Chapter 3
Flynn and Nalia both sat down, with the mana manipution technique before them. They were glued to the scroll pensively.
Prosperous Mind Mana Manipution was an Elite ranked technique. It was created by a 6th Echelon mage of the Mage Association of Asper City.
Normally, the creators of these techniques sold the techniques after creating them to the Mage Association. While some kept the techniques to themselves, sometimes selling them to rich clients.
The Mage association of that respected city then distributes the techniques to other Mage Associations of different cities.
Prosperous Mind Mana Manipution was one such technique, which was made in Asper City Of Atytia Kingdom, and then was distributed by the Mage Association of the city to the Capital City Atnta.
A mage could only make techniques like these after ascending to the 6th Echelon, where they were known as Grand Mage. A Grand Mage had a deep understanding of mana, and how the circution of the technique would be better for lower-ranked mages. Thus, they were the ones who made the techniques for the mages. Of course, the case was different regarding 7th Echelon and above-ranked mages.
“Prosperous Mind Mana Manipution is a technique inspired by the usage of mana of a 7th Echelon mage,” Flynn and Nalia began to read the technique’s description. “It focuses on the mana of the whole body of the user, where they feel the surging warmth in their body.”
After feeling the mana of the body, one had to concentrate towards their mana circle position, where the first mana circle would be created. The location was in their sor plexus, just below the ribs.
The mana circle was intangible and ethereal, which could be felt only by a mage. And it was the powerhouse of a mage.
After concentrating on the core of the yet-to-be-formed circle, one had to constantly exhale and inhale atmospheric mana. It usually felt warm and cozy doing the process at the start. After a certain time, the user felt electric-like shockwaves in their sor plexus.
At that time, the user feels itchy in the core of the sor plexus. The whole thing usually sts several hours to a couple of days while practicing the technique.
When the electric shockwaves end, the user feels warm once again as they now have to pull all the mana in their body towards their core.
Finally, with utter concentration and control the user would be able to form their first mana circle. From then on, they would be known as Mage.
Flynn was excited thinking all that while reading the technique’s description, just as Nalia was. Both of them began to follow the procedure described in the technique.
Flynn closed his eyes as he began to feel the mana throughout his body. He felt the surging waves of mana as he breathed carefully. After a few moments, he felt the shockwaves mentioned in the technique as he circuted, complying with everything step by step.
He felt like ants were crawling in his core, and there were itchy sensations under his skin as he circuted the Prosperous Mind Mana Manipution technique.
The process continued for two hours before he eventually stopped the technique’s circution.
‘Seems like I have to practice more. I felt almost like forming the first mana circle, sigh…’ Flynn thought about the whole process as he reflected everything in his mind.
He turned towards Nalia as he saw her looking at him with a neutral face. “You failed, too?” He asked her.
Nalia sighed softly, “Yeah, it seems difficult forming the first circle.” she looked at his pale face as her red eyes gleamed slightly. “So, you didn’t succeed,” She stated as a matter of fact.
“Yeah, though I felt like almost succeeding. It felt like ants were crawling under my skin when the shockwaves started. It was not mentioned in the technique’s description.” Flynn was dejected as it was his first time trying to form his mana circle.
However it was not shocking since most people failed in their first couple of times while trying to form the first mana circle. Some even encountered accidents while trying for the first time, though it was rare.
“Well…I formed my first mana circle.” Nalia said gleefully while slightly avoiding looking at him. “Hehe.”
“What?” Flynn was gobsmacked as he looked at her avoiding his eyes. “So you lied!” He felt even more depressed knowing that she was able to form her mana circle before him.
She giggled a little while saying, “It didn’t take me long, only more than half an hour before I was able to form my first circle. Then I spent another half an hour familiarizing myself with my new core.”
She saw him looking at her with his mouth open slightly as she continued, “When I opened my eyes, I saw you were still struggling with your process.”
“Hmph, don’t talk to me.” Flynn was a little angry as his eyes darted around her, “So you are now officially a Mage.”
Nalia chuckled lightly as she replied, “Well, yes, but I still have to go to the mage association to verify myself as a 1st Echelon mage and get my Mage badge from them. So I’ll be going to the Asper City tomorrow with Uncle Tom.”
“I see, good luck.” Flynn was still crestfallen thinking that he failed while she became a 1st Echelon mage before him. He wanted to be ahead of her but it seemed his dream shattered pretty quickly.
“Don’t be gloomy,” Nalia said to him as she patted his shoulder. “You will be able to ascend to 1st Echelon pretty soon, I believe in you.”
Flynn’s mood got a little better with her consotion and other sweet words.
He clenched his first and raised it towards the ceiling as his jaw was set firm in resolution, his voice clear and strong, “Just you wait, I’ll soon become an Echelon mage and catch up with you rapidly. Then I’ll soon leave you in the dust.”
“Hehe, I’ll wait, but you can never surpass me.” Nalia ughed merrily as she then went outside the house leaving him behind in the room. After that, Flynn focused on the technique once again as he began to practice diligently.
