Chapter 4

  The day passed as Flynn practiced the Prosperous Mind Mana Manipution technique for the remainder of the time.

  Today, Nalia will be going to Asper City with Uncle Tom to get her Mage verification badge. Newly ascended mages usually went to the Mage Association the day they joined the ranks of Echelon mages.

  But Nalia took one more day as Uncle Tom had recently returned from Capital City Atnta and had to take some rest.

  She took time to meet Flynn once again before departing for the city. They chatted for a while and she encouraged him wittily before parting off.

  The vilge they lived in was known as Amberfall Vilge, which was located in sector two of Asper City. Asper City was divided into three sectors. Each sector was managed by the Sector Head of that corresponding sector. The same was the situation regarding the Capital City Atnta, and the neighboring City Snowmoon.

  The person above the Sector Heads was the City Mayor, who is the highest-ranking official in the city. The City Mayor was directly appointed by the King of the Atytia Kingdom.

  It took several hours to travel to Asper City from Amberfall vilge. So, Nalia would be traveling for a while with Uncle Tom to reach the city.

  Uncle Tom hired a horse carriage for the trip. Every animal in Ryunil World was empowered by mana. And the horses were the best-traveling partners for anyone in the world. Pretty soon, Nalia left with Uncle Tom riding in the horse carriage.

  After sending them off, Flynn returned to the house and went to his room to circute the technique once again.

  As he sat down on the floor and was about to start practicing, a young woman’s voice resounded from outside the house. “Flynn?” the voice was gentle and warm, “Flynn, are you home?”

  Flynn jumped up, hearing the voice, a wide smile appearing on his face as he knew his mother had returned.

  He swiftly went outside the room as he darted towards his mother. Arriving outside the house, he saw a woman wearing a red robe covering her body, her beauty radiating from her very presence.

  Her figure was elegant and neat, her gorgeous abaster skin glistering under the daylight. Scarlet flowing hair cascaded down her shoulders, nearing her hips. She looked at him with motherly love, as she moved toward him with her arms wide open, her azure eyes gentle and warm.

  Flynn promptly dashed into her embrace as she hugged him gently, while he hugged her tightly as he missed her warmth for the st couple of weeks.

  “I missed you, mom.” He said joyfully as he gripped her clothes.

  Fiona, his mother, leaned down as she stroked his hair lightly, her cheek brushing past his hair as she held him. Her other hand pressed against his back, stroking with affection and love.

  “I missed you too, my child.” Fiona smiled lightly as she took in his scent - sweet and innocent, full of life, still away from the blemishes of the world.

  “Where’s father?” Flynn asked as his eyes unconsciously went behind her, looking for another figure.

  She replied as she took his hand and began moving towards the house, “Your father is busy with some work in the city. It will take some time to finish those and there was some paperwork. So, it will take a while for him to come back.” She smiled as she added, “Come, I will make your favorite dish, help me while I make it.”

  Flynn followed his mother, Fiona, into the house. Her full name was Fiona Marlin. She was 33 years old this year. She had the same affinity towards mana just as Flynn. She was a 4th Echelon water mage.

  Fiona went to the kitchen and began preparing the dishes. At the same time, Flynn helped her from time to time. The atmosphere was harmonious and lovely.

  Fiona brought some mana beast’s meat. The meat from the mana beasts was nutritious and important for a mage’s growth. As it was filled with pure refined mana of the beasts.

  After a while, Flynn and his mother both started eating and talking about her adventures. “Mother, tell me more about what you and father did this time?” Flynn asked to know more about their journey.

  Fiona filled him in with various topics, like how they battled a humanoid tree, how they had to flee while encountering wolves of the same stage as them and many more.

  Flynn heard everything, his eyes sparkling and his expression eager to know more. He too wanted to go on a journey one day amongst the dangers of the outside world. He wanted to become so strong that no obstacles would be a bother to him, his parents and his friends.

  After that, they finished eating their portions while keeping some for his father as they went to their respective rooms.

  Flynn sat down on the floor as he began to circute the Properous Mind Mana manipution. This time, he didn’t feel the sensation of ants crawling under the skin. As he felt the mana moving in and out of his body, he eventually sensed the warm feeling once again.

  “Come here”... he heard a light whisper in his mind as he was focusing on the warm sensation in his core of sor plexus. He thought it was nothing as he circuted the mana once again.

  “Come here”...”Come here”...”Come here”...

  This time the voice repeatedly whispered in his mind as his focus finally shook and his concentration on the technique’s mana circution broke down.

  ‘What was that?’ Flynn thought as sweat trickled down his face. ‘Who?’ he wondered in his mind. But that voice didn't appear again. As if it was nothing but a hallucination of his mind.

  Flynn didn’t continue his practice anymore after that. He went outside the house and walked for a while before reaching the boundary of the vilge. He watched the birds flying and insects making buzzing sounds as the sun casted golden-red light across the horizon.

  Then, it was gone. Darkness eventually swept everything as the sky fell to an eerie bckness. Flynn stood there silently as the cold wind blew his hair and cold sensation began to fill the ambient air.
