Dr. Vitkor Pride, a genius generations ahead of his colleagues is genetic engineering and biological sciences, got more than he bargained for when he sets out create the first non-human sapient species in a act of extreme hubris, and actually succeeds in an accident that is more of a miracle than anything. He now has to raise a very unusual child while in hiding, figure out how to keep the authorities from dissecting him, and deal with the political fallout of his eventual reveal to the world. He also has to face his own faults and the philosophical ramifications of a non-human species that claims he was created not by him, but by God. They are both going to grow in ways they never imagined.
