Chapter 150: Zerg vs. Predators… or Aliens?

Chapter 150: Zerg vs. Predators… or Aliens?

Did I wander into the wro?

Alex was dumbfounded as he stared at the bed corpse dragged over by a Zergling. He reized it immediately—it was an Alien.

But how could Aliens appear in a Predator base?

Alex, of course, had seen the Alien vs. Predator movies and thought they were det for what they were. Still, he never sidered the two species naturally ected, dismissing it as a gimmicky crossover for thrills, much like Jason vs. Freddy or Sadako vs. Kayako. Such matchups were often too ridiculous to take seriously.

If Alien vs. Predator usible, could this world also feature Alien vs. Avatar or Alien vs. Gaxy Hunter? Did Pandora exist here too?

And what about other absurd matchups like Mega Shark vs. Atta Titan or Zombies vs. Vampires? That’d be jumping the shark into oblivion.

Alright, enough digression. Back to the situation at hand.

As the Zerg sushed deeper into the base, the number of Aliens increased signifitly. Alex had to admit, these creatures were causing some trouble. While the Zerglings had overwhelming numbers, they couldn’t climb walls or navigate air ducts as effectively as the Aliens. This allowed the Aliens’ hit-and-run tactics to yield some results. However, once Alex deployed Hydralisks, the tide turned. Aliens couldn’t match the Zerg in numbers, and their ambushes were ralized by Hydralisk fire.

Learning quickly, the swarm adapted its strategy. Zerglings secured the corridors, while Hydralisks watched the ducts. Any Alien attempting to emerge was either torn to shreds by Zerglings or turned into Swiss cheese by Hydralisks. As for the Aliens’ acidic blood, it wasn’t much of a threat—melting steel took time, and Zerg exoskeletons were far tougher than steel.

The Aliens’ tail strikes were more dangerous, managing to take out dozens of Zerglings with sudden, precise stabs. But “dozens” were a drop in the o for the swarm.

For a loss of fewer than 5lings, Alex’s forces pletely wiped out nearly 700 Aliens. Not a single one was left alive.

“How strange. Where did all these Aliens e from?”

Alex frowned as he surveyed the bodies littering the floor. It seemed uhat the Predators had been keeping this many Aliens as pets. The sheer number of them rivaled a full-blown outbreak. If Alex hadn’t brought the full might of the swarm, dealing with them would’ve been a nightmare. However, these Aliens didn’t appear to have emerged from ied Predators, as their appearance was entirely normal.

In the movies, Aliens born from Predator hosts bore distinct features resembling their hosts, including mandibles and elongated builds. These Aliens, oher hand, showed no signs of such traits.

  Soon, Alex’s questions were answered.

“These Predators are truly something else…”

In front of Alex were rows of mutited corpses bound to stone pilrs. Even Alex, who had seen his fair share of horrors, felt his expression darken. He had thought the human experiments in the Alien movies were cruel enough. pared to the Predators, however, those experiments seemed tame. The Predators had incubated 700 Alien eggs in one go—something only a species like them could even attempt.

Clearly, the Predators weren’t fools. Realizing they couldn’t withstand the Zerg onsught, they had released the Aliens as a st-ditch effort to slow the swarm. Unfortunately for them, Aliens were far too weak against the Zerg.

“Keep advang. Kill every st one of those bastards!”

With the Aliens out of the way, the Zerg army picked up speed, quickly engaging the remaining Predators in fierbat.

Ordinarily, Alex would stay at the rear, letting his swarm hahe fighting. But upon seeing the hundreds of corpses the Predators had used for Alien breeding, he ged his mind. As a Padin, he felt it was his duty to fight for justice—at least sometimes.

When Alex ehe battlefield, the tide turned into a one-sided massacre.

In this world, the Predators were apex hunters. However, pared to the powerhouses of Alex’s primary world, they were no more than beginners. Against Alex, they were hopelessly outmatched. Activating his time-stop ability, Alex became a blur of silver light, sword in hand. In an instant, he was among the Predators, decapitating them with swift, precise strikes. Heads flew into the air, and blood sprayed as their bodies colpsed.

  "Roar…!!"

The remaining Predators quickly realized the danger Alex posed. A few turoward him, their shoulder ons swiveling to lo. But before they could fire, Alex raised his hand and ched his fist in midair. Invisible psioniergy materialized into massive hands that gripped the Predators by their throats, lifting them into the air. With a flick of his wrist, Alex hurled them into the waiting swarm behind him, where they were promptly torn apart.

The battle had only oe—total annihition for the Predators.

"Master, the Predators are about to reach the location of the pary core bomb!"

At that moment, Ikaros hurried over, quickly spotting several Predators sprinting toward the end of the corridor. Though the Aliens hadn’t mao stall Alex for long, they had achieved their purpose. The Predators had reopehe st sealed gate Ikaros had previously locked. Ohey ehe trol room, they could manually detohe core bomb, bringing everything to an end.

"Don’t worry, Ikaros," Alex said with a calm demeanor, far from the ahe angel was feeling. He gnced briefly at the fleeing Predators befently patting her head. As a seer mage with the power to glimpse the future, Alex had already foreseen the Predators' fate.

"They won’t make it into the trol room," he said fidently.

"Huh?" Ikaros blinked in fusion, about to ask further when the ground suddenly began to tremble. Moments ter, the wall he Predators colpsed, and a massive tunneling worm burst through, its gaping maing shut around the hapless warriors.

In an instant, the remaining Predators were swallowed whole. With their sharp, serrated teeth, the worm made short work of its prey. If these poor souls were lucky, perhaps even a skeleton might remain—though Alex doubted it.

After all, not everyone had the "honor" of being transported by tunneling worms.

With the Predators elimihe rest of the task was straightforward. Alex ordered the Zerg to secure and transport the core bomb away. Meanwhile, the Iors successfully assimited the Predator base, verting it into a hive for manufacturing mutated beings. Driven by curiosity, Alex observed the mutation process iail.

In games, Zerg-created mutants are simply the result of Iors iing enemy structures, which then automatically produce mutated beings. Reality, however, worked differently. The hive's tendrils would devour the corpses of falleors and humans like ivorous pnts, drawing them into the anietwork. The remaihen transported to translut, egg-like pods. There, Zerg biomass attached parasitic anisms to the corpses, reanimating them into grotesque new lifeforms.

The reanimated beings weren’t merely ied—they were essentially low-level parasititities.

With the Predator threat ralized, Alex found himself with some free time. However, seeing Aliens in the Predator base sparked a bold idea.

The Zerg could ie various species into their swarm—so why not the Aliens?

To Alex, the Zerg were nearly perfect, except for their ck of a stealthy reaissanit. While many Zerg units could burrow, this was only effective on the ground. In facilities like the Predator base or a space station, such tactics were less viable.

The Zerg did have gelings capable of infiltrating other fas, but they cked bat abilities and were limited to reaissance. Aliens, by trast, were ideal for such tasks. Masters of stealth, ambush, and assassination, Aliens excelled in rge architectural plexes. Their ability to infiltrate ued and initiate covert attacks made them far more useful in suviros than most Zerg units. Moreover, their parasitic reprodu capabilities, if used correctly, could make them a powerful addition to the swarm.

Driven by this vision, Alex tasked Myruh bining the traits of Aliens ao create a new hybrid unit to fill this gap.

Myrune agreed with Alex’s proposal. However, after examining the Alien corpses, she expihat fully iing Aliens into the Zerg system would require capturing a live Alien Queen. If they could successfully capture and modify an Alien Queen, they could incorporate Aliens into the swarm as a new, specialized unit.

The question remained—where could they find an Alien Queen?
