The sky was a vibrant blue. The clouds fluffier and the grass greener. It was a beautiful world that I've always imagined when reading stories. A single deep inhale of the fresh air was enough to make me feel alive.
It also rained. The trees changed color, and for the first time even saw snow.
Yes, I was still alive due to an unknown reason.
But, the one back on Earth probably died. No, she definitely did and that consciousness somehow transferred here.
Because of that, I cried and wailed a lot on another person's bosom. With that in mind, I started to think that every baby that was born was like me and eventually began to accept one's circumstance.
Obviously, that was just my own way of thinking. I didn't know if every baby was a reincarnator.
Besides that...
After a few years of living in this world, I grew up to be five years old and despite the negative emotions from the start, the previous "me" was retively enjoying it.
"Iris! Py with us!"
The little girl's name was Olvida and the boy next to her was called Casey.
Even in this world, my parents gave me the same name as my previous one and it spooked me for a little while because when you think about it, what were the chances that my previous name would also be the same as here?
It definitely made me think that someone brought me here as a way to apologize or fix a mistake. And in that same manner, I must've gained an ability or the infamous "cheat".
That's what I felt after reading those novels of characters who shared the same fate as me.
Usually, that meant meeting with a goddess of some sort. Probably a goddess who ruled over this world that saw me die.
I didn't really remember exactly how I died.
It was excruciatingly painful for an instant and the st thing I remembered was my hand reaching out for someone. That was all.
But the thing is, there was absolutely nothing. When I came to, I was already here and it felt like I slept for so long that it was starting to get boring. I didn't meet any goddess and I—
"Stop spacing out! Come!"
"H-Hey! I-I'm going to fall!"
Olvida suddenly took my wrist and pulled me all of a sudden. If I continued this momentum, I'd fall face first into a puddle. Fortunately, Casey was there to help me.
"Iris, you're so slow."
That was what he said to me.
Honestly... Dealing with kids was a pain but also quite funny. We lived in a vilge with limited entertainment so seeing these two and observing them can be fun sometimes like what kind of ideas and surprises they'd show me.
And deep inside, I also felt excitement bubbling up.
"T-That's because you surprised me all of a sudden!" They let me fix my footing before moving ahead, my legs struggling to move.
Growing up together with them also excited me. Why? Because it was something I never had. My memories of my past self could probably sum to as "lonely" if people were to look at it, but I didn't feel that way since I had my parents who cared for me.
Looking at Olvida and Casey pulling both my hands, I began to use my legs to keep up with them into the forest which was nature's pyground. What would we find and what games would we py?
Before I knew it, I already found myself feeling a part of this world.
Yes. Despite how I got here...
Second chances...Just how rare was that? If anything, I wanted to live long and enjoy my life.
