Chapter 7

Now it's Monday in April, and we've just entered junior high school. Nothing special has happened besides the welcoming ceremony, introducing ourselves to cssmates, and meeting our homeroom teacher. So far, I haven't met any other anime characters besides my friends Ena and Rin. I've also sent my script, and this week the winner will be announced.

"Tadaima (we're home)," Rin and I said in unison as we opened the door.

"Hm?" We saw a box lying in the hallway.

"Kaa-san, there's a package in front!" Rin called out while taking off her shoes.

"Ah, that's camping equipment that Ji-chan no longer uses," Mother replied.

So this is the beginning of Rin’s camping journey, I thought.

"Do you want to check it out?" I asked.

"Maybe ter. Just put it somewhere for now," Rin answered casually.

"Kaa-san, where should I put this?" I asked as I entered the main room.

"Just put it on the table for now," Mother said.

  "Okay."

After pcing the package down, I went into my room to change clothes and turned on my ptop.

"Time to continue the story again," I murmured as I started typing.

Oh, by the way, since I don’t know if SAO will still exist in 2022, I decided to change the title to Sword Skill Online or SSO for short. I also changed the characters’ appearances—Kirito's hair and eye color now resemble Asuna’s, while Asuna has Kirito’s colors. The SSO arc will follow the original story, but I will make changes in the ALO and GGO arcs since I don’t want to continue them as they are. I also handle the transtion of SAO or SSO myself to maximize my profits.

"And done," I said, stretching my body. Looking out the window to my right, I saw that the sun was beginning to set.

I stepped out of my room and noticed that the door to the next room was open. Peeking inside, I saw a tent set up facing outward. I entered and found Rin sitting inside, reading a book. I sat next to her, just outside the tent.

  "How is it?" I asked.

"It's pretty nice. I think I want to try camping."

"Then go this week. As for the location, how about Lake Mototsu? You can see Mount Fuji from there."

  "I'll check."

"And don't forget to research what’s needed for winter camping."

  "Um," Rin replied.

  One week ter, on Saturday.

We stood in front of the house. Rin was already in the car with Dad.

"Rin, be careful. Do you have all the equipment? If you have any problems or don’t understand something, ask the people there or the staff," Mom reminded her.

"Rex, Mom. I have everything, and I’ll definitely ask if I have any issues."

"Rin, take this," I said, handing her a book.

  "What’s this?" she asked, puzzled.

"Check it before you start cooking. Next time, I'll join you camping."

  "Alright, I got it."

  Then Rin and Dad left.

I went back to my room and changed into a bck sweater with a dark red semi-parka on top and jeans. After that, I grabbed my backpack, which contained my ptop for negotiations.

As I stepped out of my room, I saw Mom sitting at the table, looking ready to leave.

"Kaa-san, where are you going?" I asked.

"Of course, I'm taking you. We can talk while walking."

I simply nodded, and we walked to the station, which was thirty minutes away.

A few minutes ter, Mom finally spoke.

"Natsu, you already know, don’t you?"

  "Hm?"

So, Mom already realized that I knew I wasn’t her biological child.

"So, you’ve known all along… how did you find out?"

It seemed pointless to avoid answering.

"I’ve known for a long time. If you ask how, no one told me. But my hair color and face shape are a bit different."

"besides that when we were taking care of you, there was a 3 month gap with Rin, That was already suspicious."

"Even though there are special cases where twins are born a month apart at most, Rin and I are too different."

"Does Rin know?" Mom asked again.

"I never asked. Maybe she does."

"Then why did you start writing a novel? Do you feel awkward around us? We consider you our child, so there’s no need to feel that way."

"No, I also see you all as my family. I just want to buy things with my own money." Camping equipment is expensive, and I also want to introduce many people to the stories in my world, I thought to myself.

"If you make it into the top three, just save your money. Let us pamper you a little longer."

  I nodded.

"Alright, this is where we part. Be careful and don’t go to any suspicious pces."

  "I understand, Kaa-san."

Then, Mom hugged me, and of course, I hugged her back.

"I won't ask where I come from, besides, I feel at home living here" I whispered to her.

making her tense for a moment.

besides I'm sure they'll have a hard time expining it too

  After a while, we parted.

  "I’m off."

  "Take care."

After Natsuyuki disappeared from sight, Saki sighed.

"Haa… why does that child always grow up so fast?" After compining softly, she turned around and walked back home.
