, handsome face remained calm, leaving no room for negotiation.
“Think it over.”
How was she supposed to think it over?
She didn’t know the first thing about business—profit or loss in a deal with him would be entirely at his discretion.
“President Bo…”
“I won’t compromise.”
She hadn’t even finished speaking when Bo Tingshen cut her off.
“Then… can I make a condition too?”
“No.”
Ye Xian: “…” This man was way too domineering!
His long, well-defined fingers tapped slowly and rhythmically on the round Japanese-style table—like a predator in the jungle, patiently watching his prey.
Ye Xian clenched her teeth. Her second brother was right—Bo Tingshen really was a ruthless, calcuting businessman! He knew how important this opportunity was to her, knew she wouldn’t give it up, so he used it to get exactly what he wanted. How despicable! And to think just now she actually felt he wasn’t that bad, maybe even generous!
Noticing the frustration and anger written all over her face, Bo Tingshen’s expression rexed slightly, and he actually looked to be in a good mood. “Or are you saying you don’t even have the ability to do this? Ye Shaowen once paid 50 million as a deposit just to get you into FOR.”
“You investigated me?”
“It’s common knowledge.”
So he really did think Ye Shaowen was her financial backer—that’s why he was leveraging her.
A CEO of the Bo Group using such underhanded methods! Who knew how he amassed all that wealth?
Ye Xian silently cursed his ancestors in her heart.
“Have you made your decision?”
“Wait… let me think a bit more…”
Bo Group was powerful beyond measure, and its subsidiaries were strong—there was no need for them to bully her over a small commission fee. So they must really want to work with LD.COM, and he was just using her as a bridge. Her second brother only rejected the deal because of her. If that personal grudge was removed, wouldn’t this be a win-win? Or… was Bo Tingshen setting her up?
Whatever! She wasn’t about to let a cooked duck fly away. She’d say yes for now, then go back and ask her second brother if it was worth it. If it was, they’d sign; if not, she’d just pretend none of this ever happened.
“I… agree. But you have to personally call Director Li and get me into the cast.”
“The message was already sent.”
The message on his phone showed it had been delivered ten minutes ago.
That fast?
Didn’t that mean she had no room to back out?
So… from the start of this negotiation, he already knew how it would end?
Ye Xian had never met someone so arrogant and overbearing in her life—she nearly pinched her philtrum out of pure frustration.
But then again, thinking about how this man was someone she could never match in a lifetime, her heart found some consotion. Stumbling, she got to her feet.
“President Bo, I’ll keep my word and do what I promised you. As of today, we’re even. But there can’t be a next time! There’s nothing going on between me and LD.COM’s President Ye like you imagine. And also, please stop interfering with my access to resources! I haven’t liked your brother Jiang Wanze for a long time, and I’ll never chase after him like I used to. So there’s no need to come after me on his behalf! And since you think so little of me, I’ll prove myself in this new role—I’ve never had a performance that didn’t blow up!”
Ye Xian walked up to him like an angry little wildcat, fists clenched, gring at him from above as if warning him seriously.
“Are you done talking?”
Bo Tingshen narrowed his bck eyes, the corners twitching dangerously.
“Yes.”
Ye Xian swallowed hard. He was sitting, she was standing, and yet… why did it still feel like his aura crushed hers a hundredfold?
“Bye!”
Not daring to stay any longer in case this moody boss suddenly exploded and killed her, Ye Xian turned and ran.
Bo Tingshen stared at her fading figure, his eyes dark and unreadable.
No connection between them?
