When I woke up, it was 5 AM. I stood up abruptly, a thought hitting me.
'F*, I didn’t upgrade the converter yesterday! I had so much time, but I forgot one thing.'
I tried to calm myself down, telling myself:
'It’s okay. It’s just one day, right? Just one day.'
I took deep breaths, then another thought crossed my mind.
'Yeah, right… When I did my homework, I never did it until the st two fing days. If the deadline was far away, I always said, ‘I’ll do it tomorrow.’ Yeah, that’s it. I have a system that can do it itself, so why didn’t I bme the system?!'*
Just in case, I wondered if I had forgotten to turn off auto-upgrade. It was better to be specific.
'System, convert atoms to energy and upgrade the converter’s max cap every day. Stop when I have enough energy to upgrade the [Decompose] skill.'
>Ding!
-300 metric ton of atom and + 300,000 energy and -250,000 energy to upgrade converter, converter upgrading in 3,2,1.
>Ding!
+100,000 converter cap per day.
>Ding!
Command added.
Hearing the notification, I paused.
'Why do I feel like I did something wrong?'
I thought about it for a moment.
'I can't think of anything... so maybe it's nothing.'
I looked at the converter.
>Heat and Atom Converter (400,000 per day);
I ate breakfast, covered my nose, and left the room. I headed up to the 7th floor. Like before, I didn’t open the corridor door—I just made a hole in it.
'I’ll [decompose] this door once I’ve cleared out the zombies.'
I killed 25 zombies, gaining 25 XP. It was almost enough to level up.
Looking at my level…
>Creature: human LV 3(34/40);
After killing, I thought it was a good exercise. I went back and rested for 30 minutes. After that, I went up and started cleaning the 7th floor.
When I say cleaning, I mean [decomposing] everything on the floor. I gained more than 220 tons of atoms.
Just as I was about to head back for lunch, I looked out the window—and saw something interesting.
"Man, there's someone confident enough to drive a car."
I noticed the vehicle was being chased by zombies. Among them, I spotted some that were more agile, and even a few towering ones—almost 3 meters tall. Maybe 2.8 or 2.7 meters? I wasn't sure. I couldn't use my [Identification] skill, probably because they were too far away.
After finishing my lunch, I left my room. It was 12:35 PM. I pnned to clear out the next floor. When I reached the door, I followed the same process as before.
After finishing my lunch, I left my room at 12:35 PM. I was pnning to clear the next floor, so I went to the door and followed the same process as before.
When I looked inside, I realized it was a rooftop. It was the first time I’d seen it, and it felt freeing—like I wasn’t in a confined space anymore. Plus, there were no zombies on the rooftop. I decided to spend the rest of the day there and pnned to tackle the lower floor the next day.
'Wait, didn’t I only work half a day yesterday?'
I looked around once more, and as I moved forward, it felt like hitting the jackpot.
'But this is way better—it's so much more awesome to rex here. Alright, no working half the day again.'
While listening to loud music, I looked at the sky and the other buildings. I could see movement, but I couldn’t tell if it was a human or a zombie. All I knew was that I could see something moving.
'Now that I think about it, I haven’t seen any living humans on the cleared floors. Well, there’s nothing I can do about it. I forgot to grab the binocurs, but it’s not like I’d find them anywhere anyway.'
I spent the afternoon swimming in the pool. When I finished swimming, it was 5 PM. I headed back to my room, and before I started eating, I thought...
"Man, I remember copying the stove, gas, generator, and oil. Maybe I enjoyed it too much, and with everything happening, I didn't organize this room properly."
I turned on the lights and started assembling things. By the time I finished, it was already 7 PM. It was time to cook.
I fried some meat, cooked rice, and made noodles with eggs and small pieces of meat. I started eating at 7:20 PM and finished around 7:40 PM. "Man, I'm full."
I decomposed the leftovers to avoid waste. In total, I used more than 250 kg of atoms to create everything—food, fuel, and supplies. Not too much compared to what I have in my [decompose].
With everything done, I decided to call it a day. Lying on my bed, I slowly drifted off to sleep.
