Tuor disappeared from his personal room and appeared on Amelia’s Trial. He found the girl waiting for him, as it was usual with most trial takers. The only exception had been Emilio who kept leaving the Trial unconscious.
Given that she was Emilio’s niece, Tuor decided to make a personal welcome to the girl, using the talk he had with Emilio as a source of information. He quickly looked for the girl’s name in the System and proceeded to greet her in a badly acted robotic voice.
“Welcome back Amelia Torres. This robot welcomes you back to the Monolith computer.” He sure hoped he had the computer concept right for this joke. Sadly, the joke didn’t go as intended as Amela turned sour the instant she heard him. From a happy girl she turned into a harbinger of doom.
“How did you call me?!” She almost shouted, completely out of her mind. She seemed ready to jump into the man and tear a few pieces of flesh from his body with her bare hands.
“Uhh, Amelia Torres, is it not right? The System says it is your name,” Tuor answered, quite confused by her reaction. He was expecting her to act on the robot part of his acting, not the name he chose.
“Did the fucking System told you that’s my name? That means I will be stuck with it even if I can legally change it?” Amelia changed her mood between evenly mad and frustrated to then settle on worried. Her expressions finally allowed Tuor to understand a little bit about what was happening.
“I’m sorry I called you like that, but can I get some kind of explanation about what’s going on?”
Amelia took a deep breath and realized she was lashing out at the wrong person. She forcefully calmed herself down to face the man she had offended twice at that point.
“I’m sorry for coming at you like that. If I skip the last name part, it was actually a good joke given how I treated you before. Not that I am making a good second impression right now. Though now, I am completely sure you are not a robot.”
“I wanted to tease you a little and kind of got what I deserved this time. I do have to admit that the result was unexpected, I was more worried about the computer concept than your name.”
“The joke was ok, I’m sorry for my reaction. My biological father is someone I want nothing to do with, and I had to carry his last name for a long time. I am waiting until I can legally change it. I am a Castro and I will always be one, but now the System says it is Torres.”
Tuor could see that the girl was trying to swallow her emotions, but she was not fine with the name the System had selected for her.
“I’m sorry you have that complicated relationship. Why don’t you ask the System to change your name? If you really believe it is the wrong name, it will allow the change.”
“Can I do something like that?”
Amelia instantly started communicating with the System. In the meantime, Tuor asked again the name of the Trial taker and was able to see the moment it changed to Amelia Castro.
“This easily solves one big issue. I wish the legal part was that easy.” Even if Amelia complained about what she had to do on Earth, she was really happy that the System accepted the change. With the change, all of the anger she had before had completely vanished and she was now happy that Tuor decided to call her by her full name.

“I don’t know how your world works in this matter, but when you get in contact with people from other places, the System name will be the one everyone will take into account. That is why it is not that easy to change it. You are only allowed to do it if you have a real identity issue or there is something extraordinary enough for the System to accept the change.”
“It seems that years rejecting the name counts as an identity issue.”
“Yes, it sure does.” Tuor agreed, “I am happy you can solve this out. By the way, how did your Trial go? You are the last to leave this time.”
“I sure expect it to be. I passed the Trial.”
“Well, that’s obvious, but how many points did you get?”
That was the time when Tuor received another shock he was not expecting, one that was the beginning of something even bigger.
“I fully cleared it, I didn’t fail at all and the Stat just maxed out.”
“You did what?” Tuor double checked, not wanting to believe what he heard.
“I got 9 points in Energy. Ohh, and also 512 Trial Coins.”
Tuor had several things going on in his mind at the same time. First, was that he was lucky enough to be attending one of the peak talents of a planet that had hundreds of times more people than what was initially expected.
The moment that luck came into his mind he realized this girl was actually Emilio’s niece. Was she really the lucky one or was it Emilio? Could one's luck really influence another person's talent? The logical answer was no, but at that point he didn’t really know what to believe.
He also realized something else. He already had 5 extra Trial Coins because of the unexpected tips he was given, but he was also going to have another 5 just from the commissions on whatever Amelia was going to buy. If he added them, he was going to earn almost double the amount he expected for the whole job assisting the Trials.
Tuor decided to put his thoughts in order and assist the girl as well as he could, not only as the shopkeeper, but also as the friend of her uncle.
“You really are talented in Energy and you can officially say to your uncle that I was wrong about him being a top talent, you are the definition of talent here. Also, I am getting tired of Emilio’s luck.”
Amelia was sprouting with happiness when she heard his comment “Yey! I can finally say that I am better than him. What is this about his luck?”
“Nothing, just that he is lucky to have you as his niece,” Tour bootlicked her a little, while also kind of telling the truth.
“He sure is,” Amelia smiled and she checked her System log. “I still have 9 Free Points to assign. Given that I already reached 10 in Energy I might as well assign all I can to Body and then focus on another Stat.”
Tour was about to internally agree with the girl, but her comment made him have an idea. There was a System Reward in quests that was considered the biggest reward there could be. At the same time, it was almost impossible to get it, but given that Amelia had the best possible result in her Trial and that the System was looking for talented people in the integrated planet, she might have a chance of getting it.
“Wait a second, let me check if you can buy something that could be useful before that.”
‘System, can the Trial Taker Amelia Castro buy Bloodlines?’
Tuor read the items in the list and couldn’t help but smile. He had almost missed the biggest chance for the girl, but he didn’t. In his mind there was only one thing when he read them.
This girl is about to become a real powerhouse.
